  1. Managed to remove nearly 40 struts and fuel lines without the rocket falling apart. Edit: Double the boosters for more power.
  2. Build a cargo ship/fuel tanker, I also started modifying my superheavy lifter with autostruts.
  3. Finaly got my C-130 to fly, all it took was a slight adjustment to the bearings and diferent evelons for props (strutted to the rotor to further reduce wobble) Dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ve8qvano3ri35a0/C 130 Hercules Mk 1.craft?dl=0 Edit: [TAG]@Gman_builder[/TAG] + 4 separators ...... HOW DOES THIS EVEN WORK ARRRRGHHH!!!!
  4. Shut down the engines a bit too early. Edit: Meanwhile, it turns out that ripping off the reaction wheels on my electric prop and replacing them with jet engines produces... interesting results.
  5. I tryed creating a few engines myself with some sucess, my most powerfull engnine (60 parts, 6 tons) is able to lift aditional 2 tons, verticaly. Early prototypes: And the most successfull one, on c-130 replica (39 tons), trouble is, no matter what i do im unable to get it in the air. The highest speed i achieved was +-45m/s at the end of the runway, any ideas how to improve that?
  6. Altitule would be ground level (6-700m above sea level or so) with outside temperature somewhere between 10 - 20C Gaarst That seems sound, exept the 1 atm presure in balloon since that would make the pressure inside and outside same and the balloon would not inflate. I gues it should be around 1.2 or so but that doesnt change the result by that much.
  7. So lets say i have a round balloon, 25cm in diameter, filled with helium thats heated to about 200C. How much lift (in N or kg) would it produce and how to calculate it?
  8. Yes, thats a scan of a floppy disc......
  9. This might be a low-orbit view of stone "bridge", an overhang or similar rock formation for all we know. Withouth a banana for scale its hard to tell.
  10. Shes not Cupcake grade, but still the best VTOL ive ever made. (157m/s 20m above water is scary...)
  11. Challenge accepted! I decided to use a small and agile rover made mostly of structural parts. It can go quite fast and it seemed good when i tested it on Kerbin, however i greatly underestimated how little traction those rockomax yellowheels have on low-G worlds like Duna. I can still go fast but climbing hills and slowing down is problematic :/ . Still, going so fast that the wheels pop, jumping over the dunes and /or loosing control and blowing up is quite entertaining . Transfer to Duna:
  12. Tested my new mobile base, and broke physics....
  13. In preparation for The Elcano Challenge (whitch i may do, eventualy.... maybe) i have finaly reworked my old Mobile base MK 1 and build an iconic car from a famous movie(s).
  14. I got burned out due to the part-count lag, so i played Galactic civilizations III.
  15. Today i started work on a simple atmospheric craft, turns out geting it to fly is not simple. It flips out and does explosive banking turn, nose down right into the runway no matter what i do:huh:. Here is a pic of the craft with COM, COL and COT, could someone tell me what is wrong here?
