1. For anyone who missed it last Thursday (I know I did), Polygon posted a sneak peek of the KSP Xbox One version (discuss here):
2. That's unfortunate, but thanks for letting us know relatively early Kasper... I hope the delay is because of good news, looking forward to the notes tomorrow!
3. @SQUAD Could we have terrain scatter collision detection pretty please? This was already long overdue when this thread was created 1.5 years ago, so if you could put it on the list for 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 it'd be much appreciated! (if you're short on hands/time, get @Thomas P. to work his magic )
4. Same, personally I find there's hardly any immersion in the current career mode... no weekly/monthly/annual budgets and other time-based mechanics, no real incentive to create infrastructure throughout the solar system, no meaningful science to explore and understand the planets and star(s)... Based on current career Squad should reconsider renaming Kerbal Space Program to Kerbal Space Side Quest
5. It's a shame that mod was discontinued, you could leave your carrier in the atmosphere with SAS on while getting your spacecraft in orbit, then come back and land your carrier. kOS seems to have an option to increase the 'physics bubble' as well, if I understand the relevant documentation correctly. However, I haven't had the time to play around with it... has anyone else tried? (I also heard BDArmory can extend the unloading range).
6. Great dev notes! Looking forward to seeing the new wheel mechanics in action. On that note, would you be able to add some short lived tire tracks and wheel generated dust/ice particles? Would be great when performing Duna donuts and Dres drifting sessions!
7. Here are some of Harv (the Shadow) and Moach's original blueprints for Kerbals (and rockets) posted in this thread. Now that you have the necessary specifications you can build your own Kerbal, please be sure to share your creations on the forum I agree it would be great to see Harv and Moach's original tinfoil crew designs though.
8. Great list, I also agree with most suggestions. One other thing that should be added is a change in drag value when air intakes switch between open/closed mode. If this won't be changed, remove the "close intake" option (though that would not be my reference).
9. I was never a big fan of the idea and design of "the barn", it also doesn't make sense since kerbals don't seem to require any nutrition. Barns also seem quite mundane (word of the month), I'd much rather see bac9 come up with something creative. Personally, I wouldn't mind something like Aztec/native american themed tier 0 buildings. As a background story, kerbals would've built these structures after discovering the KSP monolith which awakened their interest in the stars/planets. Also, it'd be a nice nudge to Mexico where KSP has its origin/development. I could totally see structures based on the ones below being used for observation of the heavenly bodies and launching a first generation of explosive flying devices in a (un)certain direction: /my 2 cents
10. Looks like you made yourself three Norwegian UFO stargates, well done! NB: Do(n't) read the comments on the video, they're absurd
11. Greatest post of 2016! I particularly love the thread tags and that so many peeps are getting their knickers in a twist For 1.0 I suggested "Shoulda done beta"... Catchy AND accurate, alas, it was never implemented (did get me an infraction so not all was for naught).
12. Great devnotes! One question: since you're releasing the various console versions soon, will that mean all features will be fully incorporated/worked out (e.g. terrain scatter with collision meshes, updated rocket parts, long list of other stuff...)?
13. here ya go... Official and all from the second last devnotes. Great craft Red Dwarf!
14. Option to disable/hide reputation and other irrelevant interweb point tracking systems
15. Option to change the number of posts per page (25 are way too many imo, particularly when using a mobile device)
16. Add an option to disable avatar gifs (I'm not epileptic and would prefer to keep it that way)
17. I like 1 and 4 a lot. Other abilities I'd like to see included: maintain angle of incidence maintain altitude I think this should be implemented independent of whether a pilot is on board or not.
18. That was truly fantastic! Great engineering skills there mate!
19. Pro tip: Please don't post threads if you got no images to show.Or more simply said: "No pics, no clicks".* Pro-tip 2: Edit your existing posts instead of creating new threads, no matter how much cutting edge future there is to behold *this may be a mild case of plagiarism on my part, plz don't sue...
20. great dev notes thanks guys! Also for working through your holidays, just make sure you don't burn yourselves out and take at least Christmas day off and your two weeks of holiday as soon as 1.1 is released ( make that 1.1.1 )... @Dr_Turkey I know, I'm fired... I'll let myself out Any news on the thing rhyming with "shmelta vee" btw? We ve been waiting awfully long for that now and it would make a very nice new years prezzy!
21. 1.1 is not released yet, so hypothetically the mods wont work with it either... check out which mods of your preference are updated for KSP 1.0.5 in the mod subforum. (hold on I'll get you a link... right here) inb4 witty/snarky comments
22. Your first sentence answers your second... since useful suggestions also get "buried in hundreds of pages" in the the Suggestions and Development Discussion, I thought it'd be better to tag Kasper here so he can take the appropriate steps to circumvent these problems. Also, that is what tagging is for, n'est-ce pas? Also, my particular request is the most important one of all
23. While I'm not the biggest fan of the new forum layout in general, I actually quite like the new Q&A format. You can easily find the best/most appropriate answer when viewing the thread initially, then click the "Sort by Date" button to follow any discussion if you're interested. I wouldn't mind this format implemented in the "Suggestions & Development" section either, would be very useful. @KasperVld @Mods
24.
The lack of polls in suggestions and development were removed because they gave a very skewed picture: - User A suggests a feature, and adds a poll: "should this be added to the game?" - Users B and C come along, are not interested in the topic because the suggestion doesn't speak to them and don't even open it - User D comes along, is interested in the topic, opens it and votes yes on the poll Now this is a bit extreme but essentially we used to have a lot of polls there with this exact same pattern: a very large majority of voters supported the feature mentioned while in reality many more users would most likely not think it's a good or necessary addition to the game. The poll results were quite meaningless but were used to argue that a large portion of the playerbase would support the feature being added to the game. We actually read a lot of the suggestions and discussions in that forum, though we don't usually reply to them :)
Thanks for your reply Kasper, it's good to know the Suggestions and Development forum is being read by the mods and devs :) What I meant, however, was not a poll-like system but something like a +1 option for individual posts ([s]somewhat like reddit's upvote system[/s]... I did not say this on these forums for the record, please holster your pitchforks), for example: -User A posts a decent suggestion, get's 12 upvotes -User B uses builds upon initial suggestion, get's 30 upvotes -User C proposes dubious alternative, get's 2 upvotes -User R* makes a snarky remark, get's 115 upvotes If you could then have an option to sort the posts in a thread by most upvotes, you should be able to filter out quality (and regex's*) posts quite quickly. Not sure if it's possible, but it might be handy. * You were the first to come to mind, who'd have guessed?
25. Looking forward to the new forums, though a bit sad there won't be any blogs anymore :( @ Mods, would it be possible to add a voting system (positive only perhaps) for individual posts in the "Suggestions and Development" subforum? That way useful posts should be easier to identify by users and Squad and won't be buried quite as quickly... this might also be handy in the "Gameplay Questions" section.
