  1. LEO payload capacity for all launch vehicles is effectively a measure of residual propellant in stage 2 (or stage 3 if it's a 3 stage rocket). There just are not payloads that use all the fairing volume at the mass levels stated as LEO payload. Starlink fairly well cubes out the fairing, and that's nothing like 64t, it's a quarter of that. Hence the talk on this forum of "naked" FHe, where the only payload under the fairing is a docking port, and S2 gets to orbit with the bulk of the RP-1/LOX remaining. SLS ends up in LEO with 95t in orbit (whatever it is), of which 27t is actual pay

  7. However starship is falling pretty slowly then vertical because its huge cross section anyway and this is controlled flight. Yes you have self guiding parachutes its used by the military to resupply forces. I assume this is used then flying low is dangerous and the force might be behind enemy lines, here the accuracy only need to be in the hundreds of meter. I guess the falcon 8 fairings uses an versions of this but here the parachute and ship talk, this did not work well as the fairing is also very affected by wind. an container to support an unit would be much more dense.

  23. KSP 1.11.x Kerbal Atomics [1.2.0] Last Updated December 23, 2020 This part pack is designed to provide some new nuclear thermal rockets for your spaceship-building pleasure. There are eight new engines, one in the 3.75m size class, four in the 2.5m size class, two in the 1.25m size class and one in the 0.625m size class. They are fuelled with LiquidHydrogen, and in some cases can use Oxidizer to boost their thrust at the cost of specific impulse. Liquid Hydrogen is less dense than liquid fuel, so for the same Delta-V, you will need more tank volume.
