  1. Sympathies, man. Me, I'm waiting on mods and dealing with computer problems; not to mention, I still have the rest of my screenshots from my old game to organize, upload and describe. ("Soon" )
  2. "It's not safe out here! It's wondrous, with treasures to satiate appetites both subtle and gross... but it's not for the timid." (one of my very favorite Trek quotes, by Q or anyone else)
  3. Just caught up with this thread. Love it. (Poor Bob. Twice, even.) For the surface EVA(s), I'm hearing: "Three. Two. One. Drop."
  4. More that I was commenting on the "what if this is all fiction?" direction of the recent questions. Because, well, it is. Great chapter, @Parkaboy. And a fascinating... resolution? For now, at least.
  5. Speaking as a (often frustrated) writer myself: ideas are easy, execution is hard. Further discussion of the subject, however, should probably take place in the thread which Kuzzter helpfully created for exactly that purpose.
  6. I'm a big fan of the new Thundercraft look. More "meh" on the Lightning, but I'm the wrong person to ask about spaceplanes.
  7. "In a sense, who knows? Our reality may be very much like theirs. All this might just be an elaborate simulation running inside a little device sitting on someone's table." -- Jean-Luc Picard, TNG "Ship in a Bottle"
  8. Please, people, do not quote multiple screenshots (the entire post's worth) just to add a one-line question or comment.
  9. erm, try Pink Floyd, 1967-68. (that's right, the song is (slightly) older than me, and dates from the original Space Age)
  10. Must admit I'm not a fan of the faux Cryllic, or at least that particular font, either. Enjoying everything else very much, though!
  11. "Personally, I liked the university. They gave us money and facilities, and we didn't have to produce anything. You've never been out of college! You don't know what it's like out there. I've worked in the private sector. They expect results." "For whatever reasons, Ray, call it 'fate', call it 'luck', call it 'karma', I believe that everything happens for a reason. I believe that we were destined to get thrown out of this dump." "For what purpose?" "To go into business for ourselves."
  12. been thinking about this for a while, and finally hammered the lyrics into shape today (to post in another thread). If anyone with a better voice and video-making abilities wants to actually (re)set this to music, go for it. inspired, of course, by this song from South Park: His name is Jeb (Jeb!) Kerman The bravest pioneer No plan too mad, no S so Bad Who's that? It's him! Jeb Kerman! Jeb (Jeb!) Kerman Explorer of the void He's passed the test to be the best Could it be? Yeah, that's him! Jeb Kerman!

  14. "Wonderful! Time for a celebration! Cheese for everyone! Wait, scratch that - cheese for no one. That can be just as much of a celebration if you don't like cheese, true."
  15. well, 1., it doesn't say you can't turn that off; 2. I gather some form of stock cutaway view is coming with 1.1.
  16. You people need to learn to wait. I'm pretty sure it's gotten *cough* someone set on "ignore" by at least one author already. New chapters, like game updates, will come when they are ready. Cool your jets.
  17. She explicitly declined to name leaders, merely suggesting that each crew should choose their own, and work it out from there. She has a lot of faith in her fellow survivors.
  18. Ha! Oh, that's the perfect (evil!) application of access to the persistence file, yes. Bravo, sir. Also for mirror-Val smackin' kerbs around.
