  1. As of April 12 (2:29 PM, EST) - Most importantly (since it was addressed in Patch #2)... One of my ships teleported to underneath the VAB during construction This has only happened one time, but it happened after Ctrl+Z (undo) Speaking of Ctrl+Z - I also had an Assembly disappear completely following an Undo. To be specific, the parts didn't just erase - they appeared to be invisible. Certain VAB part icons still appeared around the invisible craft (i.e. small 4-way direction/compass circle icon) Almost all new bugs tho are related to orbital mechanics the the new Maneuver UI Maneuver Mode - new, predicted orbit line not showing at times (image below) Maneuver Mode - Burn Time Meter stuck (while in mid-burn pointing at target) No screenshot of this, but it happened twice while en route to Eve, specifically, while attempting to circularize within Eve's SOI Switching between Map View and (Auto) Orbit Flight View sometimes causes parts to shift out-of-place No luck saving/loading game. Only resolvable by reverting back to a previous save or deleting/restarting ship May or may not be new: - I noticed that my Kerbal Pilots go into PANIC MODE whenever I time warp in orbit. (i.e. flailing arms around and screaming) - While in VAB, I'm frequently unable to expand Stage Info Menu (on right hand side), and view the estimated effectiveness of stages while in different SOIs. To be clear, before Patch 2, I almost never had an issue being able to expand a Stage View, click on an engine, and view my TWR on various planet (atmos & vac)
  2. SPECS CPU ryzen 9 5900x GPU 4080 32gb ddr4 RAM This has happened with 2 campaign slots at this point and after 130 saves** everything will load slow, e.g. loading from the vab to launch will freeze the game for a few minutes before getting to the pad, opening the map will freeze everything for a minute or so, quicksaving will freeze the game for a minute or so. Prior to this I never had to wait more than a few seconds to load anything. Starting a new campaign slot everything runs and works fine in said campaign slot. **The issue may not be because of alot of saves - in both campaigns that runs slow i loaded an old save and played from that and that might be what causes the problem. VIDEO OF PROBLEM - First campaign loaded is one with very few saves and works fine - Second campaign loaded is the broken one WHAT I HAVE TRIED: Verifying game files Deleting 100+ of the saves GPU is up to date Have checked all the save file sizes for the broken campaign and they are their usual size, no large ones
  3. Ok so I got restock and restock waterfall config, deleted my old stock waterfall config. All the rocket engines have their waterfall effects but the rapier, whiplash, panther, goliath, wheesley and juno have not got them. (aka they have their rather ugly stock effects) even if I put back the stock waterfall config file in gamedata the air breathing engines still don't get their waterfall effects applied. anyone know how to fix this? Edit: i dowloaded the lastest stock waterfall config and it worked when i used a whiplash, but rapiers are weird, especially the closed cycle mode, the plume is missing
  4. The title is self explanatory. Newest Version of KSP 2 Intel Core I7 Ram: 16gb RTX 3050 laptop gpu Windows 11
  5. v0.1.1.0 bug You can still adjust and control ships in the tracking station by pressing Z and X to set the throttle See video:
  6. If for example you set a fairing to x4 clamshell, and save it, when you load it back up, it does not save that change and reverts to 2x clamshell. The fairing I'm using is the "AE-FF375 Mussel" but I don't think which one you use matters.
  7. While trying to set up an encounter with a space station I noticed in map view that the station was not moving through its orbit at all. I switched to the tracking center and it was still not moving despite my other stuff orbiting as you would expect. Switching to the bugged craft resolves the issue and it was gone when I switched away from it to the original ship. I am not quite sure yet how to reproduce this bug consistently
  8. The attachment nodes on the Mk2 "Tuna Can" are not aligned with the center of the part:
  9. After a mun landing I made, I took off with my ship off the mun. I opened up my map view to see my apoapsis, and to my surprise, the trajectory line was missing! Luckily, I managed to save Jeb, Bob, and Tim C. Kerman from space without the line (due to my many years of ksp1 lol), but I think this but could be a HUGE issue, especially with new players and interplanetary travel. I have no clue what caused this bug, but I tried reloading and restarting the game to no avail. My ksp2 version is release (obv), and I am running windows 10 with an NVidia 3060 ti and a 3rd gen ryzen cpu.
  10. Here is a link to my video on a quick fix. Please fix how the game saves as soon as possible. It impacts game performance heavily. I went from 30 FPS and the game freezing constantly to 40-60 fps on the surface of Duna.
  11. It keeps stuck at "Loading Kerbal Roster Data" when I am trying to start the campaign. The only way to solve the problem is to change your Windows to English if it is not in English. There must be an official patch for it.
  12. Recently I was doing a KSP2 Dres mission and I encountered a bug where the save file size would exponentially increase in size, causing saving to freeze my game for several seconds. It turns out the culprit of the save file size ballooning is due items within a JSON array called "ObjectEvents" duplicating. This array can be found in any KSP2 save file. Within the save file, the ObjectEvents array is located within a JSON object titled TravelLogData. It is also important to note that I have two mods installed using Spacewarp version 1.0.1: - LazyOrbit version 0.4.0 - StageInfo (version unknown) However, I do not think these mods cause the issue since there are two reports of this issue occuring on 2/26/2023 and 2/27/2023 in the ksp2_help channel on the Intercept Games Discord, when modding was not as mainstream. The threads are called: - "Savefile sizes ballooning exponentially? - "Save files BALLOONING in size massively" You can see my save file with repeated entries in the ObjectEvents array at the link below (you can easily find this array by typing Ctrl + F and searching for "ObjectEvents"). When duplicates are removed using a Python program that I made, the save lowers to ~11 KB. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RKUqKpzwQd2S-TK4v_Z_-Mj7W73WlmaI/view?usp=sharing I hope this information helps!
  13. The terrain of Kerbin when in shadow appears much too bright when in flight (not on the map view). Eventually at a far enough distance from Kerbin the issue gets fixed, and the terrain appears normal, but returns when the vessel gets close again. The terrain on the light side seems to be fine, but that could be that the problem isn't very noticeable on the light side. I'll attach a screenshot later when I get the chance. There also seems to be too much ambient light on the vessel, but I'm pretty sure that is a separate issue. KSP Version: 0.1.1.0 (Build ID: 10752762) OS: Windows 10 CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (12) @ 3.600GHz GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT
  14. I was building - then I was not and steam was updating. Build effort lost. Hope for humanity lost.
  15. Although I think this is a common problem, I can't find an existing thread for it so here goes: My missions are frequently ruined by parts falling off my craft for seemingly no reason. It seems to happen more often with spaceplanes, and mainly when they are in space, just coasting along. Loading a save, even a previous save, often doesn't get the parts back. The crafts behave normally in space after losing these parts, aside from losing the functionality of these parts, but after losing some canards to this bug, the craft became less aerodynamically stable instead of more stable/too stable, even with all the remaining fuels pumped forward. my pc specs: OS: Windows 10 Home, version 22H2 CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400F 2.50 GHz GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6600 RAM: 16GB Some pics of the problems: https://imgur.com/gallery/M8aMNeO https://imgur.com/gallery/6AUk85o
  16. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2939884484 VAB - Ship loads under the floor / outside of VAB Ship and most of its parts loading everytime under the floor. KSP 2 current ver on Steam Operating System Windows 11 VAB - Ship loads under the floor / outside of VAB. Quiting re-load, merge etc. nothing helps Sometimes after save No mods installed See the screenshot on my steam profile.
  17. I have downloaded the game 5 days ago from today (27/3/23) and haven't been able to even get a glimpse of gameplay because it crashes and shuts the game. I have seen that only a few others have had the same issues and I have tried all of the recommended 'fixes' and still nothing. I get an application error box which I will link a picture of below. If anybody can find a fix for this I will love you dearly.
  18. KSP Version v0.1.1.0 Operating System and version (Windows 10, Windows 11) Windows 11 CPU and GPU models, any other system information which could be relevant i7 12700F with RTX 3060 Ti Description of the bug. Expected Behavior Apoapsis and Periapsis values should not change when orbiting Mun with all engines deactivated. Observed Behavior Apoapsis and Periapsis values are changing when orbiting Mun with all engines deactivated. Steps to Replicate - Happens when try to orbit Mun Fixes / Workarounds (if known..) - Unknown A list of ALL mods. If the list is long, please consider using a spoiler window. - NO MODS Other Notes / Screenshots / Log Files (if possible..) Same bug seems to be happening on Minmun You can see in this video below apoapsis and periapsis start to go crazy when ship is at 20.440m (second 17) That's why I think Mun has some kind of atmosphere bug. In the video below, when I open the landing gear near the Mun ground (~20km) at speed ~500m/s, the landing gear breaks.
  19. On Duna (and likely other bodies as well), most of the small terrain scatters render underground and are not visible. The two attached photos show the same location, one with the camera underground showing the amount of scatter, and the other image with the camera above ground showing how those scatters are underground and are obscured. KSP Version: 0.1.1.0 (Build ID: 10752762) OS: Windows 10 CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (12) @ 3.600GHz GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT
  20. In the following screenshot, I just loaded up my craft and have the Launch Stabilizers attached, when I noticed that it was indicating that I was moving 0.7 m/s when in fact I wasn't. This made it impossible to warp faster on the launch pad for a rendezvous.
  21. KSP Version 0.1.1.0. Operating System and version Windows 10 CPU and GPU Intel I7-4790 @3.6GHz, 16GB RAM DDR3, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Description of the bug. Expected Behavior If wings, stapilisators or control surfaces are mounted on radial decouplers, they should fly away when the stage is triggered. Observed Behavior If wings, stapilisators or control surfaces are mounted on radial decouplers, the ship will be "destroyed" when decoupled. The message comes up and the vessel can no longer be steered. In orbit it even crashes vertically onto the planet. Steps to Replicate Mount radial decoupler with wing Fixes / Workarounds (if known..) Mount a structural part between the uncoupler and the wing. A list of ALL mods. DV Stage Info Other Notes / Screenshots / Log Files (if possible..)
  22. I already made a post about this issue, but it went sideways, and for readability reason I'm making a new post. KSP Version v0.1.1.0 Operating System and version Arch Linux x86_64, Kernel 6.2.7-arch1-1 CPU and GPU models, any other system information which could be relevant AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, AMD ATI Radeon RX 7900 XTX Description of the bug. Expected Behavior In level flight, the 4 forces acting on an aircraft are the following: Lift, is a force acting perpendicular to the flight path or the airflow; Drag, is a force acting parallel to the airflow or the flight path; Gravity, or weight, is a force acting toward the center of the celestial body, and should in level flight be acting parallel and opposite to the lift; Thrust, is the force produced by the propulsion system . Those 4 force in level flight should be in equilibrium. Source: NASA In order to simplify the calculation thrust will be assumed to be parallel to the airflow and opposite to the drag. With this in mind, in order to achieve level flight, the drag must be the same intensity as the thrust, and the lift should be the same intensity as the weight. In this case equilibrium is achieved and we can fly without losing altitude or accelerating. Observed Behavior In order to achieve level flight, the airplane require much more lift than it's weight. This requirement appear to be link to the longitudinal static stability margin of the aircraft. Steps to Replicate Use this aircraft. (I don't know how to upload save file so I copied the whole .json file in the following spoiler). Moving the main wing front and back should allow to change the longitudinal static stability margin by moving the relative position of the center of pressure in function of the center of mass. The design below has been chosen to simlify any calculation. The wing, horizontal tail, and vertical tail are square. The propulsion is aproximatly inline with the center of mass. Flying and trimming the aircraft while monitoring the aeroGUI should allow you to observe the same issue. Fixes / Workarounds (if known..) None. A list of ALL mods. If the list is long, please consider using a spoiler window. None. Other Notes / Screenshots / Log Files (if possible..) The test below show the effect described above. The airplane is flown and trimmed until it reach quasi level flight (easier said than done). This has been done for two postition of the wing, changing it's longitudinal static stability margin. Them the lift was recorded. The measurement was repeated at 4 second interval to assess the quality of the level flight. Wing position 1: Wing Position 2: Measurement: Wing position 1: Higher longitudinal static stability margin; Dry mass: 3.34t; Total mass: 3.98t; Mass: 3.78t; Weight: 37.069kN; avg Lift: 59.91kN; Ground speed: 179 m/s; Load factor: 1.62. Wing position 2: Lower longitudinal static stability margin; Dry mass: 3.35t; Total mass: 3.99t; Mass: 3.80t; Weight: 37.265kN; avg Lift: 50.93kN; Ground speed: 185 m/s; Load factor: 1.36. It is important to note that the load factor in level flight is supposed to be 1.0. It is also interresting to note that the thrust is higher than the drag. And if we look at Wing Position 2 the mach number slightly drop while the drag is lower than the thrust. It is also part of the problem. I'm unable to assess if this is an aeroGUI bug or an aerodynamic model issue. But issue there is. Thanks to @Buzz313th , who helped me understand that the issue might be linked to longitudinal stability. (Maybe) Linked issue:
  23. Today I wanted to try aerodynamics. I ran into a lots of issue. The first one is that the shape of the airplane does not seem to influence the ability of the airplane to break the sound barrier. As can be seen from the image below the airplane fly in low atmosphere at Mach 2.6, without any shape optimization. Either the aerodynamics does not simulate the shock wave drag and its relation with area rules or the thrust of this motor is way too high! Second issue I had is about trimming. As can be observed in the screenshot below, the airplane is gliding at around 250 m/s, with all control surface at 30° deflection to increase lift and pitching moment. It is generating around 170kN of lift force and weight about 40kN. Even with a lift that is enough to fly a 4G maneuver, the airplane can almost not pitch up. When the engine is running it is perfectly trimmed at those speed but without engine it is flying like a stone. All of the above is extremely counter intuitive and seem very unrealistic. I suppose some more work is urgently needed in the aerodynamic simulation section.
  24. I landed on Mun on third attempt and I walked around and the issue began after planting a flag. I was returning to the lander and the options to climb and board were showing but the Kerbal is not interacting with it. I did press a button that made a peep noise but didn’t know what it was when typing out the description for the flag. I cannot climb or board the lander.
