  1. Maybe there is a pattern in the ore placement that once we scan a whole planet we will see it.
  2. How about using surface samples to locate ore before you have the scanning tech unlocked? Say we get the drills before the scanner, gotta take samples to figure out the best place to drill.
  3. Ive never used any mods for a DV display and I enjoy learning on my own without it. That being said, I wouldnt object to having it for other people or for just figuring out how badly I over engineer some of my rockets.
  4. My probes sure would love the SLS fuel tanks full of Xenon. Not practical but it should be possible.
  5. 5 days seems a tad soon. Not complaining but I would expect this release to take a lot of extra time. Though if harv is spending his time doing lots of little tweaks like he seems to be doing then maybe things are almost ready and hes looking for things to do.
  6. When Tweakables came out I thought that it was going to let you pick the fuel for each tank, not just adjust the amount.
  7. Personally I play stock. I dont have anything against modding at all, you should see my Skyrim load list. I just dont mod anything in Early Access really. Ive tested some mods out of course but until KSP is finished (not 1.0 but when I feel they are finished) I will wont be adding mods. That being said, any mod that brings back the Round-8, if they dont change it back, will be on my list as soon as it comes out.
  8. I dont always use such small L-F/O tanks. But when I do I use the Round-8
  9. also since debris is something that you can choose not to leave laying around (the slider in the options) they dont want you loosing flags because of that. that being said, they can make it a pseudo debris that never gets cleaned up.
  10. Will the tech tree be adjustable for the players? A pre-game config we can do since any tree layout you come up with wont please everyone.
  11. I think part of the reason for such long standing bugs was that it was either difficult to reproduce or locate the cause of. (or the bug was in a placeholder system they didnt want to spend weeks fixing if they were going to scrap it) Another part was that they had more important things to figure out and just wasnt worth the time to fix. Now it seems that they no longer have the excuse of having more important things to do so they are going to town on finding all they can. Also, the reason they havent given us a list of squashed bugs could be because they arnt sure they are all gone yet. I've programmed far simpler software, fixed bugs, then encountered them again later on. So something like KSP, they might think they got the bug, but wont say they did until the testers take a go at it.
  12. @Steven Mading 'stupidity' afaik doesnt do anything but alter facial expressions when things happen on your ship. for now anyways. I love your ideas though.
  13. Just check Harvesters profile, it shows all his recent posts.
  14. I got told to stop using Comic Sans in my webcomic. I figured since it was a.. you know... comic... that it would be ok. But no... it was not.
  15. paying kerbals over time would also cause issues with long term missions. sending something to jool or wherever it would force you to take on contracts during that mission rather than timewarp to the windows and focus on one mission at a time. other features that give you stuff over time can be abused by the time warp, costing stuff over time lets the timewarp abuse you. (that sounds wrong) it COULD work for certain players but not all of them, i like to focus on one mission at a time even if it takes a few years. so its something that mods should definitely do like they are currently. I do like the idea of hiring skilled kerbals and/or training them with money.
  16. I had a avatar done in paint before it was cool... from my web-comic. Though I confess it was done in Paint.NET
  17. Ive only read hitchhikers once years ago. I dont quite get the reference.
  18. whats the word on the stuff that might get cut from 1.0? you asked what people wanted but i didnt see the result if there was one. are you just going to take longer for 1.0 and not cut anything?
  19. This idea keeps showing up from time to time. Id like it. Hyperedit wont ever become stock and the simulator can be a goal in on itself. We can start out with an empty simulator and gradually add planets/moons as they are 'discovered' via the space program. If you want to test your Duna Lander then send a probe first to collect readings. How dense is the atmo? How much gravity? The probe doesnt need to survive or return home, just needs to get there and send some science back. Then the challenge of completing the simulator for all space bodies becomes a challenge to complete. Granted, we could guess at a lot of this info for our own solar system before sending probes but we frequently learn that we got stuff wrong after we sent something to take pictures. A bare bones simulator, start in Duna orbit of 150k, only simulating the qualities that have been returned from previous missions would be very helpful when designing that stage with minimal hassle.
  20. How about a mod that lets you rename all the resources? Call funds, ore, rep, fuel, mono just whatever you want.
  21. Something specifically for the wormhole just lets you control what system you end up in. It doesnt let you fly around the solar system with impunity. Meaning, I cant just FTL from kerbin to duna but still get to different solar systems.
  22. They may have been able to set the deadline to whatever they wanted, but not move it once it was set.
