  1. Mine appeared just about instantly, so it shouldn't take too long.
  2. All I have to say is... I have draped my rocket in purple light through an entire mission, from launch to landing. Whatever comes after this is just icing on the cake.
  3. So, I just went into the tracking station and noticed that I have an asteroid in orbit around Kerbin. I haven't gotten anywhere close to any of the asteroids in my game, let alone do anything to them. Secondly, as I was just about to note how close it got to the Mun, ANOTHER asteroid orbit all of a sudden appeared. Is this supposed to happen? EDIT: Nevermind, I just clicked on the orbits, and it turns out that when you click on them, then you can see that it's an escaping trajectory. Weird bug though.
  4. So, apparently Twitter (an app that I never touch) is using 95.5% of my data usage, and is responsible for why my mother had to pay extra on our phone bill. Since I have such an old version of the Android OS, I can't uninstall the program, and since you can't seem to update the OS, I want to know how to access the HDD of an Android phone once it's plugged in to a desktop via USB so I can manually delete the program.
  5. Would that also fix why FRAPS doesn't seem to record the whole screen (FRAPS seems to not record about a 0.5 inch margin all around the screen)?
  6. I'll see if I can find the aspect ratios for the games. My monitor is 1920x1200, so that sounds like it would explain the top and bottom bars.
  7. I've been trying to figure that out. There is a "stretch to fit" option, but it messes with the ratio.
  8. First year astronomy student. I'm planning on going straight for my Ph.D so I can go back to a university and teach. Hopefully one with easy access to a nice telescope.
  9. I have officially released my first video for my YouTube channel (that isn't my trailer) today! Here is my trailer (I apologize for the loud intro, that will be fixed in later videos. I'm still learning how to use Adobe Premiere Pro). SCHEDULE: Mondays: Kerbal Space Program Tuesdays: GRID w/ ACAT mod Wednesdays: GTA IV limits of infinity mods Thursdays: Trackmania Fridays: Bumper Wars Saturdays: FATE Sundays: Community pick (The most chosen game out of the list at the end of the trailer) I figure this might be a fun way to get some money. The first KSP Mondays video is up now. The quality of everything should improve the more I learn (and remember) about Adobe Premiere Pro. I have a film major for a roommate, so I have quite a bit of help. So, if you guys want to learn some cool stuff, whether it be rocket science, astronomy, or just about games that you've never heard of before, subscribe to me, and I'll kill half-an-hour out of your day, seven days a week!
  10. I'm planning on trading my 1TB HDD for my roommate's 1TB HDD since his has a removable SATA to USB part on it and I plan on using that SATA conneciton for a mirror RAID array with my internal 1TB SATA HDD. Are there any notable differences between using an external SATA HDD as compared to an internal SATA HDD that might affect the RAID array (if not just the file I/O in general)?
  11. Didn't they say that the sandbox mode specifically is done?
  12. The ISP of an Ion thruster appears to be able to go between 1,500 and 8,000 seconds, so the ISP isn't OP, and the only thing that is OP relative to real life standards is the thrust, however that is for pure gameplay reasons as a realistic thrust would mean hours of continuous thrusting to do anything.
  13. Holy crap. Rigid ships and contracts, WOOHOO! Thank you Unity 4.3!
  14. So, is that second picture hinting at being able to destroy planets (deformable terrain?), or is that just for a cutscene?
  15. I'm confused. If I have an SSTO that needs 100 fuel to get topped off again after getting into LKO, it will still take 100 fuel to top the craft off whether I'm doing it from the ground, or from the station (which will need to be resupplied from the ground anyways). If anything, you're just cutting out the middle man by not bothering with the station.
  16. Sal_vager pretty much hit it on the head. The only thing I would like to add is that most of the time when people refer to the non-implemented "resources", they are referring to the mining.
  17. Seeing as NASA never made an SSTO in the first place, I don't see your point. I mean, I get that you are referring to the Space Shuttle, but that has nothing to do with interplanetary flights.
  18. It will probably be based around the environment that the sentient AI is in, and what it can do. For example, if it were its own closed shell system without access to the Internet, and having an easy way of shutting down and not having any sort of appendages, people might think that it was kind of neat and (as you mentioned) the main discussion would be how to treat it with regards to its rights. On the other hand, if it was something pushing the humanoid appearance and mobility (minus the super speed) of Star Trek's Data, whereby it can walk around, access computers (probably the Internet) and (most importantly) can learn how to operate things like a firearm, unless it was in 100% surveillance, many people would probably fear what it could do. It would be looked at as thing that has the skills of a hacker, the computational speed of a computer, and to top it all of, can fire a gun.
  19. I like to think of myself as being as good if not better than Scott Manley at playing the game with regards to docking (maybe) and hauling really large things into orbit, however I am much less knowledgeable about orbital mechanics than he is.
  20. Upon getting my first SSTO into orbit that has an LV-N on it, it occurred to me that I would still need to launch a re-fueling mission to get the ship interplanetary (or at least to the Mun/Minmus). Such a refueling mission would seem to take away from the (will be) increased cost efficiency of an SSTO. If I can just launch a craft via rocket that has the same interplanetary capabilities as my SSTO once the SSTO has been refueled (via a slightly less massive rocket mission), is it going to be all that much worth it to make interplanetary SSTO if they will need refueling before doing a mission? Now, obviously this is going to be almost 100% dependent on the specifics of the craft and the rocket, but I would like to know what people think about this. Once money becomes an issue in the game, skilled players will try to make everything a single-stage-to-whereever, but (IMO) most of those are going to be something along the lines of either RAPIERS with one or more LV-Ns, or turbojets with one or more LV-Ns, which means that the players will have to spend all that extra money to refuel the craft, which may have been better spent on a single rocket mission to launch a nuclear powered, not-so-plane-like interplanetary craft. So, on average, will space planes that need refueling once in orbit to do the mission still be more cost efficient then a (possibly) larger single rocket launch, or not? Or is this far too case-by-case to really make any solid predictions?
  21. You might be better off with a pseudo-cargo bay like that of my cargo SSTO: The only cargo-hauling mission it's ever done was hauling an ion powered Moho probe into LKO, but it landed back on the runway with enough fuel for a powered landing.
  22. I hope NASA does something cool for the 100th flyby. Cassini has told us so much about Saturn and its' moons.
  23. Ah. I would tend to agree with those other two as well.
