  1. I'm willing to bet it's an attack from a covert Twitch team trying to force us to use their client to download mods.
  2. Hopefully they stop, I've been trying to download mods for an hour or so.
  3. I want to thank you for making these mods. I switched my game to Linux and decided to hunt for mods, not really sure how I found your mod but when I saw your recommended/compatible mod list I decided to try and download everything on it and your mods to help balance everything out. The way you organized everything is outstanding, my experience with mods and KSP have been pretty limited so downloading a ton of mods has been a little frustrating since one research node in stock game will have like 40-50 parts to unlock, so it's very hard to keep up with all the changes. Your tree has helped me get to understand the mods slowly. With all the mods I've downloaded, your tree has been the biggest help with navigating through new technology.
  4. Thanks for the tip, I decided to make the dive back into Linux. Had it for a while about a year ago, then school started getting busy so stopped using linux then eventually that Hard Drive ended up failing. Finally after getting everything back and running, I'm playing with about 140 mods (according to CKAN). Stock is fun but it gets kinda boring for me after a while. I completely suck at this game (I've only landed on the Mun, Minmus, crash landed on Duna and Moho. Had the game since June 2013) but the hard work the Modders and Squad put into this game really make it an enjoyable experience. It frustrates me having to dual boot just to enjoy mods but it's totally worth it.
  5. I think I'm going to have to start playing stock. Once I start downloading mods, it feels like there's a few others I need, then my mod list jumps up to around 50 (most being quality of life mods. ie; more contracts, navball, KER, etc. Only 5 part mods). Then after maybe 40 minutes into a mission, my game resets. Really frustrating.
  6. Okay, just want to comment here again. With the way the search function is on the website, I have turned more often to your post to find mods I'm looking for. Thanks for adding links to everything!
  7. Dang Sirkut, you're on a roll. Haven't gotten to use this mod yet but it has piqued my interest, so I subscribed for updates. For awesome seeing how dedicated you are to the mod. I found it a little humorous when you were struggling with a few things and out of nowhere, omgnull just pops up with his super fix. It's almost like he created the account just to help fix IR. Anyways, thanks for all the work you've put in. And thank you omgnull for helping out.
  8. I think it's normal for Ubuntu to ask for your password when using the terminal to run scripts or other types of things that alter files. At least it has been for me so far.
  9. I'm not able to open your Rar file, is it possible to upload it as a zip?
  10. I think I live in the same world as Regex.... I have never just unzipped files onto my computer. I always open the zip file and pull out what I need. In the case of organizing Kerbal mods, I keep the zip files so that if I need the readme files, I can just go look at them without having to clutter up my KSP Folders.
  11. Fig, are you running the game on steam? Edit (Wanted to add more without posting again): This is my first time using Linux, and the game was giving me lots of trouble, plus the interface and how to install things within Linux were giving me a hard time. The crash you're having, I also had but it was due to the segfaults thing. If you apply Voidi's Script , you shouldn't have the starting up problems anymore. But then after a while, I was messing with too many things and I might've corrupted something, so I reinstalled the game and ran the script again. Game works fine, I have about 60 something mods loaded without ATM loaded (Although I probably should use it, i dunno). Another thing you mentioned, you said you were using an Nvidia card, you really should apply this (again if you're using Steam) LD_PRELOAD="libpthread.so.0 libGL.so.1" __GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATIONS=1 %command%_64 To the Launch options for Kerbal. It gave me a huge performance boost for my GTX 760. I'm using Ubuntu 13.10 to play Kerbal and when I reinstalled, those were the only two things I did to my game and it worked like a charm. The newest drivers for Nvidia also seem to be a little more reliable than the previous versions. One problem I had, when using the Xswat libraries to update my drivers, I kept getting a black screen. I found out that they automatically recommend a file called Bumblebee to help cards running Optimus, which mostly for laptops with two videocards. I had to purge that file before my drivers worked.
  12. Awesome, thanks a lot! your mods are pretty fun
  13. Is it normal to see the default tree load first, then Ackanders' tree load up immediately after in the R&D screen? Edit: This happens EVERYTIME I go into R&D
  14. I took a break and didn't really use mods before. Now that I'm back, I went on a mod downloading binge, had kerbal crash because of memory limit. Downloaded ATM, played some more, downloaded more mods, crashed again. Downloaded Linux, took forever getting it set up, then saw this mod.... This will complete me... I've never used this mod before but it looks really fun.
  15. After going through all my mods, I've found that Romfarer's Lazer systems and also Mission control extended are both lagging my camera for some reason. Without them installed, I still get a small hang every now and then but it's worse when those two are in. And when one of them is in, the lagging is minor but still annoying.
  16. Just tested it a little more, decided to remove mods and check if Stock Kerbal was experiencing the same issue. Nope, can swing my camera everywhere without freezing. I suppose I'll have to test each mod after installing to see which is the culprit causing the lag.
  17. Alright, so I've updated the segfaults, installed the fonts, updated my Nvidia drivers to 331 and everything loads fine and dandy. I'm just having one problem within the game. Whenever I turn the camera using the mouse, I'm experieincing a lot of lag, if I do it in the first screen which shows the entire space center too much then the game just freezes. I've tried looking through the thread for my specific issue but I think I might've missed it somewhere. I'm using Ubuntu 13.11 Intel i5-2500k GeForce GTX 760 OS = 64 Bit Ram is 16 GB
  18. Which parts are you talking about specifically? They look similar to the parts listing that's posted in the LLL Thread.
  19. If I switch to 64-Bit linux, will I be able to transfer the windows save files and mods to my KSP directory? Or are they incompatible with eachother?
  20. Not sure if this is a bug, but I've got a Tiberdyne Aerospace engine in my parachute node. The other Tiberdyne parts seem to be in the correct area. Edit: Also, I just wanted to mention that you did an awesome job with the tech tree. I was using Interstellar's for a while and then it just began to not make sense to me, while this one is more of a grindfest I love that you have taken the time to try and balance the various mods among a single tree.
  21. Hello, I just downloaded Deadly Reentry Continued and it had a 1.5.7 Module Manager in it, is that the new release? Or should I just continue to use the older version?
  22. Excellent! I was doing what the previous posters were, and just downloading whenever it seemed like I should be. But I just looked into that Application, Diomeda, and while versions of the mods seem to be absent, it does feel like a huge upgrade to just downloading whenever. Thanks a lot!
  23. How are all of you keeping track which version of mods you have downloaded and updated already? The spaceport doesn't keep track of it, and most mods don't have Version XXX.X in their file names or anything. So are you all keeping track of them manually? Or just leaving it up to your brains' memory? Edit: I realize there's a post keeping track of all mods updated with 23.5 but I'm talking more about mods with active programmers who update on a regular basis.
  24. Thanks for all the replies. I figured it might be too resource intensive, just having a few of the big mods seems to bog the game down a little.
