  1. I feel it depends on how you want to look at it; some will say that "reusable" mean you can ONLY use those items that have been launched before, and others say that as long as it is recovered it is refueled for the next craft. Slashy has an interesting idea though, but to me it would be very time consuming (different strokes for different folks ). Personally if you recover it for 100%, minus the original fuel cost, and relaunch the same rocket I do not see why you couldn't say that it a reusable rocket, however there will be others who say that it is not. Neither is right or wrong really as it is personal choice really, and at the end of the day it should only matter to you how you play your game.
  2. Also make sure you turn off the "follow Retro" thing as well...... Source: Hard personal experience as well.
  3. Well not so much being better, but rather I see those trees everyday while sitting in front of my computer . Last year it was actually worse you couldn't even see those trees due to the snow. The tip of the one to the left is eye level to me and I am 6'4" but the tree is only a touch over 4 foot, oh and more snow is yet to come.
  4. I did name a ship The Mook, it was in honor of bad Kung Fu B movies.
  5. The one that generates some chuckles, and oddly enough the one I took the most time to name, was the KSA A.R.S.E. (Asteroid Recovery Science Explorer). I try to give my ships acronyms that are kind of silly and also state their purpose. I have not done a proper acronym name in awhile though
  6. After a very rough night last night I woke up this morning and thought that these trees were more aerodynamic.
  7. It depends on if asteroids will have resources on them or not, my hope is that they will and the bigger ones mean higher amounts. This would then setup refueling platforms for interplanetary missions, much like NASA has talked about trying to do as well. Maybe move a few A-class to Jool as outposts for long term missions.
  8. Today I brought the Anomaly home and learn, again, a very valuable lesson: Always check your fuel lines:blush:. I some how only had one on my two radial tanks, but I just drained the non plumbed tank into the one that would feed the main tank. I think this ship might be able to do a Dres mission if flown correctly but I will have to try another day. It kind of looks like Bender somewhat too....maybe not
  9. The only reason I could think of is for a contract needing Karbonite returned from a certain body, other than that you could process it on the ground. Maybe it is a power issue?
  10. I sent a large fleet of stupids to the sun one time, it was kind of funny to watch. Might also be called morbid, but I found it funny when it exploded:P
  11. Hmmm Nercobones already has an engine called the "Terrier", so I wonder if this means that his parts are getting incorporated? Yeah I know it is a stretch to consider, however his work with moding fuel tanks and such do make for some more realistic rockets, and with the new areo model it would be fitting. I do like they are leaving the resource system open for people to make it as hard as they want, without forcing a certain version on all players (at least from the sounds of it anyways). The female Kerbal thing never bothered me too much, I just figured they were asexual since all their last names are the same. I would rather have clouds than female Kerbals, and maybe since the update is large, apparently, we may get those as well. Engine balancing is always nice, and hopefully some engines will be brought up that hardly see use *coughradialscough*. Maybe possible to get more capsule and lander can options too, I mean there are four things for planes but only 3 for rockets. Really only 2 since the 2 man can is kinda ugly.
  12. Not the best lighting but my Kerbal Tour bus in orbit around Mun. This is nearly all stock except for the landing gear, nose cones, and a couple of the fuel tanks that are in the MRS mod pack. That mod was very helpful filling in the holes in some of the parts in the stock system.
  13. It is like the nectar of the gods....
  14. Took the Aqua MKII out for a little stroll today, at first I wanted to go to Mun but I reconsidered....... Finally got to test my faring not a faring opening up to reveal the contents inside. Inside there is a return capsule, called Anomaly, and the lander, called Aquarius. Aquarius made it down to Duna's surface with just a small amount of engine input, I will remedy this with a few more chutes though fuel is not really a concern.
  15. Have an movie style popcorn, and bacon salt? Cause that combo is just good.
  16. Sorry had to fix this for you, since Yoda said: "Do, or do not, there is no try!". And sorry, not really, but I a Ketheist and do not believe your works of fiction. Also tl:dr to be honest.
  17. Got Aqua MKII into orbit as part of the test phase, and I realized it has a ton of dv in its transfer stage. I still do like the not a fairing fairing setup I am using to conceal the payload inside. But after getting to orbit I realized I had not test the launch escape/thrill ride system yet, and now you can kind of see the not a fairing fair reveal. There is still more inside though
  18. A faringless rocket that looks like it has fairings . I couldn't think of a good name for it so for now it is the Aqua MkI.
  19. Internal strutting on those fairings, or magic LOL? They look nice
  20. Because small green men are completely serious . Also it wasn't a terrible example it contains the same silicon base chip set that is present in the 80's version, however it is much more compressed as to be the same amount only smaller. If you want to judge people for how they play I guess that is your right, but it does not valid your point really. If you use mods to alter the aerodynamics is that cheating? If I want to fly a cheese burger into space is that cheating because cheese burgers cannot fly? There is no right way to play an open ended game if one person enjoys that is great they have that right, just as you have the right to play the same game as you see fit. The problem arises when players try to dictate the "correct" or "only" way to play, and anyone not doing it this way is cheating or just being silly. I find it silly when people want a game with little green men to be realistic.
  21. All polls are biased to some degree, but there are some that are more subtle than others. This one is about as subtle as bull in a china shop....where all the china is red.
  22. Hmmm well in real life you would make the item in question smaller. Here is a good example: Imagine how many micro sd cards could fit into that IBM 3380 storage block....
  23. It depends on the craft really, in most cases I tuck the small square batteries into the big SAS module just to get them out of sight. But recent events while building my micro SSTO kind of forced me to clip the engine, slightly, into the tank, otherwise it would have been floating a good distance away from it. Here is a picture of it before I used the tool, you can see the gap between the tank and engine is very noticeable. I may clip some things, but I really try not to over do it if at all possible. If you believe it is ok then it is in your game, and if you feel that is it wrong that is fine for you as well. The only way it would be wrong is if SQUAD made it so those parts clipped into something either didn't work, or blow up the craft in the case of an engine.
  24. So you would let some else decide if it is a game or simulator for you? That is disconcerting if it is the case. To me it is a game based on playing real simulators, there are simulator-esk components but at the end of the day it is still a game. In real simulators all the crafts you fly are not constructed but rather pregenerated by the simulator maker, thus involving no need to balance parts that are found in construction/building style games. I personally enjoy being able to have the freedom to build a craft that may, or may not, work in the confines of the game, it gives me a chance to learn what or where I may have gone work in the build process. To me this has more in common to Minecraft than a simulator in terms of playstyle, but that is just my opinion though.
