  1. My first though was 'Bitkoins'.
  2. My first thought is naturally "The Mun is a Harsh Mistress", but Heinlein pretty much showed that probably won't work out in the long run.
  3. Tempest in a teacup. How can anyone consider either stock or modded to be superior, when mods have become stock? Let's say there are folks who truly believe that stock is superior to mod. If a mod gets rolled into stock, as has happened, do you think those people will refuse to make use of the new 'stock' functionality simply because it used to be an external mod? Somehow, I think not.
  4. Hmm, seems I was too subtle. The font may make it too difficult to see, but the phrase was actually "Sorry, OP everything's not going to be (zero)K". I put the comma in the wrong place as well. Double drat.
  5. Six sided die and a suitable stable weight on top.
  6. My take on this is that the science lab need not be returned to Kerbin, since the experiments can be stored in the command pod. I am in the process of planning a trip to Minmus, similar to your outline. A science lab with a big gas tank, and a lander that can dock and refuel for multiple biome drops on Minmus (hopefully all 10). The lander carries a Science Jr materials bay, a goo canister, and a thermometer. The experments will be performed upon landing, and the Kerbalnaut will collect the results from them while he's doing the EVA and surface samples. All the results will be stored in the command pod. Upon re-docking with the lab/tanker, the lab will be used to clean the experiments, resetting them for the next drop. I have no plans to use the lab's transmission boost; I'm going to physically return all results via the command pod. Once all biomes have been visited (fuel permitting), the whole kit'n'kaboodle will return to Kerbin orbit. The Science lab and attached fuel tanks will be left in orbit to form the nucleus of my first space station, and the erstwhile lander will deorbit with all the science goodies.
  7. I recovered a capsule last night (new career mode) from a Mun orbit with : 15 near space EVA reports, one from each Mun biome. 2 high space EVA reports, one each for Kerbin and Mun. 1 surface EVA report, 1 surface sample, and 1 crew report from my landing point on Kerbin. So 20 science gains from activities, plus one more from recovering a Mun orbit vessel. I also radioed back 3 other crew reports while in flight; high space Kerbin, high space Mun, near space Mun. I have a question, though. I see posts from people who say their Kerbals have the data from the Goo Canister and/or the Materials Bay. How does one collect said data? When clicking on the canister or bay after an observation, I see only an option to review the data (at which point you can transmit, save, or reset). Is transfer to a Kerbal something that can only be done while they're EVA? I haven't tried that yet. Update: Son of a gun, you can collect results from experiments while EVA. Never knew that.
  8. 1. In VAB, add the basic command pod. 2. Launch. 3. Right click pod, perform crew report, save it. 4. EVA from pod. With luck, while hanging on the ladder, your Kerbal can do an EVA report as 'flying over Kerbin's shores'. If so, save the report, right click on the capsule, and store the data. 5. Release from ladder, have Kerbal perform EVA report and surface sample. Grab ladder, climb up, and board capsule. 6. Recover the craft. That should get you enough science to get the first upgrade, and get the goo canister. At which time you can add a goo canister to the capsule and repeat the above steps, adding the goo experiment before recovering the craft. If you want you can do the same thing from the spaceplane hanger, and get the data from the Runway in addition to the Launchpad.
