  1. Guess I'll have to release this sometime http://i.imgur.com/AXPdevH.png?1
  2. Huh, I thought Iran basically halted all spending on its space program this spring. It's nice to be proven wrong.
  3. Me too, but it's not like we can do anything about it.
  4. From what I've heard, the most likely scenario is an eventual heat death. Star-forming material will eventually run out, but that's projected to happen a few trillion years from now at the soonest, so don't worry.
  5. Two LR91s power the first stage already I'm aiming for a Delta II payload class, an upper stage that big would be overkill.
  6. Yikes, thanks for saving me from having to scrap all of that once TestFlight is updated Okay... LR-105 it is, then. I think there were plans to use it on a B-52-launched plane, so that sounds close enough
  7. Does anyone know whether the General electric X-405 engine (used on Vanguard) could, hypothetically, be started and run in near-vacuum? I've made a 3-stage rocket that uses two of these for its second stage, it works well enough, but I'd rather not break suspension of disbelief
  8. @Kartoffelkuchen: actually OtherBarry messaged me said they could make them by this weekend. I hadn't started on them yet so it was fine by me
  9. Yesss! Do you still need someone to write the RO configs? I'm game This should be good enough for reference.
  10. I found that looking at real-world vehicles and concepts helps. This should keep you going for, say, the next few months http://www.spaceflight101.com/launch-vehicle-library.html http://b14643.de/
  11. True. I don't know if it's intentional or not, but it's certainly a bit confusing. If one forgets to install RSS and does so manually later, there are..glitches. The ground around space centres either uses a very dark brown texture or is black, there are issues with lighting (parts and buildings illuminated from another angle than the Sun is at), and spontaneously the "interior" of the planet is visible (similar to this) To counter that: in CKAN, tick the RSS checkbox along with Realism Overhaul, choose a texture set and proceed as normally. Everything should work fine, or at least it did for me.
  12. Hey there, I made one extra texture on FlexGunship's request. It can be downloaded here. I'm not going to spoil it, but it's both comfy and not exactly realistic @curtquarquesso: Give this mod a try. It includes a stepped fairing shape (like this; it's the outermost one)
  13. OP updated to version 1.3.1, only a couple of .cfg fixes this time around. New textures coming soonish.
  14. People should know that Victoria being laid off is not the only cause of this. A big problem is that the (volunteer) moderators helping her out weren't notified, and no staff replaced her role, so people who already had interviews scheduled (celebrities, scientists etc.) were left in the dark and had no-one to contact. If everyone were notified a day ahead and a proper replacement was present, it would possibly still be a ****show, but not on this magnitude.
  15. I'll update this weekend. Sorry it takes so long, but I'll have to make sure everything's compatible with the new PF release...aaand also include a requested texture set
  16. Right. You can include everything in the "Soyuz" and "Tsyklon" folders the rest still use CBBP's interior texture and I'm afraid I can't license them per CC-BY. I'll work on it soon though!
  17. It's certainly possible, but if the stock fairing is made out of several segments, it will look weird. Meaning boattail+nosecone on every segment. Maybe if I just included the middle section...
  18. So you're not going to update it anymore?
  19. So I've done some teeny tiny progress on the Soyuz. Needs moar greebles. Any suggestions? Edit: added some.
  20. Ok, what can I do to make them more, uh...compatible? The mapping is the same as the original PF and blackheart's textures AFAIK. Or are you changing it?
  21. Excellent idea! If I'm understanding correctly, this makes you pick a fairing shape first and then switch the texture to your liking?
  22. @Agathorn: Is there a roadmap on who's working on what engine? I'd like to contribute RO configs, but if anyone else is doing the same thing it would be nice to know
  23. Hey, I'm gonna do a shameless self-plug and say that my Black Arrow-ish texture for PF is now available here: (among others) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/99520841/KSP/Gryphon%20fairings%20v1.2.zip The interior is on the right, but obviously still WIP. I'll update it soon.
  24. OP updated to version 1.2. On a related note, I'm noticing some compression artefacts in 1.0.4 even when directly exporting from .xcf files. Weird.
