That is another thing I have planned
Testing new waterfall plume (much brighter, watch how the ground lights up as it lifts off)
Oh my word... I can't wait to get my hands on this.

I actually fixed this the first time I tried to rewrite it, so it shouldn’t be too hard to get it working this time.
That's great news! I look forward to your next update. Big props to you and the rest of the modding community for doubling down on KSP 1 support.

Well, since KSP2 seems to be a bust (for now), I have been considering rewriting this and attempting to improve my previous work. If I were to do this, what would you want to see changed/added?
Also, sorry for my absence in this thread, I kind of took a break and just forgot it existed.
There's still the matter of Real Plume overlapping with your mod, correct? I only recently installed SWE and there does appear to be some undesirable mixing of plume fx. Great work, though! I really love the overall look.

Ohhh I'm going to have so much fun with this tonight. You got yourself a new patron, dude. Seriously incredible work.

We were the true volumetrics all along.
-
Wow the volumetrics look stunning! Glad to see you're still creating, @blackrack. I just returned to KSP after a long break and it's nice to see familiar names still active in the modding scene. Take care and keep up the awesome work. I think my screenshot game is about to ascend to a whole new level!

I hope I'm not breaching etiquette by posting again. I found a few more that I'd like to share.
For what it's worth, like my first post, they're true in-game shots. A minor exception is the the time-lapse effect, which is the result of stacking video frames with an external application. For anyone curious, the depth of field is also in-game, achieved with some clever ReShade manipulation.
Unfortunately, it's difficult to get the same effect now, due to newer versions of KSP, ReShade, or both. -
I've been saving these for years! I knew they'd come in handy one day.
Might post some more later.
Edit: One more. Forgot my "marble" shot!

That image was taken by @cobbman11 using gemfX and KSPRC if I recall correctly - that atmosphere you're talking about is actually a bloom effect created by gemfx, not the actual atmospheric effects if I call correctly. I don't know if it actually has scatterer in it but I assume it does? Cobbman?
Oof, that was so long ago! I think the creation of this gif predates scatterer. I believe you're correct about the atmosphere. It must have been a layer in EVE (KSPRC config) and the edge glow was made more pronounced by GemFX.
-
I've been tinkering with dynamic depth of field and my first thought was something like "I really should go stare at some water."Not disappointed. Scatterer continues to impress!

Wow! Laythe has never been so breathtaking.

DUDE, I MIGHT HAVE TO STEAL THIS TO REPLACE MY OP PIC!
Do it! I'd be honored

Absolutely stunning!

A few more long exposure experiments.
SpoilerSpoilerSpoiler -
My search-fu has come up with nothing, so hopefully I'm not wasting space.
I recently "lost" my avatar picture. Poof, gone! When I try to upload a new one (I've tried different formats and sizes) I'm presented with the "There was a problem processing the uploaded file. -200" error. Has anyone had this issue and found a solution? I feel naked—cold and naked.
-
Dropping by to share some of my recent long exposure experiments.

So... I got a real job with a major software company, I didn't do great in all the technical questions but apparently making and maintaining a mod like this is a huge selling point.
Thanks for everyone who supported me and supported scatterer over the past year, it means a lot to me.
I will be back with more neat stuff once things settle down.
That's awesome! Congrats!

New version is uploading. RSS seems to have pretty bad z-fighting so you might want to avoid this version if you're on RSS until I get it fixed. Godrays are disabled by default but can be enabled from the main menu. Eclipses (sky and orbit only), custom lens flare shader and terrain shadows are also included. Full changelog is in the OP.
Have fun.
YES! I got home from a long day at work and this is just what I was hoping to see.

I personally like it when it's really subtle, so I'm trying to get it looking subtle now. And of course it will be togglable and configurable.
How does this look?
In space it might still be too strong.
@Proot get over here.
These look great! Personally, I can never have enough sun glare. :-p

Hmm I am Using Reshade. So can I use your config right? As far as I know Reshade is made of the parts from GemFX and SweetFX etc.
You might be right, but I can't say for sure. I'd like to know how that works out.

are you using some kind of an enb, reshade or anything like that? if yes can you share?
Yup, I'm using GemFX.
Here's the stand-alone installation and my config.
