  1. I present to you: Blue Rover Outpost on the surface of Laythe. The rover can park under the base, rise up on struts, and connect to a docking clamp on the underside to easily transfer drivers and clean out science equipment. In the background is a spaceplane capable of transporting up to six passengers between surface and orbit.

Now that is a sweet and sporty-looking rover

  2. I play KSP on my Envy dv6 laptop (core i7, 8GB RAM, GeForce GT630m,) using the touchpad, running Windows 8.1 64bit

    Version build id = 00705

    NOT steam.

    Playing in fullscreen

I finally got around to posting about this:

Windows 8.1 has this feature where swiping in from the right side on the touchpad brings up the right-side sidebar full of what Windows calls 'charms': Search, settings, etc. Prior to 0.90, this has not been a problem. Since installing .90 (fresh download/unzip, not an update), if I accidentally swipe (wanting to move the cursor) too close to the right edge of my touchpad the sidebar comes up and minimizes KSP. Fortunately, this rarely happens during critical times like when about to land. The game is still running and I can bring it back up and continue playing, but it gets annoying when it starts happening often. Of course, this also happens in windowed mode and KSP doesn't minimize then, but I don't like windowed mode (can't see the edges of the window).

This happens in my usual lightly modded install. Prior to posting I downloaded and installed, er, unzipped a fresh unmodded version, but still had this problem.

Is there any way to stop this from happening? It didn't happen at all in previous versions. I searched and browsed this forum but didn't find any reference to this.

  3. And I don't like to give extra hints, but Stranded I'll say that some of those inferences are wrong.

    By inference, some are right.

The election of the first female leader of some country? A Google search found this article that lists 5 such candidates, elected since 2000

  4. When you're on the action groups tab, click a part on your rocket. The possible actions for your rocket will appear on the right. Choose the button on the left you want to use to trigger an action, then pick the action you want from the right. The actions assigned to that button will appear in the middle. You can assign multiple parts and actions to the same button. Parts placed using symmetry will all trigger, no need to click each one (you may need to reassign the actions if you move the part, however).

The tier 2 VAB/SPH only has basic action groups, but you can assign other functions to them, like activating solar panels under 'abort,' for instance. Tier 3 lets you assign the 0-9 buttons to actions as well.

  5. Lines 1-2: suggests the first occurence of something that will happen again

Line 3: suggests something unusual happened

Line 4-5: suggests "It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings"

Line 6: suggests it was a good thing

Lines 7-8: Filler to tell us the answer is a certain day

    Since 2000 suggests a specific day/event

    And I still don't have a clue.

The day women were first allowed to vote in some country? Still not a great fit

  6. After a while, another rescue was attempted. I sent a ship with two capsules and a detachable rover. I landed softly as close as I could get (not very) and then very slowly and tediously drove the rover to the crash site, picked up the Kerbal, and drove him back. Rescue accomplished! (eventually)

    .

I can't recall saving a mission in trouble, aside from maybe flipping upside close to landing and still landing alive if not safely. But when it comes to rescues, I'll just build a lander with wheels and drive to the rescue site, then blow off the wheels after lift-off. Here's one such example, just after accidentally ramming the stricken lander (half hidden by the navball):

And here's my Tylo rescue rover (seen during testing), which drove over 100 km to the out-of-fuel lander. The ascent stage is just an FLT-200 and a 48-7s under the command chairs:
