  1. Dev notes, dev's tweets, they even post here from time to time. Cargo bays were confirmed for .25 some time ago, although my memory fails on by who or where. Maybe someone else has the quote.
  2. I plan to stick them on top of a rocket to see how they fare as a payload shroud. If only because I like to be different. :-)
  3. Looks like they are changing their direction, or at least diversifying. Of course that includes some new, actually more like old technology as the LauncherOne SLV will have an RP-1/LOX engine.
  4. Unless that mod changes this, you can always transmit science data, as long as the vessel it is contained in has an antenna and enough electricity. Just right click the module where the data is, select "Review Reports" and click "Transmit" for all the reports you want to transmit. "Keep Data" just puts the data back in the cupboard so you don't have to transmit everything you've done, just the thing you want to.
  5. Others have mentioned many things you may or may not have considered, but I'll add one: When calculating your burn time for circularization, did you consider that as your LV-909 burns fuel, your ship keeps getting lighter and lighter. It certainly did not have a mass of 5.294 tons after the burn.
  6. I set up my KSP installation as a GIT repository and made a startup script that commits the save folder everytime the game exits (or crashes). That should save me from losing two (yes, TWO! My PC has some weird timeline-altering abilities.) sessions worth of gameplay to Kraken attacks. Then I played a bit in sandbox, designing some planes, flying them around and not learning to land them. Poor Jeb and Bill, may they rest in pieces peace.
  7. Soonâ„¢ implies the work has started. A Whileâ„¢ implies work has not started. I think. Or is that I Thinkâ„¢?
  8. What is awesome? There was some discussion about a radially attached cockpit canopy a long time ago. Just after .24.2 had been released and the reworked Mk1 parts were the talk of the day. IDK if it was ever confirmed by the devs though.
  9. Mostly watching the forums. In the few free evenings I get between then and 0.26 I'll try once again to unlock enough parts to get nicely to the Mün & Minmus before next release come along... like I do with every release.
  10. Sorry... It's the other one. I struck out the hype from my post. Again, sorry for letting that stuff slip in here.
  11. Parts damage with meshes deformed dynamically in real time is a good guess. That could require remodelling many parts with enough vertices to allow the deforming at least somewhat follow whatever impacted the part. Some damage effects could be done even without deforming, say, propellant venting from broken tanks. If the venting propellant also acted as a thruster, causing thrust or torque on the ship, flying straight could become impossible, which some (me included) might find hilarious. Of course, X-PERI-MENTALS so we will know it sooner than I though.
  12. Humm... We'll just have to wait and see I guess. Except why not keep up the wild speculation? Destructible KSC has been mentioned a few times. Fuel depot too, and that could certainly count as a building that would allow the destruction to happen more often. You know, storage tanks with volatile chemicals aplenty. :-) The next game changer feature for 0.26 could then be the need to buy your space center buildings. But, you know what else would be an awesome feature? Procedural rockets! Keep failing your missions and get offered a design tailored to the task. Or go visit Jeb at his junkyard if you want to buy one straight away. Unless the algorithm was very advanced, it would be prone to produce, well, hilarious designs. This in turn would pave way for competing space programs.
  13. A tall launch stability enhancer? You know, for easier launch than a rolling take-off. It doesn't explain the rest of it though.
  14. Wasn't it shown to be on the other side of Astronaut Complex? Than the mystery thing. My guess is TV tower for broadcasting quiz shows, hence the request against wild speculation. ;-)
  15. What, why would you send poor Bill Kerman through the mail service?
  16. Of course it isn't. The "cargo bay" is a bomb bay upside down.
  17. Who is the author? Is the code even for sale? What is the asking price when it is known that they need it for stuff they already bought? How long would the negotiations take? Do they even have cash in hand for new acquisitions? Too many unanswered questions to consider "just buy it" any simpler than coding their own.
  18. In software development, as in all life, "not hard" often does not mean "not laborious." A seemingly simple functionality may require dozens of tiny changes in apparently completely unrelated places just to keep old stuff from breaking. Of course good design can alleviate that, but then you spend time coming up with the good design for the new stuff instead. And who knows what else Squad wants to use the new module for? They have said and demonstrated they want to make robust and adaptable features.
  19. Also Firespitter source license is not friendly towards inclusion into stock. Squad's lawyers probably told them not to even glimpse at that. Which kind of makes it difficult to replicate the exact functionality. I know this legal stuff is stupid, but what can you do especially when running a business? You either cover your butt at all times or sooner or later someone owns it in court.
  20. If this isn't totally Kerbal then what is? http://youtu.be/9jK-NcRmVcw
  21. It could also be completely the other way round. Fail too much, and you get demoted to a pilot. You no longer can choose your contracts or missions, instead you're just given a predesigned rocket and a job to do. Succeed in enough of these and you may get your manager's desk back, along with some advice to choose more carefully what you try to accomplish in the future. The 90% groundwork could be the system to decide you've failed too much, and you would notice it through your available contracts list becoming almost empty. You might also see some already completed scripted contracts ("make altitude record" and "achieve orbit" kind of contracts) coming back. Then 0.26 would just add the predesigned rockets and dialog explaining what you now must do, making the new system visible and part of the gameplay. This might even be the starting mode, in full career mode at least. You have to show you got what it takes before you're given the go ahead to have at it. Of course, it could be something completely different. In fact I think it's quite likely it is something completely different.
