  1. https://twitter.com/SpaceflightNow/status/960511620458917890 ok.. no clue how to show tweet direct^^ Its a picture of the Falcon beeing lifted.
  2. 31h ? hmmm... that would be 3 hours too late if my math is not off ^^ wasn't lunch for 18:30 UTC and not 21:30 UTC ?
  3. for alien and everything else sake... 6:30p.m. UTC (18:30) .. UTC !!!!
  4. Factorio ...... last half year went on it.... and the next vacation will be spend in it. I see already my wife in the middle of the night "just 5 more minutes, i need to fix that... oh, why is there suddenly light outside?" ... yeah
  5. one day they will learn to use UTC..... i'm sure....
  6. god thats sad Even my Kerbals cry......and they are for sure used to such misshapes.
  7. E3 , announcement from Bethesda, paid Mods ..... yes, don't fear anything. And oh look, most of the games are singleplayer. Sure, paid mods only for new games.... for now. If you are old enough and already played long enough games you would know, that you can give 0 on "PR said that" or any other "we don't have any plans at the moment" . See Blizzard f.e.
  8. While browsing youtube i found a video from a german kids show (Die Sendung mit der Maus) where they explain how a rocket motor from the Arianne 5 is build and how exactly it works. Unfortunally only in german, the automatical generated english subtitels are sometimes a "bit" funny..... And yes, video is already many years old. Maybe someone finds the video still interesting
  9. The problem is, at least for me, that the "Chicken Littles" are already very old and therefor have already seen alot of good games/companys been bought by big publisher and know what happend to them. Short list maybe? Westwood Studios (Command &Conquer, Eye of Beholder) -> killed by EA , Origin Systems (Wing Commander, Ultima) -> killed by EA , Bullfrog -> killed by EA Sierra -> eaten by Activision , BlueByte -> bought by Ubisoft, after that all the good games went bad (Settler, Silent Hunter) So, yeah, we can happy that not EA/Ubisoft bought Squad. Just expect the worst and you won't be disappointed.
  10. Thanks KSP for the nice time we had together and the many hours. Congratulation for the staff, you have now nice carreer opertunities. But i don't see much hope for the game future. Take-Two is not far behind Ubicrap and EA in terms of bugfree games and customer support.
  11. Thanks for the guide, just needed it. One suggestion: add one step for the SHIPS folder, as some mods add .craft files and CKAN stops installing (as usual^^) if it finds them because no overright rule.
  12. developing a game to the state where KSP is at the moment costs around 7-10 million EUR, based on my work experience with american/european/asian developers. on a "normal" game 80% of the sales are done within the first 3 month after release. KSP could be bought before the "release" on steam, so its hard to estimate how many copys where sold via steam for the steam price. Before steam the game also only costs 20? EUR. Before you release a game, well, you first have to develop it Which costs already money that you have to spend from your own pocket. Then you earn money after the release (as said, most of the money directly at release). If the game was successful, you have enough money to develop further. The game itself and your next chance to own money, as you costs still go on. In best case they made around 40 million from the sale of KSP on steam, but as many had bought the game already before, that number is too optimistic. So, yeah, they have(had) money to go on, but not much. And i guess they want to keep KSP alive for couple more years or develop a new game, so, yes, fresh money is needed. Looking at my steam library, which contains 32 games, KSP would have the most hours, if i would have it on steam..... never transferred it. Other games i have and that i played through are f.e. GTA5.... not interested in multiplayer, so 50 hours only. For a higher price i paid for KSP with way less hours. So, alone from that point, i'm happy to pay for a DLC that supports one of my favorite games.
  13. in that case the better solution would be the mod "stage recovery" . You still need parachutes/probe but don't have to worry about the 25km rule and jumping between ships.
  14. close to 40 here.... but i love the Kerbals Have waaaay more sympathy for this little green walking heads then for a "human" like creature , if it would be in this game. This little chaotic guys fit perfectly to this game, where you can do crazy stupid but also serious stuff. Humans would never ever touch a duck-tape glued together 5 layer asparagus ship^^
  15. i noticed the "burning up" already couple times even if the stage shouldn't at all (enough parachutes , low flight profile etc). What i could see so far this happens if you time warp too early, f.e. after circulation you drop the stage with retro rockets (to slow it down enough for re-entry) and then time warp. Stage burns up. But if you wait some time for the stage to get deep enough into the atmosphere again the stage will be recovered.
  16. the work one uses around 600mb MORE after loading a savegame ::) Thats the fun part^^ *edit* just to clarify : initial thread post was about win10 vs win7 , why on win10 i can use more mods then on win7 . I now took the copy of the win7 version to my win10 and have the same RAM usage. So its not the windows version that makes the difference but it seems a mod uses all the ram^^
  17. Ok... tested now at home with the copy from work. Same RAM usage, no difference. So it seems an addon makes problems, as on that KSP version i use waaaayyy less addons (specialy part mods/grafic mods) then on my normal KSP version. Found also some errors in the log, but i don't think they cause the problems. Just for comparision. WORK: HOME:
  18. sure Unfortunaly not before monday, need to get the "work" version home
  19. Hi, i noticed some strange behaviour with KSP under WIN7 (work pc) and 10 (home pc), both time KSP x64 The game is played on 2 different PCs with similar mod list with WIN10 PC using way more mods, specially stuff like EVE and part mods. On work pc the game uses around 3gb after loading, up to 6gb of RAM after playing some time and crashes because the PC has only 8gb . On home pc the game uses after loading around 2.5gb and then goes slowly up to 5-7gb. Then it drops back down to 2.5gb . This PC has 12gb of RAM. Is the WIN10 so much better for KSP ? Or why does it uses way more RAM on WIN 7 ? her a screen after playing for around 2h: http://imgur.com/a/xEzbk *edit* in case someone wants to know: work PC I-5 2500, GTX 960, 8GB RAM, WIN7 home PC i-7 860 , Radeon 5860, 12GB RAM, WIN10
  20. just leaving a "Thank you" for caring about nice sat parts Keep up the good work.
  21. Yes. KSP uses then up to 35% CPU according to task manager and ingame the date goes from green to yellow, so as far as i understand the CPU can't keep up or? I deactivated all antennas on all unused sats, only 9 sats remain with connections. I have the feeling it got better, but not sure yet.
  22. playing since looong time with RT but never asked for a "problem" i get after some time. After some time and therefor some (38) probes/lander/stations , all with RT connections, the CPU usages goes up. The timer goes from green to yellow just by watching a probe floating in space. So far i just send some probes/RT relays to Duna and Eve. Could that be a problem of RT ? Would deactivating antennas on unused sats help? If yes, is there a easy way to deactivate them via tracking station (also the omni ones) or do i have to go through all probes?
  23. http://spaceflightnow.com/launch-schedule/ Just check that page daily. I try to and still miss the launches -.-
  24. hope all my mods work still.... didn't even started 1.2 yet cause of missing mods -.- Would be a shame to have to wait even longer. About the description text: on a kinda known browser game the servers are named after greek numbers.... now check what number 7 is and then release a server named like that in spain. Fun guaranteed.....
