The successful and innovating Canadian predecessor of the osprey that didn't get produced because nobody thought that a prop craft was useful anymore and others said "not invented here"

  2. witch folder.

the one by that spooky haunted house, I saw it a few houses down from your place :)

    Ok serious now

Modding in KSP is simple, unzip the mod (with a tool like 7zip or winzip etc.) then drag and drop all the folders and dll files the mod gives you into the KSP/gamedata folder. If the mod folder itself is called gamedata either drop it into the main KSP folder (and tell your pc to merge it) or drop all its contents into the KSP/gamedata folder.

  3. Oh hey, ty R4ptor, i'l put this on a "to be seen" list, I've heard of this show...

But my one annoyance with a lot of this historical battle documentaries is that they often prefer the "evenly matched" kind of battles over the epics (a group of nobodies defeats an empire despite pitifully small odds type things)... Seriously when's the last time you've seen the great sieges of Rhodes and Malta or the maccabees etc.

Continue to post here when you find interesting stuff.

edit: enjoy your day too !

  4. Although I'm not participating, I just think, for the sake of creativity, why are these rules being made (apart from the turret swivel) ? Until you have sufficient examples of "peanut plane always wins", it seems very arbitrary.. What if someone went 5.6 tons to make their craft more maneuverable, but wasn't exploity in the slightest, it would be banned even though it could be excellent.. I'm also not sure on the weapon restrictions, why couldn't an aircraft mount an arty weapon and hope for a lucky shot ?

edit: I do agree with part count limit though..

  5. Oh... I.. I.. got it....

    CELEBRATION, RELEASE THE KRAKENand GIC

and now for the riddle, just give me a minute...

Black and White turn to color all around

All is new, a fresh turn all around

Darkness fades and the ices wane

Hope will be found when it is raised

What is rising every new day ?

  6. Running 2.2 ghz cpu(2mb L3 cache), intel integrated pentium graphics, 4gb ddr3 memory

I run 0 lag with up to ~130-150 parts and no explosions...

So how big are the ships you're making ? Does the lag come from when you're making a station or base ? (particularly a station ?) if you're making a station then more terrain is being rendered and you will be slowed down, and stations + bases both tend to get more parts than your pc can handle fast...

Also no one is being "suspicious" of people who ask these questions, what you are more endanger of is getting suspicion of you feeling entitled (rage person), just don't allow that to be the case, if you do... then things might get bad for you trying to find an answer. (and as provocative as this sounds, don't take it as such, I'm trying not to.)

Anyways, standard response is usually, "there are a bunch of rigidbodies(parts) that are connected, therefore their physics cannot be spread to different thread (therefore 1 good core cpu > multicores cpu). This means that physics which is a more intensive calculation if all on one cpu (makes lag), Unity 5 which is what the devs are implementing now can change that, even if the devs don't implement all those optimisations right away". The only non unity 5 approach I've heard is to simply weld as much of the ship into 1 part as possible which deteriorates gameplay of joint strengths..

And why don't the devs respond ? They will implement things from the suggestion forum, but they are almost always silent in it (like 1 post in a year silent).. the thing has been answered before (we can't do anything about it till we get unity5) and don't feel like repeating that explanation when forum lurkers do a better more efficient job !

  7. hmm.. LCD sounds great for ~4 people stuff around Kerbin, I think if you went beyond that into ~10+ people who might be doing a mun base at intervals, it might get difficult to coordinate any kind of consistent ferry to the mun or yet worse beyond... I think the best system would be to take DMP and add a "player(s) sync lock" option (set a local LCD warp and attempt at all costs to keep these people in the same sync) in order to keep players doing bases or flying planes/rovers from desyncing (which I found to be a major problem with DMP).
