  1. I agree. A long with this, i think sound is one of the most underdeveloped parts of KSP. I hope there is some dedicated sound patch maybe after 1.3. The rockets all sound the same apart from a couple. The ambient sound is almost nonexistent and there are only a handful of soundtracks that get boring quite quickly. Imagine a huge rocket launch with a really thunderous booming rocket noise instead of the same noise played over it self several times over. Improving sound will most defiantly improve the overall game and is long overdue.
  2. I am actually looking forward to it. I always seem to have random windows tasks going on in the background like Cortana and 'Movies and TV' Which i never use.
  3. You could try using the claw to attach to the ground although it shouldn't be sliding if you are not on a slope. You could try mess with the landing leg settings. A picture would help. Maybe you just need to put some more legs on the right place.
  4. If they do make KSP2 i hope they make it on a new engine. Maybe they can design their own. Imagine the possibilities. I do hope to see some improvements that you have said in the current version though like more interactive science.
  5. Why did the cat slip off the roof? Its μ was too small. ( μ is the symbol used for coefficient of friction and is pronounced as mew)
  6. You deserve a life time ban from the forums for that one...
  7. Ahem, Why did the toilet paper roll down the hill? To get to the bottom,,,, (The thread says terrible jokes so don't kill me please)
  8. I believe that is wake turbulence. It can be a problem for aircraft behind another especially on take off and landing. You can't normally see it though. In that picture there must have been some fog in the air, but on a normal day it is invisible. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wake_turbulence Also cool thing i noticed once. (Not sure if it the same thing) Next time you make some tea (or coffee) drag the spoon through the liquid and on either side of the spoon you can see similar vortex in the liquid.
  9. I wonder what would have happened if they did collide. (Gravity?) Does any one know how close it got?
  10. Don't worry it is not too hard. First open your KSP folder (If you have it in steam go to properties then local files) In that folder there should be a file called 'settings'. Open it with notepad or something similar. You should have just some text open now. the first line should be ' // KSP Game Settings' After you have it open press Ctrl and F to open the search box. Type in 'Docking'. Press Find next until it highlights the line that says 'UIMODE_DOCKING' Under UIMODE_DOCKING. there is a line that says 'primary =' Now you want to replace what ever is after the = with your joystick button name. (to find it just go into KSP and bind your chosen button to anything and it should show you what it is called e.g. joystickbutton1 or something similar. Just type that after the = in the settings file. Finally go to UIMODE_STAGING (should be right above UIMODE_DOCKING) Then after 'Primary =' just type the same joystick button as you did before. Save the file and that is all, you are done! Let me know how it goes.
  11. Yes @diomedea is right. Open the settings.cfg file in your KSP folder. Then press Ctrl and , then type in docking. It will show you 'UIMODE_DOCKING'. Next to where it says 'primary, type the name of the button you want to use (like joystick3 or which ever you choose). Then for UIMODE_STAGING (just above the one you just searched) next to primary put the same key that you put for docking. Then when you press that button it will toggle between docking and staging. Good luck.
  12. Ah i see. I am not sure how to do that. I have just been clicking on the screen when i play. Give me a moment I will try to see if i can find how to do it.
  13. Seriously, you are the first person that i have ever seen actually use Cortana..
  14. @Dafni Oh right, it is in flight at the bottom left corner where you can switch between staging, docking and map mode. After you have switched to docking mode i believe press spacebar to switch between translation and rotation. (You can rebind that in the options if you want.)
  15. If you go into the input menu, then flight. You can click on pitch, yaw, roll on the right of the screen where you press to bind an axis. Then on the screen where it tells you to move the axis you want to bind there are three circles you can press: Staging, docking translation and docking rotation. If you make it so that pitch, roll, yaw have only the staging and 'docking rotation' selected Then bind your same joystick for the translation axis and only tick docking translation for them. You can then switch between docking translation (joystick will translate) and docking rotation (joystick will rotate). Then you can have the same axis switch between translation and rotation. Hope it helped.
  16. So is it time to remove the Christmas themed avatars?
  17. In career mode you have to upgrade buildings to unlock the ability to make maneuver nodes as well as other things. You can do this by right clicking on a building and then pressing the upgrade button. if I remember correctly you have to upgrade the mission control building to be able to make the maneuver nodes.
  18. @Capt Snuggler raises an important point. Currently it is easier to send a kerbal to space than an unmanned craft. There is no reason not to send a kerbal when a kerbal can do more than a probe and without the risk of totally losing control. If life support is added then the choice between probe and kerbal becomes meaningful. Do i pick the easier option of sending a probe to Jool, or the risky and more challenging but more rewarding option of sending a kerbal?
  19. @eddiew I understand what you mean but i think there are many people, including me, that find it strange that you can just leave a Kerbal in space forever without any consequences. Maybe life support is not the only answer, maybe there could be negative reputation for leaving a Kerbal in space for too long. What ever it is that might be implemented it should be optional because people like both ways.
  20. I agree there should be some sort of life support or some other limiting factor that means you can't just leave a kerbal in space forever. It is kind of silly how it is right now. Run out of fuel on the Mun? I'll just send a rescue mission that arrives when i finish my 10 year Jool mission. If it is ever implemented though i think it should be quite simple, only having one resource such as 'snacks'. Having more than one like water and oxygen doesn't expand much on solving the problem and instead only clutters things up and adds the need for more parts that are not necessary..
  21. Do you have any pictures. A space plane that can get to Dres is really impressive!
  22. It always seems to feel good when something goes wrong but then you fix it instead of it just all going right. I once had a space plane that lost one of its landing gear while in space but i still managed to land it. It was one of the most fun missions i ever did because it had some real tension to it.
  23. Isn't there a general rule that any film that is based of a game is a bad film? I would like to see more of those 5 minutes animations that they have on Youtube. Those are great to watch.
  24. Perfect they should go with your smiling face nicely! I got a nice family gathering and watched Dr Who the next day.
  25. I first nominated KSP for the best ' Early access game done right' award but that category did not get chosen. I still voted for the BOOM award though. KSP deserves that one.
