Spaceplane Landing
Feragorn replied to timmybananas's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
No problem. -
A tragedy... The last view of Kerbin from our doomed pilots about to impact Minmus. Their last radio transmission was sent, telling all of Kerbalkind how their sacrifice was totally in vain, and nobody should ever be sent out to Minmus again. GOVERNMENT EDIT: Their sacrifice showed all of Kerbalkind how, to make leaps and bounds in the fields of science, one must always be prepared to give one\'s life for science.

I want to see a quality Vostok/Voskhod capsule system. Preferably tuned to the RocktCo launch system. -
More correctly, it\'s just a lengthening of an orbit. A Hohmann transfer consists of two such lengthenings, and a bi-elliptic would consist of two lengthenings, and one shortening.

I had a Gnome actually burst into flames at apogee. Old motor, too strong. Not my best moment. As far as I know, the parachute melting thing is pretty common if you don\'t pack the wadding well enough. Had two or three rockets crumple that way.

Really, there\'s no advice to be given other than go into a very large field with no heavy traffic and no really heavy winds. It\'s quite simple. I\'ve got a few old kits from when I did that, and ended up building a few from scratch. Once you get experience with the level 1 kits, go up to level 2. You\'re a bit young for 3 and up, but that\'ll pass in time.

Mmm. When ASAS uses the normal SAS modules, it doesn\'t often wobble out of it\'s own socket. I\'ve never had a rocket disintegrate using that technique, but flaps and RCS can get uncontrollable quite quickly. Also, if using RCS, place one set of thrusters at the top, and one at the bottom. That\'ll help too.

One ASAS for the entire rocket, one SAS per stage. Keeps things solid as a rock.

You\'re in luck! I took another shot with a further focus: Here\'s one of just the walkway: Little information: This is Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham, Alabama. Used to be one of the largest pig iron manufacturers in the world, but is now a state park with lots of nice rusty machiney things. I love going there.

Here\'s an old one from when I was starting out about a year ago. Actually, thirteen months to the day.
