  1. Is anyone else getting a problem when using this with RSS where clouds disappear when you look at the horizon?
  2. Well, I am stumped by a repeating graphical error I've been getting using this with Visual Enhancement. When I look straight down at Kerbin from orbit, I can see clouds, but then, when I look at the horizon, the clouds just disappear, like they are not being rendered, as if I was looking away from the planet. I'm not sure if I should post this here, or on Visual Enhancement, but, again, I am stumped as to why I've been getting this error, and I just wonder if anyone else here has been experiencing it...
  3. I am good at placing satellites into exact orbits, and constructing Space Stations and Communication Constellations. I am not so good at building long distance probes and extraplanetary landings.
  4. Okay, I worked a bit on a similar design, and instead of going stable at 30K, I stay pointing at around 30-33 degrees all the way up, with engines on full for as long as possible. At 40K I swap to Rocket Engines, and I start to pray to any god that will hear me, and I manage about 7000 m/s in the atmosphere, which would be good enough... if there wasn't an atmosphere that just eats up all my velocity as soon as I shut off the engine.

  7. Yeah, the configs are very, very different, and it looks like pretty much everything has to be redone... Oh a posititive note, what I saw in last version of VE looked pretty spectacular...

  9. Well, I only got the clouds and planet textures, but I got only about 50 megabtyes more RAM usage, if that. It's nothing when compared to b9 aerospace or KW rocketry.

  11. I would offer to test, but I am running Real Solar System, and I have a feeling that might make all the testing invalid for vanilla...
  12. Oh boy, now I can do dry tests of my various rocket series in RSS. No longer do I have to build expensive payloads to test my rockets, now I can launch a brick with an antenna on it to test the rocket's tonnage to orbit. I mean, math is all fine and good, but it's nice to know the practical max tonnage instead of just the theoretical max tonnage, and then see your expensive and important payload plummet back to Kerbin in flames.
  13. I can sympathize there. I have been grappling with how to apply Coolrockets to Stretchy Tanks. It is not an easy task... KSP is not all that good at using particles.
  14. I launched 24 GPS satellites in 6 launches, tomorrow I will perform orbital maneuvers to spread them out equally around Kerbin. I also launched 3 LHX class Spy Satellites in a Polar Orbit, and when one of them failed, Kerbal Intelligence Agency liaison and special agent Kirrim Kerman had to perform a solo orbital rendezvous and EVA service on the telescope.
  15. Today I launched 4 Geosychronous satellites into 60 degree orbits to cover the high latitudes of Kerbin. I also launched a resupply vehicle to rendezvous with KerbLab-1, and I changed my Duna flyby probe's trajectory by 2 degrees to get a week earlier rendezvous. Today was mostly logistics, but I almost prefer logistics to the BIG missions. With Deadly Reentry, FAR, and Real Solar System, entry into an atmosphere, and landing on a planet turns into about 20 minutes of terror.

  17. Ugh, Debris. My main save is beginning to approach Kessler Syndrome levels of debris in Low Kerbin Orbit... Pics of the two landing zones for my first landing on Real Solar System sized Mun incoming...
  18. Yeah, I'd think Jool would be the most viable. Though I could see Dres having a small accretion disk because of it's location in the asteroid belt. I couldn't see Eeloo with rings though, too small and too far away. A Dres belt would probably be thin, and dark. It actually would more resemble a cloud than belt, as most of the debris would be from collisions instead of gravity capture. A Jool ring would be VERY bright, because of the obviously large amounts of water in the Jool System(eg Laythe and Vall). I would imagine it would be bright white, possibly tinged dark-greenish by the same compounds coloring Jool's atmosphere. Keep in mind, Saturn has a lot of planets, Titan(Laythe's RL analogue) included. Some bright, striking rings would be perfect for Jool. I could see Eve with rings, possibly because it had a large moon inside the Roche Limit, or was struck recently by a large planetoid, much like ancient Earth. Of course, by recently, I mean a few hundred million years ago... I wouldn't give any moons rings though. A ring around a moon would be inherently unstable. It might last a few millenia, but I couldn't see long term rings around any moon. The amount of tidal forces moons recieve means that any orbit over a moon is unstable, and will eventually end with either crashing into the moon, escaping the system entirely, or crashing into the parent planet. And yeah, I was asking about extra RAM added by this mod, since I run Real Solar System and a bunch of part mods, and I was hoping I could run this, but even if I can't, I would love to see this released. This looks very, very pretty, and I look forward to it. PS: I might have been wrong about Eeloo.   19. Jool with some bright rings would be stunning. Take your time man, but, quick question, how much RAM do you expect this to use, by chance?
  20. SLS Block II in the house! 1500 tons of very, VERY angry space ship. This puppy can manage 100 metric tons to an orbit of 430Km. She is the workhorse of my program. She relies on 2 utterly massive solid boosters to get her off of the launchpad. Interesting side note, when building this, the construction of my Space Shuttle did actually inform the craft, so it really can be considered a Shuttle Derived Launch Vehicle.

  22. This is the link. Put it in your Deadly Reentry or TiberDyne folder. It isn't perfect, but it should give you a good start. I use 2.1, but it SHOULD work with more modern incarnations... If someone could independently verify this works, I would appreciate it.
  23. Hey Tiberion, I actually just finished a rough CFG for Tiberdyne and Deadly Reentry. I basically took how he treated B9, and converted that method to the shuttle. Essentially, as long as you enter in with the heat shield in front, you will have no problems. If you want me to send you the file for you to mess with, just tell me.
  24. I did a quick module manager cfg for Tiberdyne that treats the heat shielded parts of the ship like Deadly Reentry treats B9. If you enter in the correct way you will not burn up. There is no ablative shielding, just an active shield.
