Make a wish... and have it horribly corrupted!
Matt_Sharkey replied to vexx32's topic in Forum Games!
Granted, "Some assembly required." I wish I could defeat The Kraken. -
Bump for support. This is a great mod-of-a-mod. Works with 24.2 and MM2.3.4 as far as I can tell. I will report back if there are any problems. I may edit the config to only allow auto mechjeb/engineer on the more advanced pods and probes; reason may dictate that a command pod MKI wouldn't have the space for an on-board flight computer.

Okay, my problem may reside in the fact that it was a contract from 0.55A.....I'm a bad boy. -
[0.90.0] Fine Print vSTOCK'D - BETA RELEASE!!! (December 15)
Matt_Sharkey replied to Arsonide's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Hey just tried out the 0.56A and one major issue is aligning the ascending node to 0 degrees lat. especially when the orbit is an equatorial one. im having a huge problem trying to accomplish this on minimus. -
[1.0.5] Snacks! Kerbal simplified life support v0.3.5
Matt_Sharkey replied to tgruetzm's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Great idea. I'll add this to my list to try out soon. I'm just getting into the modding part of KSP, and I think this will fit in nicely. -
Thanks for this great plugin, So far it works great with my G13. More data displayed would always be appreciated, although once you start adding more categories, you will probably have to create a customization .txt or the like for powerusers When it's "waiting for flight..." are you able to grab info from the tracking station on current flights, like a news ticker or sorts. Or even stupid status updates like "Jeb has incinerated one of the applicants, now hiring!" Overall i was just looking for something for the g13 collecting dust, and you delivered; Thanks!

Need some ideal on capturing debris...
Matt_Sharkey replied to Sirine's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Oh god, the Kessler Syndrome! which brings the potential for a cool feature, if an orbital object explodes, they remain as a cloud of debris that has a density based on what object was destroyed, these clouds could have the same orbital mechanics as other objects but can cause damage or drag when encountered with considerable relative velocity. -
50% if you do it once. the total science from one experiment/area is double of the first experiment done. repeats are lowered by 50% of the science received so the sum of all experiments done will be 200%. so do it twice and you'll get 75% .

Geostationary Orbit
Matt_Sharkey replied to RocketScientistsSon's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
TL;DR 2 868.75 km You're on the right track. A Geo-Stationary Orbit is one where the time for one orbit is the same as the time for one sidereal day; 6 hours in Kerbin's case. When your orbit is at 0 degrees inclination (around the equator) then the satellite appear to stay in place with the Planet, however you cannot achieve this at any other spot than the equator. If you think about how you would stay stationary over the north or south pole, this quickly becomes obvious. Each planet is different in their geostationary position; and it depends on 2 variables the mass of the planet (and effectively the gravitational field) and how fast it rotates. Information on various geostationary orbits can be found on the KSP Wiki I suggest you look here in the future for any other bits of info.
