Replica of the Energia rocket an the Buran space shuttle, with payload capacity of 150 tons to LKO (300 tons in vulcan configuration). Top of the rocket houses decoupler, remote guidance unit and separate payload fairing. Zenit boosters are equiped with parachutes (pod doors activated by action group 1) for splashdown recovery. How to fly: Pitch down 15-30° (depending on payload size), reduce thrust to minimum after reaching 50km Ap and pitch down, decouple boosters after reaching 2/3 circularisation. Well i tryed to solve the problem using crossfeed form the main tank to extend the Zenit "lifespawn", i think i overdid it a "little". Oh well its an SSTO now lol.

Well i cannot angle neither the core or the Zenit motors since the TWR at liftoff is almost non-existent, and the whole thing also sits on them. Instead i have made the Zenits crossfeed each other so that they run out simultaneously. And once the fuel runs low engnouth to screw the COM-COT ballance i just switch some engines off and on via action groups to maintain stability. The olny problem that i have right now is that the core is just way too heavy, once the Zenits separate (and create epic laggfest of boom) the TWR drops below 1, even when the core is half empty (or half full for the optimist).

7.7m core, 3.5m Zenits, time to put Buran on it *yawn*, but that can wait till morning.

Well i managed to get it to look coo- erhm.... accurate , but thats about it, it flips out of control 2 mins after Zenit separation and the Buran itself flyes like lead zeppelin. EDIT: **** looks like i got the size wrong, the core needs to be 7.6 meters in diameter and Zenits 3.6 meters :/

So lets asume that a spacecraft has a heat exchanger at the front, that absorbs incoming heat radiation from space, and radiator at the back that emits heat radiation. The spacecraft is powered by nuclear reactor(s). Could this type of propulsion work? and if it could, would it be practicaly usable?
