  1. I was thinking that RD-107/108 engines could use a mass increase since they're more efficient than IRL as we don't have to schlepp all the peroxide around. Or a HTP consumption rate could be added, maybe without the need for high pressurisation so everything could fit in one regular tank.
  2. Ah yes, the magic of KVV I'll keep it updated as new rockets come along. And maybe annotate it at least with the names/countries of origin. Edit: duh, you meant the original poster. I feel stupid now...
  3. Here we go I'm starting to notice that my constant jumping from past to present tense in the narration could be irritating. Does it bother you? Which would you prefer?
  4. Thanks for the link! I must say, it looks more "real" and the reduced RAM footprint is a welcome bonus. So this one it is
  5. Part 21 is probably coming on Sunday Featuring Japanese suborbital efforts and first satellite, and a lunar flight heavily inspired by NASA's Lunar Orbiter missions in the late 1960s.
  6. Only for three months though. As we all know, that's way too short to do everything you want to
  7. Ha, thank you for being a loyal watcher -What does the Biosat's capsule (the part you left in space) contain? Mostly batteries, RCS fuel and, uh, oxygen bottles and CO2 scrubbing equipment, I guess. There's also an Infernal robotics rotatron that should have spun the capsule up prior to decoupling, but it didn't want to function. -If the return capsule is only carrying very-low-maintenance life forms and does not need any form of avionics, why the battery problems? There is a probe core inside, I needed some way to separate the heat shield -It is very possible to do a direct Lunar injection from Hammaguir. Well yes, but you need to use a dogleg maneuver. Otherwise you end up 2° off or so. -The screenshot for the Metis separation from the final stage is very unclear: bright background and tiny craft. That's why I'm installing Rareden's skybox, it should prevent such blunders in the future -I'd have liked a screenshot just before impact. Yikes, it's a bit too late for that. The screenshot folder was purged after submitting :/ -However, the HF-7's wing placement is atrocious Agreed! I could say that due to its low thrust, it's quite a bit slower than the X-15 on ascent, so maybe the shape and drag are a little less important, but the truth is... I just went with the first thing that worked. It will be redesigned
  8. I admit I have mostly been skimming through the pictures up until now, but I just read the part 8 and it's really well though out and interesting. Kudos! Are there going to be political troubles throughout the series or is it more of a world-building thing?
  9. So I promised part 20 would be done by Wednesday and...well, I did upload the images, but couldn't find the time for the text earlier. Here it is though: It's a balance between being a foul mouth and not wanting to receive infractions As for recording/screenshotting etc., go for it! Sharing is like half the fun.
  10. Never really properly thanked you for making FASA, so I guess that's as good a time as any. Merci beaucoup for all of the great stuff! I hope you will find time to visit the forums still
  11. Alrighty then, I'll post them here. Hope you don't mind. 1) What happened to the carrier craft after you switched to the HF-6? 2) What engine powered the HF? 3) Why doesn't the HF use parachutes? 4) Which mod has those awesome folding landing legs? 5) I love the informative sections. 6) What are those long grey rods on the 'Chenai'? 7) I can hardly wait for more. When's more? 1) There's a probe core inside so it can fly unmanned, so no lives are lost when it inevitably gets unloaded. 2) XLR-11. It's a bit underpowered. 3) X-1 didn't use them either 4) For the plane? That would be [Adjustable landing gear.](http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/99660-1-0-Adjustable-Landing-Gear-v1-2-0-%28mass-cost-scaling-tech-nodes-drag%29-May-30) 5) Thank you! I'm constantly afraid of getting things wrong... 6) the RPWS instrument from the DMagic science mod looks like that when deployed. 7) Oof...Tuesday evening, maybe? Thanks, it's always good to hear people like it! As for Watney... in what way? =D
  12. Yeah, yeah, heard you the first time Nothing really exciting going on, but I have to lay some groundwork before getting to more...interesting stuff
  13. Hmm, I have more than enough of a backlog to do it, and some free time tonight...we'll see
  14. You know that feeling when you stumble upon a TV show, or book series, or webcomic, and there's a large backlog of content that you can pore over all at once? Yeah, this is not it, mostly because of lacking quality. The series started half a year ago, but only ever posted on Reddit because of... reasons unknown to mankind. I have no intention of stopping anytime soon, but the first 18 parts are out and I hope you will forgive me for unceremoniously dumping them here Oh, and I'd suggest opening the albums in Imgur. Half the text is left out when embedded and the display size, all around, is weird. - - - Updated - - -
  15. I don't think Ranger's panels could rotate, but otherwise it seems like a perfect replica Nicely flown!
  16. Looks very nice! As a side note, I can hardly wait for the release of Real KSC
  17. Thank you so much for updating it! I put together a quick RO config file for the engines a while ago, as the one from HoneyFox didn't seem to work. If anyone is interested: https://github.com/KSP-RO/RealismOverhaul/blob/master/GameData/RealismOverhaul/REWORK/RO_CZ3B.cfg
  18. Dankeschön! I'll need to test this out. IIRC we never even had a Breeze-M/KM model before, and yours seems fantastic
  19. Update 1.3.5 is done! And by "update" I mean "small change". The grey fairing version got its texture size increased to a less eye-violating 1024x1024 resolution, and received new interior textures. The cable was an afterthought, which is probably why it looks out of place That's great to hear, thanks! I'm glad you like it. As for making every texture available- some look weird when applied to a differently shaped cone. Procedural Fairings- for everything! has this functionality, though.
  20. Dr. jet, I think this is the carbon dioxide compressor part for the one on ISS. Then there's this: And this, although neither is very detailed.
  21. Sure! Do you know anything about this that hasn't been posted yet?
  22. Agreed, though I doubt the intended use is for stationkeeping, especially with some companies beginning to move onto electric propulsion for geostationary sats. Probes and manned spaceflight, most like
  23. Not sure that's quite correct. Monopropellants such as hydrogen peroxide, hydrazine etc. typically thermally decompose when run through a catalyst material. There is no oxidiser to speak of.
