1. Today our Kerbals try to put some footprints on the Moon! =D Real Solar System Ep 15: Lunar Footprints
2.
One thing - Titan does not have an "in space low" biome. The atmosphere starts at 600km (my probe cut it close to burning up at a PE of about 500km) and that is still in the "in space high" range. Should titans atmosphere really stretch that high?
Titan has a CRAZY atmosphere. Its haze starts around 500km, but the main haze that make the photos so awesome starts at like 250km I think? It actually has more mass in its atmosphere than Earth has in ours, but since Titan has a lot less gravity it goes up super high. This is why for a long time Titan was thought to be larger than Ganymede. But there should be some low space above it. I could have sworn I read someone had noticed and fixed that. It may have been in RP-0 however. Not sure.
3. I think it has something to do with KJR. Often when I launch a rocket (using KCT in career mode) it wobbles (Saturn 1 size or larger) when KJR is loading. That prompts the mission to start (clock in top left). If that clock starts then I almost never have LOX by time I am ready for my launch window. What I have been doing is just finding the time, then reverting. Timewarping in the main screen to the appropriate time, then launching again. But with KCT adding scene changes (mem leaks) I'd like to find another option that requires less scene changes. Will probably just use the MM patch for now, but would rather find a fix like upping the pump throughput if possible so I can use RF as intended. =)
4. I know of the mm patch for LOX but before taking such a drastic action, I was curious if anyone knew of a simple solution to helping the FASA launch pumps deal with the LOX boil off on the pad prior to launch. When trying to aim for certain xfer windows, I keep running into issues where my FASA pumps can't refill the LOX tanks on my larger rockets faster than it is boiling off (both in and out of time warp). Is there a mm patch to increase the throughput of the FASA pumps?
5. That is RVE, or more specifically Scatter. As I understand it, and I could be way wrong here, but Scatter doesn't work with Earth, it requires Kerbin, so it renames Earth back to Kerbin. The contracts then go bonkers. RP-0 contracts are fine with this, and is good either way. Earth or Kerbin. But other mods, like ScanSat or others like it, get very confused.
6. Thanks! =) Today we use KOS to launch, Xsfer and land (suicide burn) to the Farside of the Moon. We also start on a rocket to put some footprints on the Moon. =) Real Solar System Ep 14: Farside
7. Right click the engines and at the very top of the tool tip it should say how many "Ignitions Remaining: [number]" Some engines can be relit multiple times, while some, like booster engines, are designed to be lit once. Typically any engines designed to just get you off the ground just needed to be lit once. However, igniting stuff in space proved to be difficult and one of the biggest failure points for rockets. So early engines didn't have many, if any, re-ignitions. For modern engines, most booster still just use one ignition. Modern vacuum engines usually have quite a few (16 to 36).
8. You are too fast! You caught me before I deleted my post. I reread your post and your issue is different than mine. Haven't run into your issue before.
9. Should be cool just to stick with the normal values RP-0 is currently using for the bodies near where the moons/minor planets are. Like Mars for Vista, or Saturn for the new Uranus moons.Never liked the idea that adding more bodies means lowing science returns from visiting places overall. Maybe I'd buy that if all the places were easy, like the the Earth system. But let's be honest, anyone who tours Uranus' moons deserves whatever funds/science you can possibly throw their way. =D
10. It has been a long time since I tried going to either of those, but last time I tried missions to either of them they were harder than Pluto or Mercury. So hard when I finally did get into Deimos' SOI it corrupted my save. =D
11. Is there a way to do RCS directional burns? Looking to automate my ullage for to automate starting my engines. Currently to start burns I'm just disabling the engine, thrust to 1 with RCS active, then when they have fuel re-enabling my engines. Just wondering if it could also be done with RCS w/o needing to disable the engines prior to burns. I can't seem to find much on RCS in the documentation, unless I am just looking in the wrong place. Would also be nice to know if RCS directional burns are possible since that is how I do finetune most of my orbital adjustments in RSS.
12. I got RVE working on my Let's Play Career! \o/Still trying to get Venus and Titan to work. After uninstalling RVE, I can't seem to get EVE to recognize anything. Neither the EVE clouds or the ones you sent me. I tried reinstalling Scatter as it was before doing the RVE patch, and even tried it with the RSS patch that comes with it. None of them seem to help EVE recognize Venus or Titan.
13. The KOS mod is AMAZING! =D Real Solar System Ep 13: Venus Landers using KOS
14. I noticed a few pages back there was some looking into getting "Earth" to work, but not sure if I missed if it was working yet or not? Just tried to install in RP-0 and having contract issues being unable to find an "Earth." I replaced all "Earth" with "Kerbin" in ...\GameData\RP-0\Contracts "*.cfg" but still getting a lot of contract popups. Was wondering if there was a simpler fix for RP0 career mode?
15. Had a popup upon loading my save (RSS-RO-RP0) I don't think it is your mods doing, but the pop-up asked I post it here, so posting it here. =) Output Log: http://puu.sh/l5cBJ/2ab8958c25.zip Edit: I did just try installing RVE which uses the Scatter mod. That is the likely cause for Earth.
16. Forgive the simple question, but is that sea level or atmo. TWR? Cause I've built soooo many rockets only to get them out on the pad and realize I forgot to check the booster stage for SL vs Atmo TWR.
17. Today we pay a visit to Saturn! \o/ Real Solar System Ep 12: Saturn!!
18. Was your lunar escape retrograde or radial to Earth? The more retrograde (the Moon's Retrograde as it orbits Earth) your lunar escape is the lower your perigee will be. A lot of times if getting down that low to the Moon the escape turns radial or normal.
19. That sounds like some sort of temp bug, but dunno. I had the opposite problem happen to me. I did a direct lunar return with Gemini (LEO rated shield), but somehow it all worked out. I was going to lower my orbit prior to reentry. However I had used all my ignitions and somehow managed a direct lunar return. Still have no idea how I didn't blow up. *Shrugs* but I'll take it! =D My reentry perigee was 62km if I remember right. I was hoping to just aerobrake and not land but ended up just landing.
20. That may have to do with the ElectricityFlow.cfg. Nathan suggested I remove it and that solved all my issues. I believe it was removed a while back on Git so in next update that should be fixed.
21. Awesome! Thanks m8. Playing with a Gamini vehicle with an IVA like this is such a WILD new experience from how I've usually played KSP. =)
