  1. This looks great! I loved the Weka too, especially that it was very easy to fly and hard to crash land. A few things I think worth thinking about from it: 1. It didn't have landing gear. Many plans for "lifeboat" style mini-lifting bodies don't, because if its a lifeboat, it'll only be used once. It's up to you, obviously, but would cut your part count (and difficulty) substantially. Maybe at least while you get a test-version up for people to use? 2. The Weka was hard to integrate into other things. It couldn't be stack mounted, which means it doesn't fit in the subassembly manager... And for my money, any parts that can be mixed-and-matched with other mods are great. So I would say, make the body somewhat capsule-like. It can do double duty as a capsule for larger space planes, or a standard docking port on the back can complete your idea for a mini-shuttle. (Not necessarily needing to make a docking port saves you some effort too.) 3. The Weka was so easy to fly. Please, even if you're using a textureless, ugly, half finished model, start play testing soon, so that the engines fire in line with the center of mass, the RCS is balanced and manouvers correctly, etc... It just makes things so much nicer. Of course, all that's just my opinion. Probably a lot of people will disagree. Ultimately, do whatever inspires you! Best of luck
  2. Ayo99, I think the comments above have hit all the main hangups. You have to understand, spaceport gets swamped by many many many people doing half-assed work. Weird craft files that are useless, stock-part tweaks that are catastrophically game breaking, etc... And usually those get accidentally posted 27 times. So a lot of people, for better or worse, judge a book by its cover. A good screen shot, and a more thought out, carefully written description, plus accurate tags, would do a lot to show people you care about the mod and have put work into it. (Fixing the file not being openable by WinZip would be great, too.) It doesn't sound like there is anything wrong in principal with your part idea. Just try to invest a little more time on the packaging, and maybe run a sort of "beta" on the forums to see if it needs tweaking, and you should be a lot better off! And thank you for your time and energy, mods make Kerbal into so much more than just the stock game can be. The players appreciate every one of you! Best wishes
  3. Looks exciting! Love station/base parts that strike a good balance between looking realistically and "kerbally"
  4. Both sets of chutes deploy, but when the triple mains deploy it only slows the craft by about 5m/s. Do I need to cut the drogues for the mains to work properly? EDIT: Yep, cutting the drogues, or rather not cutting the drogues, was the problem. Cut them and craft dropped to ~5m/s. I'd love it if they cut automatically, but really this is such a tiny problem... feel free to disregard! Thanks!
  5. The SLS looks amazing! One weird thing... Using your provided craft file on an otherwise stock install, the Orion parachutes don't seem to be very effective. Fully deployed at Kerbin sea level, they only slow the craft to 39.3 m/s, which is... pretty fatal. Is this because they are designed for RSS? Or am I doing something wrong?
  6. When I saw this, I thought, "That can't be the right scale." Amazed to see that in game it totally is. Even more impressed with this mod's careful design, and you've made me reevaluate just how tiny those little Kerbals are.
  7. Looks amazing so far! Very excited that this is getting to the point where there are parts to play with. I'd second Scorchdestroya's post, though, about not seeing the Orion Service Module in the game. Thanks!
  8. Why are you "considering restarting" a mod that is still under active development by some of the most talented modders in the KSP community? I mean, go crazy if that's your thing, but...
  9. These are pretty awesome. I especially like the spherical pod, and the way it attaches seamlessly to other parts. Looks great! Can't wait to see what you get up to next.
  10. Looks great so far, good luck! I really want one of these.
  11. I vote #4, but none of them really looks bad
  12. Thats exactly what I'm planning to do. Gorgeous mod, and pretty handy/interesting additional parts. The IVA is wonderful.
  13. I think the panels look great. They are compact, but most solar panels look pretty flimsy. I think they look like a good size for service modules.
  14. The new WIPs look great! Looking forward to them.
  15. Not that you need us to tell you, but your stuff always has a great design to it. I like these wheels, and if they work best with this vehicle then use em. Whats wrong with a moon wagon anyway?
  16. Awesome! Has sort of a beetle vibe to it (the creature, not the car).
  17. Awesome science outpost, and that rocket... that fairing... just so Kerbal.
  18. I used to have it? not any more though. I will double check there are no lingering files. I have a lot of other mods installed though, so maybe it's some conflict. I'll do more experimentation.
  19. But I can't get my speed that much below 700 MPS at 60KM altitude without doing a full powered landing, which is... practically impossible. Sooner or later I've got to hit the lower atmosphere.
  20. I don't know why, but I find this mod completely impossible to use. Starting with a three man capsule in a circular, 100KM orbit, I lower my periapsis to 35 Km. everything looks good, temp slowly increasing, speed falling, until right about 35-40KM. My shield, which had been ~200 degrees and ablating, starts heating at 100-150 degrees per second, so in about five seconds it explodes. I can't imagine a much easier or slower standard descent, and this seems to be what everyone says to use, but to no avail. I even tried a suborbital hop, that peaked at about 45KM and 700meters per second orbital velocity, and it did the exact same thing. What am I missing?
  21. I liked the idea of having more available life support storage than they actually start with (so, say they launch with 4/400 food) and then once inflated you can fly a supply mission. That was fun for me, anyway.
  22. Still pretty awesome looking! I'll take it however he wants to make it.
