  1. Thanks for the info everyone! Klesh, I was looking at your pictures in your sig, you have one "preparing a flyby of Vall on the way to Jool", are those stock graphics? I turned mine all the way up (I thought) but those look really good, is there a nice texture/shadow mod or something? Thanks!
  2. Yeah I remember the 10K and turn, that's what I've been doing, and like I said..its bad. I appreciate the info, I've been running into heat issues on the way up, and getting completely fried on the way down, I think I need more shallow re-entry trajectories. So things have definitely changed. but like I said, been having a blast.
  3. So I put a few hundred hours on KSP back in the day (almost 2 years ago now?) and I finally came back, been having a blast with the career mode. BUT I'm having trouble orbiting efficiently, I'm burning way to much fuel for what I'm doing.. So assuming physics have changed a little and/or aerodynamics, what is the efficient launch trajectory? Thanks! - - - Updated - - - Side note: haha looking at my forum join date it was almost 2 years ago :S
  4. So I don't know what dark rock I've been living under... or maybe its just not common knowledge.. But I just found out about Star Citizen the other day, and it looks amazing! If you haven't seen anything about it, go to their main website and watch the video. Scott Mansley also has a few videos talking about it. The only downside I see to the game? it might melt my $3000.00 computer.... but then again, so does KSP with more then 400 parts...
  5. Yikes my bad! (still new to the forums) and forgot we had a spacecraft section.. As far as laythe... Like I said.. its completely stock (I don't even have mechjeb) so actually lifting this into orbit would be quite a challenge I think. My guess is its around 40-50 tons.
  6. Except quantum struts this is stock. Max cruising speed 500m/s max altitude 18000 meters large cargo room range: 250 kilomimeters
  7. You sir.. should go back and actually read the thread, and the multiple times I said "I WAS BEING SARCASTIC!!!!!!" Sarcasm is "a sharp, bitter, or cutting expression or remark; I would LOVE for KSP to have these graphics.. but anyone with an IQ over 5 would know this game/engine just couldn't handle it.. So just enjoy the picture, and next time read before you type.
  8. haha this wasn't even supposed to be about graphics, I just thought it was an awesome shot, and I added in some "sarcastic comedy"... or so I thought.. But since everyone wants to talk about graphics.. it WOULD be nice to have some more particle effects.. something to look at. and for those who can't run it.. just have a slider option.. or a "on and off"... easy nuff.
  9. No need to defend the game here, not only was I being sarcastic (because that is a real pic) But honestly it looks exactly like KSP, (just a HD version) orange tanks... shoot they even have struts XD
  10. We need these graphics XD (side note.. that's of a recent launch of a U.S. "classified payload")
  11. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS!!! I keep my main volume at 11% Everything is fine.. except when I crash into water.. sometimes it almost blows my speakers.. No joke.. really needs to be worked on.
  12. In the screens it only shows 900m/s, and top speed was around 1100m/s. But then I added 2 more intakes on each side and top speed was 1500m/s no cheats or anything.
  13. So I would say this is my first real good long distance airplane.. 100% built by me.. probably not an original design.. but still. top speed was 20,000meters going 1500m/s! (I was impressed) Goes from kerbal base to north pole in around 10 minutes.
  14. So I've been messing around for awhile trying to build a C-130ish cargo plane.. and I need to build a hallow fuselage.. So I decided to use "wing connectors" And I think i'm getting some really weird aerodynamics off of them.. but I'm not really sure.. Can I do this? is it stupid? will it work? which end on the connectors are lift? the smaller ends? heres a pic of what I have so far (pretty damn crappy) (don't laugh to hard)
  15. Title pretty much sums it up. I'm thinking of designing some sort of a space tug, but I'm wondering how much they can pull? thanks! Side note: can you set up certain engines on and off via the action groups?
