    Yes, I 'm aware that this post is on a game forum. I'm aware that this post will lead almost certainly to no gain. But, find it in your heart to let me vent. If it makes you feel any better I will input my game woes. I have experienced constant issues when having my Kerbin on EVA missions. Whether it be travel on foot or glitching in batteries.. These little guys are constantly bugging out. Edit: In fact, just recently I had a Kerbin jet off into nearly a light speed trajectory out of the solar system simply because he bumped a RCS (the name escapes me currently; it's the vanilla module) unit above but connected to the 2-man Capsule.

    Frustrated.

    Here I am playing this game for hundreds of hours. Developing ships that I find efficient. I see a video today (I kid you not) that was almost an exact replica of my recently designed ship. Due to my low income and shortened education (due to my destructive and limiting childhood) I am stuck in my home never to achieve the potential I have. Space has been a passion of mine since looking up at the stars at six years old. My I.Q. is well above average. I have taken many, many tests to calculate a base of 136. Capitalism is the worst thing to happen to the growth of the sciences. Even when I want to progress I'm halted due to the overall cost. Signed, A frustrated person

  5. Thanks for the tips. I'll give them a try. I used a small tank with a T-45 for a rocket assisted slowing process to 250m/s (just until I get used to things) and it has worked well. Thanks again for the tips.
  6. I decided to give the game a go today and couldn't return a single craft. The first and second available parachutes fail 100% of the time. No matter how many I put on the craft I can never seem to get them to remain intact. I tried releasing them at several different altitudes with the same results. What gives?
  7. My initial new game was from the menu. The second restart was from Steam, meaning I had exited the game entirely. Both times I had the same glitch. I didn't think to preserve the save file.. Sorry. I honestly didn't even think to post this until I reinstalled the game. I was understandably peeved from the game being unplayable so wasn't thinking clearly. I was using cheats when this occurred. Infinite fuel, unbreakable joints, no crash damage, ignore max temperature and infinite RCS in sandbox (I just wanted so see what Eve looked like with my new PC.) This may have played a part in the ship disintegrating. Specs: Copied from Speccy Windows 8.1 64-Bit Intel Core i7 4790 @ 3.60GHz 8GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 800MHz Motherboard: Alienware 0PGRP5 Socket 0 Nvidia Geforce GTX 760-Ti 2GB Hope this helps a little and sorry again for not having the save..
  8. I was landing on Eve a moment ago and it went terribly wrong. I deployed my chutes too early and was heading for certain doom into the ocean. At around 100 meters from the surface my ship suddenly shattered to pieces and the cockpit hit near light speed as it soared into deep space. Here's the thing.... I couldn't play the game anymore due to this. Even when I started a brand new game I would be in the same predicament. When I went back to the base the screen would have the lower bar but the scene would be of space. I was forced to reinstall the game to correct it. I suppose I'll wait a few more months before picking the game up again. Seems you guys still have some major bugs to work out. Good luck! I was on the 32 bit version and had absolutely no mods installed (I wouldn't have bothered to report this if I had mods installed.) I'll check this thread tomorrow if you have any questions. I can pretty much tell you exactly what parts I used to build the ship, angle of the ship right before it disintegrated, ect.
  9. Not once, even from a few versions ago, have I had an Asparagus setup cause spinning. Not once. Perhaps you are using too little struts?
  10. My launch stage is as simple as it gets. A couple of liquid boosters buttressing a liquid rocket. With the exception of comically large payloads, I don't see a need for a complicated staging scenario.
  11. 80k myself. I prefer to have a little leeway for rendezvous missions.
  12. So, I was on a thread earlier that was locked shortly after because (and I was unaware of this) it was "necro'd". My question is, if a thread that is "necro'd" is almost immediately locked, then why not lock a thread after a certain time period (after they've been abandoned for so long) to save the trouble? <-- Sounds a little ridiculous, right? OR, save your padlock and let us enjoy a thread that has clearly had new life breathed into it (if only a little). It's not as if the thread was causing problems or anything. Heck, if it had not been necro'd then I would have never enjoyed it.   13. Sort of reminds me of Bill Nye The Science Guy..... Except he actually taught things. Still, their 'wackiness' isn't far off from children's programs from my youth. Pee Wee's playhouse comes to mind, as well as a few other shows. Not to mention that there are cultural differences to be considered. All in all I feel that quite a few of you are overreacting. Regardless, it's free advertisement.
  14. Oh man.. Why has nobody made a mod to let us build a KSC on another planet yet. I know this might be quite the task but.. A man can dream..
  15. Far below 100 for Kerbin - Mun - Minmus missions. Rendezvous with tankers is a primary gameplay element for me. When I want to go anywhere else I wait until I have nuclear and Ion capabilities; the part counts are still below 100. On a crazy day, however, I don't stop until my computer is on its hands and knees begging. Usually around 1,700 parts. Lag is something that I don't let stop me. 1 FPS is fine and dandy as it will improve as stages are lost (and I head back to KSC and delete expended stages).

  17. So very odd how the question "Would anyone have a list of part mods that are worthwhile?" seems to look like "Tell me about ways to play". lol
  18. 800 hours of this game. lol I've done just about everything there is (including sending a ship to a point in which the solar system is a speck). XD Thanks for the ideas though.
  19. Hard to tell, honestly. For long distances I'll condense fuel into less and less tanks (A six tank stage will be down to two before long). Other times I'll rendezvous a SSTO twice (once at HKO and the second at the planet I'm going to). I think it would be difficult for most to simplify their stage counts as conditions change frequently.
  20. I just have to resign to the fact that I'm beyond this game's challenges.. I honestly wish I weren't. I hate relying on mods as they tend to break my long term games when an update occurs.. With that said... Would anyone have a list of part mods that are worthwhile? Just a whole load of parts. I'll worry about other aspects once I have this taken care of. Thanks.
  21. I see. I hope there will be more tweaks. This is ridiculously too easy, no offense. I feel as though I could throw anything together and as long as CoM and CoL are aligned properly, I can make orbit.
  22. Put this together in under 7 minutes. Something has definitely changed. Not in my wildest dreams would I be able to do two maiden flights to orbit in a row a few months ago.

  24. This is FAR from something I'd use on a mission. Like I said, this was solely made out of boredom. It made orbit on its maiden flight. <-- That is what's throwing me for a loop. I have never had that happen. It made me think that significant changes were made.
