  1. This (constantly-developed-still-in-alpha) game probably isn't for you.
  2. If you're looking for more parts really in general (including couplers, structural elements, more engines, etc. etc.) I would download and install 'KW Rocketry' and 'NovaPunch'. These two mods are very large and just packed full of many, many parts. There are a lot of mods that are around the same idea as say Kethane, but it is by far the best that I know of. The developers of Kethane have really done a fantastic job with it. As Spica said though, just check out the Kerbal Spaceport and download away You can always remove them if you find one you're not happy with. Hope this helped a little bit

The detailed intricacies of designing space craft on KSP would be difficult to implement on a mobile device; unless it was only for tablets and/or "phablets (like the Samsung Galaxy Note series) that you could use a stylus on. I love the idea though. An idea I would love would be to have some sort of integrated MechJeb or something similar that could port over to mobile app development to allow you to plan out Delta-v, TWR, time, etc. and plot out maneuver nodes for a certain mission or journey, upload it to your profile, then once you get back to your PC you can then build a craft, edit one you have built previously to match the requirements then launch the mission.

  5. Doesn't bother me very much at all. I've noticed a slightly longer load time, but in no way close to causing me heartache or not continuing to play .21.1. A few extra seconds just gives me that much more time to take a sip of my favorite ice cold brew. And/or get mentally prepared for the mission at hand And at any rate, there's been a few people complain about this very issue and if I could guess, Squad is working on how to improve/fix it.
  6. Yea, basically a culmination of everything already mentioned here. Normally, the actual name part of it is either related to the mission or a random name I happened to think of (although, I still try to keep it somewhat "cool" lol). Then I also add a numbering system from I (one) up; basically for the same reason as Vegesus44 mentioned, so I can go back and see the progression of mission failures and to remind myself of how much better I am now on 'Crappy Spacecraft Mk. V' than I was on 'Crappy Spacecraft Mk. I'.
  7. LOL! I didn't know that! Well, damn haha.... Oh well, I'm still going to try this little mission as I think the experience of doing so will be beneficial.   9. Hey everyone, so I've been playing KSP for a bit over a week now and I am absolutely loving it. And learning an absolute truck load of information! But I must say, as with most everyone, I've made my share of dumb mistakes through my journey of trial-and-error lol.... Anyway, I came into this game during .20 and now have obviously updated to .21.1. Since permanent death to Kerbal's is now a reality, I must seek the help of the community at large to save our greatest pal, Jebediah! My very first space craft I personally built (tried a few of the pre-installed builds first) I was very proud of and had big ambitions for. I was going to the moon! Once I got into orbit and plotted my path to the moon, I soon realized that I should have enough Delta-V to make it into Minmus orbit. Very, very exciting. Well, long story short: I was just shy of Dv to completely intercept and make orbit with Minmus. I thought to myself, that's okay I've decoupled my final liquid fuel stage and have this very lightweight pod and my ion engine to get me around. Well, I'll let the picture below do the talking and let you notice my fatal flaw in this design.... Yep. I installed my ion motor upside down. I always wondered why that decoupler stayed there, but for the first couple days, just chocked it up to not knowing much yet and maybe I just screwed something up or whatever. Which, boy oh boy did I ever!! So, by the time I realized my ion motor was upside down and I had the time to actually play some, .21 had come out and introduced perma-death to Kerbals. NOOOOOO! Lol I must save Jeb! Below is the ridiculous orbit my craft ended up in with absolutely no way of propelling myself what-so-ever (highlighted in yellow): This thing obviously doesn't have a docking ring or anything of the like because I built this thing like my second day of owning KSP. My question is this: What in the world is the best way of accomplishing a rescue mission for Jebediah? I could care less about the craft itself, I just want to get Jeb back so I can put him somewhere safe and keep him alive lol... I've thought up a few different ideas craft-wise, but I guess I'm not too sure of myself yet. I don't want to risk blowing either craft up in the process. I also don't want to end up in a ridiculous orbit with the rescue craft either. Also, I suppose maneuvering nodes would be my best bet? How do I work out when to exit Kerbin orbit headed towards Jeb? I need to save good ol' Jebediah and I need your help
  10. Stupid_Chris, what do you mean by the part I've bolded here? Two orange tanks stacked on top of each other which are what? 3.75m? And then put a "pancake" style tank of 2.5m directly under to attach the Main Sail to? I'm curious as to how this prevents overheating... If this is the case, I have some re-engineering to do! Lol
  11. I cannot officially vote yet as I am still new to the forums, but I will post my official vote once that ability opens up to me. Even though I am a week into playing KSP, MechJeb was the first mod I downloaded (pretty much because the YouTube video I watched that got me interested in KSP was using it) and I love it. My vote is for 'Yes' and will be official soon (hopefully lol)
  12. I agree with this. Although I've only been around a week so I've only gotten to experience .20 through .21.1, the game loads faster except for switching between buildings at the KSC.
  13. Hello everyone! My name is Blake Gates (obviously ) and I'm pretty new 'round these parts. And loving every second! I first heard and read a small amount of information about KSP a couple months ago, and never really paid any mind to it then. Which, as I'm finding out now, was a huge mistake. But, in hindsight, I didn't really have the time to dedicate to gaming or anything of the like because my RL business started to pick up big time at that point. But anyway, I am absolutely loving KSP. I bought it last week because of a number of reasons. One being that someone I follow on Twitter mentioned something about it and then posted a picture of this crazy contraption setting off into orbit. I saw it and thought to myself, "Wait! That looks *bleeping* amazing! Man, I read about the game but wish I would've explored it more!".... The second reason being was because the next day I happened to hop onto Steam after not firing it up for quite sometime. A friend of mine told me that the Summer Sale was going on and they had some really good deals (as they always do). So, never-the-less I fire it up and what is the very first thing I see at the very top of the page? Yep! Kerbal Space Program only 12 bucks! Thought to myself, "it's time. I gotta have it now". And boy, I absolutely do not regret that decision to buy it. I have had more fun in the last 7 days (well, the time's I could play in that time frame at least lol) than I have had on a game in a long time. I mean, yea, it's still labeled as a "game", but Holy BeJesus, it's so much more than that! I'm a huge fan of anything space and astronomy, it is something that has absolutely fascinated me since I was a wee little boy. In fact, for a very long time, and really the reason why I haven't fired up Steam in a long time or have really played any other games, was because about a year ago I came across an MMO PC game set entirely in space called 'Eve Online'. I am still a die-hard Eve Online fanboy and play it consistently and talk about it quite a bit, but up until now, there has never really been any other games out there that really caught my attention and have kept it and will keep it (in terms of my newly-found drug, KSP lol) like Kerbal Space Program and Eve Online. Funny as hell they are both based around space. I just can't enough of either game. It's nice having dual monitors so I can engineer and build rockets, planes, rovers, landers etc. etc. on one screen, while running my space corporation and alliance in Eve Online on the other lol... Just glad my beautiful fiance absolutely loves my complete and utter nerdiness lol So anywho, enough of my ramblings. I am so glad and actually fortunate to be a part of a community like KSP's to learn from and share ideas with and enjoy such a great game that these fantastic developers are working and have worked so hard to create. I look forward to many more discussions with anyone and everyone, and letting you know I'm here to stay! See everyone in space! Fly sexy! Blake
