  1. I decided to make a stock Soyuz-TMA that would launch atop a Soyuz-U rocket. I wasn't really happy with any of the other stock Soyuz out there. I made this and to my surprise it worked very well. So here it is: On pad Launch Booster Separation Nose Cone Jettisoned Core Stage Core Stage separation and Third Stage firing Reaching Space Orbital Burn Soyuz-TMA separates from Third Stage Orbiting Descent Reentry Parachute and Landing Downloads 100% Stock (Without SP)- http://www./view/l93nhg2yay92b41/Stock%20Soyuz%20(V2_1)%20NSP.craft 99% Stock with Resized Solar Panels- http://www./download/osmvt028zb6zn90/Soyuz-U.zip Action Groups 1-Deploys Solar Panels 2-Jettisons top nosecone. 3-Jettisons LES. Abort-The LES will fire, detaching the descent and orbital modules of the Soyuz from the rocket and carrying them away. The user can then manually decouple the orbital module and deploy the parachutes. Pros/Cons -Only has around 250 parts, so it does not lag at all on high power PCs and will not lag much on low power ones. Most other stock Soyuz available have a lot of part complexity, so they can be very laggy. -Very fuel efficient. The core stage will last from launch all the way almost into space. The third stage then just has to burn for a little bit, wait for Apogee, and burn for a few seconds to make orbit with plenty of fuel to spare. -Works very well with MechJeb. -The Soyuz-TMA orbiter has plenty of fuel and RCS for orbital rendezvous and docking with space stations, as well as for deorbiting. Once docked, the Orbital Module on the Soyuz can act as an extra Hab-module for the space station. -The Soyuz-TMA orbiter is capable of reaching the Mun and making orbit. However, it must be refueled there. If one wishes to launch a more efficient Soyuz mission to orbit the Mun, they should use the remaining Dv in the Third Stage to make the "moon shot" burn, as it ussually has plenty of fuel left upon making orbit. -The only major con is in the notes below. Planned Future Features -Landing Rockets -Perhaps add in the small steering engines the real Soyuz uses. Planned Versions -Progress -Soyuz-Fregat -Cargo version -Molniya -Vostok and Voskhod -Luna (To send probes to the Mun) -R7 Semyorka base rocket (Both ICBM and satellite launcher) NOTES -The Soyuz has a 50/50 chance of exploding when it jettisons its boosters. To eliminate this, use the debug menu to turn on Unbreakable Joints, No Crash Damage, and Part Clipping until boosters have been separated. Do this while still in the VAB before launching. Otherwise it wont work. -The 99% Stock version has resized versions of the Gignator solar panels, resized to 0.7 of original size. They do not replace the existing Giganator part. They are included in said download link. -If you download the 100% stock version, you will have to put the solar panels on yourself. 2. Yes. I dont know why no one has done it yet. It seems like it would be a simple task. Correct me if I am wrong.
  3. What are the coordinates for KSC2? Ive been there before but that was before I downloaded Hyperedit. I just wanted to teleport my rocket there to launch from it. Also, are there any mods that allow you to launch from KSC 2? If not anyone willing to take a request?
  4. Completed OPSEK with one of my two planned Soyuz-TMAs docked. Salyut-5 with Soyuz 14 Docked. Salyut-3 I have made all Salyuts but 6 and 7 as well as Mir. I plan to soon start launching my next generation of refueling stations, the Toplivo series (Russian for "fuel"), which will orbit around Kerbin at 71 km, 100 km, 150 km, Geosynch, and hopefully two around the Mun to refuel and service missions to and from both Interlunar and Interplanetary space.
  5. Here is my incomplete OPSEK station, which will be used for refueling, science, and as a pit-stop for outbound missions to the Mun, Minmus, and beyond. Inspired by the hypothetical station of the same name. Later it will get two more modules with for habitation and solar panels. Soyuz 12 docked. I sent them up to test it's docking abilities and its impact on fps. Once complete I will send up two Soyuz and a Progress every 15 days.
  6. Hello. I just wanted you to know that I made rextextured parts of BobCat's Soyuz rocket to better match your Vostok and its fairings. If you would like I can give you them, however Im not sure Im allowed to considering that they're simply modified versions of BobCat's. They're just recolored anyways. I can give you a screenshot if you like.
  7. I tried everything but eventually realised it was futile. I redid the design into a NASA Space Shuttle clone (though it launched like the one above) and it works better, at the cost of crew space. I just decided I would go with making a Soyuz rocket with a hitchhiker so I could just launch two rockets up to ferry 4 men each to and from orbit. This is actually much safer as although the Shuttles look very interesting upon reentry and a nice smooth landing at the runway, 3-man ones are the highest I can get. Soyuz Orbiter clones do much better because they are so much more reliable, safe, and can carry more men into orbit. In addition, the Soyuz rocket and the Orbiter both look extremely nice.
  8. I will attempt the weight shift first. If that does not work I will use canards. However, I thought the fuel tank and engine were heavier than just a hitchhiker and command pod. Correct me if I am incorrect though.
  9. Mainly, I view it as training for the day when we are forced to expand outwards into our galaxy and perhaps the universe beyond. We need to send people to other worlds for two reasons: 1. To test how human bodies react to long space voyages, lower gravity, and alien environments. It also tests out and trains humans to adapt to lifestyles on other planets. We will one day have to move to other planets, so we need to know how to survive on them. 2. For science. Manned missions allow for people who are experts in their fields to physically and personally examine other planets enivronments. ie.Geologists, Physicists, Astronomers, Biologists, etc.
  10. Hello. I recently docked a habitation module to my space station with room for 20 Kerbals. I intend to crew it with 7 to 14 Kerbals. So, I thought that rather than launch a series of small SSTOs and rockets, I would build a large space-shuttle like Spaceplane with room for 6 or more Kerbals to minimize the number of missions the drop off crew. The Spaceplane is launched from on top of a vertical rocket but comes back down by landing on the runway like a real spaceplane. I have had success with much smaller 1 and 3 man spaceplanes in doing this. However, while I can launch and perform orbital manuvers with this "Jumbo" shuttle rather well, I cannot land it. Every time I renter the atmosphere, no matter how shallow my trajectory is, my spaceplane always and inevitably points downwards. I will post a picture to show what it looks like. What do I need to do to stop this and land my shuttle safely on the runway and how? More lift? More thrust? Less weight?
  11. Interesting. It may be a one time bug. I just hope the space kraken gets fixed soon. I am currently replicating the Voyager 1 and 2 as well as Pioneer 10 and 11, sending them on escape trajectory out of the solar system into interstellar space. By the way, did you hear that Voyager 1 has finally entered interstellar space?
  12. Hello. I just wanted to know is there a limit to how far of the Solar System you can send a ship before the space Kraken hits? I wanted to know because I day ago I checked in on my Voyager-1 probe which was on escape trajectory from the Sun. It had been flying out of the Solar System for around seven years of game time and about two months of real time. It was at around double that of Eeloo's furthest point from the Sun. I went to check on it and all my intruments when black. The screen was flying all over the place wildly. So I was wondering is there a limit to how far out something can go before it starts to glitch out? Thank you.
  13. Yes they were. However most probe parts needed are 1 meter, so the rockets had to be scaled up.
  14. Yes they were. However the parts for making those probes are 1 meter so the rockets had to be scaled up.
