  1. The KSP Reddit is having it's last challenge. This is my entry: http://imgur.com/WoEDeHK NORMALLY, I go for small and efficient. But this time, I summon my inner Whackjob. It carries 66 Kerbals (The number of Reddit Weekly Challenges); THREE is the minimum for a flair. This has to go on a Solar Escape/ Holy Saviour of Huge Rockets, I summon thee to bless my rocket with stability and 1 FPH (Frame Per Hour)
  2. Tip 6: MOAR BOOSTERS! (Not really.) Tip 7: MOAR STRUTSSSS! (But don't overdo it!) Tip 8: Smaller can be better!
  3. Granted, but you've been given no experience and crash it. I wish for one dollar fresh from the US treasury
  4. I, too, think that a quick KSP session would teach kids that it is not: "Straight up and you're in orbit!", and that rocket science isn't as hard as is perceived.
  5. Welcome!get out before it sucks you in! You'll never come back out!
  6. Thanks for the survey; I have a new Scott Manley video to watch!
  7. Could I, for example, be a company that has some money and allows newer players to have contracts from me?
  8. Yeah, SRB's (the yellow rockets you started with) and liquid engines are very different: SRB's have fuel and engine in the same part, and they are unable to throttle down until they run out of fuel! Liquid engines require a fuel tank part. To use them, you press shift to throttle up, and then space to activate (when they are in staging.) Watch Scott Manley's* videos for beginners! (If you don't know, Scott Manley is pretty much KSP's Holy Saviour. He is so good at the game!) Good luck! With Love, LexiSilva
  9. Welcome back! You're way older to the game than me (.18 baby). You'll get back into it soon! <3
  10. Is there a mod that has a lot of NASA parts (scaled down, of course). If so, can somebody link me to it?
  11. I'm going to do this tomorrow: I am going to try using actual mathematics (and calculating at school). Just wait for it!
  12. I am doing my best to learn the math of orbital mechanics, to help me do better in KSP (not having bad rockets when playing stock). One thing I need to learn to do is calculate the delta-V required to capture oneself when coming in a hyperbolic orbit. No, I do not want to use delta-V maps. How would I be able to calculate the needed delta-V? Related question: How would I calculate how much velocity an aerobraking/aerocapture maneuver would bleed off?
  13. I take your hill, and push it somewhere else! Then I build mine where yours used to be. Your hill, my location!
  14. 7/10: I like the logo! And congrats on surviving!
  15. I know how to calculate vacuum Delta-V, but what is the equation to measure atmospheric Delta-V? EDIT: Figured it out as soon as I posted it! You just use the atmospheric ISP, right?
  16. I made a rocket that reaches 7000 m/s after burning constantly from launch pad (straight up). That work?
  17. I'm looking for a week-long project, not Hell! I'll do it!
  18. So I am on vacation for the week (school), and I have been facing a decline in my self-confidence. I am guessing because I don't have anything to do! Are there any inspiring mission plans that might last me the week?
  19. This was something I made in five minutes, because I didn't feel like spending all night on it... thank you though!
  20. http://variedmind.weebly.com/uploads/2/6/2/4/26244365/9786483_orig.png I took a picture of the United States space shuttle, and I overlayed the HUD of Kerbal onto it! I hope you guys like it!
  21. Do you try to do everything that is possible? Master it? Do you try building the biggest/smallest things that could work? Do you get stressed or do you try relaxing when things blow up? Speaking of which, do you try to blow things up? I play KSP (and Minecraft) as therapeutic tools to let myself relax and enjoy myself. I tend to build efficient, small rockets to get the job done and that's it! I play sandbox mode, and sometimes I goof off. Like yesterday, I built a plane with only a regular SRB as propulsion, but with sepatrons to lift it up. Other times, I try landing Kerbals on KSC buildings!
  22. Soonâ„¢ is the official date for all releases...
  23. Glooooryyy to Artsoo-KERBIN! Don't kill me mein Jeb! In serious news, I think that you shape your program this way by accepting certain contracts already. You already choose to do either research or money, based on which contracts you do!
