1. Exactly, they think it will negatively affect them but in reality they wont even notice it. Except for the construction of the telescope, which is only a one time event but it'll bring work for locals.
2. The same as people who are opposed to windmill, they think it will hinder their every day life.
3. I heard that they are only using the religious/sacred place part to not get it build. Even the view pollution seems to be overstated as no one ever goes up there.
4.
That sounds like a good design of the NS and an oversight/compromise/tradeoff in the F9/Merlin design. SpaceX could decide to decrease total thrust/payload capacity and install a smaller central engine so they can hover as well. They choose not to, so they have that problem. Dissing an accomplishment of one because of shortcomings of a competitor is not nice.
There is no reason for the F9 first stage to have a engine which can hover, because you only need so much accuracy. Just look at how accurate they can target a barge in the middle of the ocean. Also it's better to have a bigger landing pad than decreasing payload capacity.
5.
Musk's been slagging them on Twitter. Claiming that grasshopper was the first suborbital rocket landed successfully (didn't pass the Karman line afaik) and a successful "water landing" of F9R. Pretty classless IMO, he should congratulate them and get back to work.
Actually Elon Mentioned this: "Jeff maybe unaware SpaceX suborbital VTOL flight began 2013. Orbital water landing 2014. Orbital land landing next. https://t.co/S6WMRnEFY5" Why he posted the grasshopper video, I don't know. But He also congratulates them in the first tweet he posts about it: "Congrats to Jeff Bezos and the BO team for achieving VTOL on their booster."
Though I guess I shouldn't be surprised after his equally classless response to the Antares failure.
How he said: "Sorry to hear about the @OrbitalSciences launch. Hope they recover soon."
If grasshopper is suborbital then so was DC-X, and BO's Goddard demonstrator. He's acting like one of his clueless fanboys.
He didn't say grasshopper was suborbital.
6.
Wait, Russians will start buying/trading for seats on Dragon? When was that announced?
It seems like a more efficient way to send up the new expedition members in 1 rocket, instead of dividing them up in 2 rockets.
7.
Sounds like you have the part backwards, not sure.
The parts are from ZodiusInfuser model remake pack and they are connected with the yellow marking on the decoupler. So that doesn't seem to be the problem.
8. Is it a know bug that robotic parts don't work on decouplers? In the editor they work fine, but outside it turns the wrong way and break off the part that's connected to the end of it. I fixed this by adding a fuel tank between the stack decoupler and the robotic part, but I guess it can be any non robotic part.
9. Whats wrong with the graphics, because I can't see anything wrong with it.
10. What's the problem with the noise anyway? There a lot more noisy things outside than windmills, but no one complains about that.
11. Vessel recovery doesn't seem to work when it's on the launch pad, it only works after quiting and restarting the game. This is what is in the log:
12. Delete KWPatch-2.cfg in /GameData/KWCommunityFixes, it's the file which disable the shrouds/fairings.
13. It should be dangerous at all, if it's only used in space and shielded from the crew. Ditching a NERVA should always be on a trajectory where it wouldn't impact an other celestial body.
14. Nope it's not in there. But Thunderbird shows a pop up message if an email is received.
15. Password reset for the store is not working, it not giving me any emails. It says "An email has been sent to your KSP Account Email address with the instructions to recover your password." after entering the email address that registered with it, but no email shows up. It tried since last night.
16. @lajoswinkler: You keep pointing at how China make it's solar panels, but ignore how other (more responsible) countries deal with it. Besides, for ever mundane product there is some company or country who doesn't care how it's getting produced. http://webecoist.momtastic.com/2012/01/10/water-colors-10-unnaturally-dyed-polluted-rivers/2/ We're not talking about "the grid", we're talking about if solar panels are good or bad for the environment. If it takes batteries in a house to make it worth it, and avoid "gray" energy, then why not mention it? Of course nuclear power is quite safe. But if something bad happens then it far worse. There are countries who don't care how it's stored: http://www.cbrneportal.com/the-disposal-of-nuclear-waste-into-the-worlds-oceans/
17. Enormous energy is not by definition bad for the environment and the handling of the chemicals can be regulated. You don't even have to try and find places in Europe where it's possible to most of the energy from solar and fill the rest with wind. Most solar panels come with 20 year warranty, that means that they expect them to work for at least that long. Compared that to a washing machine, which only has around 6 years of warranty.
18. What down side? Production can be regulated to stop pollution. Combined with wind energy it's possible to be "off the grid" so to speak. They last for, or more than, 20 years.
19. There are bacteria that eat perchlorates, they also create waste heat as a bonus. An other way might be to burn the perchlorates.
20. If producing something creates pollution then that doesn't mean the product isn't environmentally friendly. It's like saying vitamin C isn't good for you because it's made in a factory that pollutes the environment. Also this is not something which is limited to solar panels, other non-green product produce equal or worse environmental pollution.
21. So here are a idea people have about "what happened before the big bang" or "how can you create something from nothing": - There was nothing at the beginning of the universe not even nothing. It's like the time before you were born, you don't know anything about that. - In string theory our universe is born from an other universe or the multiverse. - Our 3 dimensional universe is born from a 4 dimensional star going supernova creating a 4 dimensional black hole. Our 3 dimensional universe exists on it's even horizon.
22. As far as I know all the 1.0.5 non-unity 4 bug fixes(things which are in the KSP code) and additions will be in 1.1. If those are ready then why not release it as it's own update? As an added bonus, for Squad, it allows for more possible bug popping up and being fixed before 1.1 gets released. For us it means playing KSP with less bugs, new features and new parts while we wait for 1.1.
23. This mod is great! Even though your space program depends on public opinion, your a whole lot freer to do what ever you want. Great job.
