  1. Recently an annoying white spot appeared near my vessel. LIKE THIS: It causes fps drop (from ~30 to <10) The fps will back to normal when I choose not to watch it like this How to fix it
  2. I'm returning after well over a year of a pause. I quit somewhere around 1.0.3, and only recently began playing anew. I like the new features, and I'm adapting to the changes (like the A.I.R.B.R.A.K.E.S. are no longer totally OP; no longer possible to land on Kerbin directly from return trajectory from Minmus). I saw some old bugs unfixed though, and I wonder what I must be cautious about, and where can I go wild. I know: - the large decoupler is still bugged to hell. Had a launch stage fly right through the orbital stage, leaving through the front.) - the random overheating bug. Not sure where it comes from. Came to a craft mid-flight, and saw just empty space. Log showed "[everything] exploded due to overheating" - markers (craft, target position) on the rendezvous planning are still wonky as hell, vanishing at random. Possibly more so than they used to be. - VAB editor still sometimes thinks radial symmetry placement of tanks attached to hydraulic detachment mainfolds means "place all tanks around the current mainfold" instead of "attach tanks to remaining mainfolds" but... - is the Klaw still a Kraken-bait? - Do I still need to fear the large service bay? - do engines throttle to near zilch while ISRU is running? - does mining+ISRU still deplete asteroids at staggering pace while all fuel tanks are full and a little fuel is drawn (e.g. by fuel cell) - do jet engines still have that funny center of mass placement? How is it with the new engines? - when docking, does the target appear in the navball in the docking port direction from the root part, and not from the "control from here" docking port? Also: the lab used to return the experiment after processing it into data. Is that still the case, or does lab-processed experiments vanish permanently?
  3. When I load up a Craft, the camera glitches out, it gets stuck and I can't leave the craft or switch craft, I have to Alt+Tab out of KSP and close the game, please help I am planning to do a new series on Youtube and I cant do it with this glitch
  4. I'm trying to make a HUGE Nuke on Xbox One and I'm attaching a bunch of rockets onto the base rocket in the middle, but everytime I try to go to the launch pad to try to take off all the parts start flying EVERYWHERE while staying attached, and they're basically no clipping through my ship and I can't take off because when I start the engine all of the parts That are flying everywhere start and my ship spontaneously combusts into a huge explosion. Please help!
  5. KSP Version: Version 1.1.3 , patched via patcher today at 22:39 CET, OS: Windows 7 64-bit What Happens: Cannot purchase nor place researched parts Mods / Add-Ons: All Stock Steps to Replicate: 1) Start a new game 2) purchase the parts at the R&D Centre 3) go to construct first rocket 4) newly purchased parts still need to be purchased at R&D centre 5) Also cannot place a normal rocket engine underneath the first tank properly, doesn't snap into place, only upside down... Result: Literally cannot play the game this way, can't build anything
  6. Ok. If this turns out to be useless I'll delete. I'll be erasing the already fixed bugs from the list (Feel free to add more). Edit: I've only found about about the Bug Reporter now, didn't know I do anything there but to see which bugs have already been addressed. So I'll be reporting these bugs from the list there as well. -Unable to target a survey/observation mission marker from the Map View mode. When I click over the marker a small blank window pops up (also dropping my frames down to somewhat close to 5FPS until I close the window). This same window should have a button called "Activate Navigation" so I could see the survey place from the NavBall -Cannot change Damper and Spring values of landing gears like in the PC version - It doesn't show up when I open the landing gear settings window in the editor (Bug?) -When I build crafts with the landing gears connected to an aerodynamic part or a girder strut and try launching it, as soon as the game loads on the runway the landing gear wheels are kind of stuck into the ground and start jumping in place (the wheel stress bar also keeps jumping as if it was hitting the ground constantly). The same thing happens when these same wheel get in contact with the terrain (I tried dropping the craft from a small height with the Launch Stability Enhancer, but as soon as the wheels touch the ground this glitch happens) -Cannot see the "Gear blocked Yes/No" indicator when opening the context menu on the landing gears. -Sometimes I cannot close a opened context menu nor can open others, forcing me to reload the game. This happened yesterday, I opened the context menu from the air intake from my craft and couldn't close it by pressing B, nor could I open other's parts context menus. -FPS drop with Dynawing Final Approach Scenario and Dynawing Reentry Scenario (Seriously needs a fix on these FPS drops - I've bought KSP on console because my PC wouldn't run it very well. And then I have FPS drops (Noticeable Drops!) on the Xbox as well...). -Tutorial mission popup's always take me off the craft controls. This is a problem in tutorials which involves orbiting maneuvers. As I'm trying to cut throttle to stop a burn the bloody menu pops up, forcing me to have to switch back to ship controls first so I can then cut the burn (it normally makes my burns go past the line, forcing me to burn retrograde (or the opposite) to fix it). -Crafts falling into the ground and exploding when loading a quicksave on the runway -Unable to switch steerable landing gear control to trigger button. I wish you could set the steer axis to the trigger as you can do with Yaw controls when activating Advanced Flight Mode (<Modifier> + <Y>)
  7. Just to be clear, I'm not ranting here, just speaking for me and my fellow console players. First off, congratulations to Squad and Flying Tiger for porting this amazing game to consoles. Of course some bugs were to be expected. My only issue is the lack of response we've gotten as to when we can expect fixes. I'm sure you guys are super busy, especially considering that you're actively hiring at the moment. We would just love to see something along the lines of "Hey guys, we have acknowledged these issues and we're sorting them out asap. You can expect to see a fix in the next few days" or something along those lines. I live and breathe KSP and I personally, am unable to play on the PC, so this is gut wrenching for me. I can handle a few bugs here and there but we have a game breaker on both Xbox one and PS4. We would just like a little peace of mind knowing that we haven't been forgotten and knowing that we won't have to sit here twiddling our thumbs waiting on a fix for our purchase. I feel that the $40 we spent on this game at least merits some response here and there. Don't get me wrong, I'm no naysayer asking for my money back, just a (very) dedicated gamer waiting on my fix.
  8. I replied to a post a little while ago with this and I figured it might help if we all have a discussion to narrow down the root of the game breaking bugs. Please state your console followed by the full details leading up to your crash/loss of data. Here's my experience on Xbox One: Start a game, get multiple vessels in action (as in orbit, landings, and I'm pretty sure the MPLs might be playing a part in this), make sure you've got some debris from spent fuel tanks in orbit (might play a part in this) and then time warp. "Works" for me everytime. The game will crash, you re-open it and you are then reverted to an extremely earlier state. After that, it will continue to crash and it will always revert to the same state. Has anyone experienced this issue WITHOUT deploying any MPLs? This might help narrow it down.
  9. Read thread reply. Behold, my creation for eve. Album Pictures not in the right order, sorry. Now pay attention to this picture. I put the old opening posts content into code. It's content are no longer of importance because I found a workaround and I nailed down the issues at hand in specific in the reply to my own thread. But just in case you want to read the original thread, it's still visible. My constructive criticism still stands, so please read the reply to the thread. All the ladders leading up to the top where the capsule is work and the Kerbal can get up, except for the one nearest to the ground. My estimation is that it required about 90 minutes of using the "Move : Tool" in the VAB just to get the ladders right. "Right" meaning as far as I could get them right. And with 90 minutes I mean extensive testing under eves gravity and hyperediting. It's quite a bit more time then I needed to build the rocket itself (excluding landing system etc) That says something, don't you think? In the picture the Kerbal is actually falling (visible by the surface speed reading 5.3m/s on the altimeter). It got up 2 more steps. As far as the top of his helmet touching the height of the ladders casing and then falls down. "Move Tooling" the ladder forward, backward, or rotating it in the VAB does not work. You might think it's because the lander is on a slope. I already rotated the ladder in several directions, and it's leaning forward against gravity despite the slope, because as you can see the ladder itself is angled. Now, this thread is a little bit of a ask for help kind off thing. Anybody knows about a way to deal with this? Before you make suggestions about reworking the whole landing design. It must land on Extra large landing gears. In the full picture album you see theres a small glider attached to the underside. Only the length of the extra large landing gear allows it to fit underneath. I can't lower the landing gear after releasing the glider from the underside, because in KSP when you retract the gear the wheel brake and friction just cease and the rocket starts to move over the slope. This thread is about a ladder bug, the other one is why friction and brake effects cease when you retract your gear. Does the rubber of the gear wheels just turn into yelly or something? The result is that the lander picks up speed as the gear retracts and then tumbles over when it is fully retracted and anchors itself to the ground. Gear turns into yelly when your press to retract them, no matter your gear friction or brake power settings. So the gear must remain extended. Meaning there is some height to be gained from the ground and a ladder is needed to get there. The lander is intended to land on some kind of slope, because it's supposed to land on eves 7500m peak. So I can't retract them, meaning I need a ladder system. I can't make a ladder to the fairing base where the gear is attached to, because that would get in the way of the fairing, causing alot of explosions when I jettison the lower fairing that houses the glider, so that to is not a option. This is not the main fairing but the lower one, you see it being jetissoned on the 7th (7/8) picture in the album (see link above) I can't remove the fairing, it's not just for aesthetics, because it is supplying actual construction strength necessary to fit a rocket underneath without the whole shebang flexing into pieces. The only option I can think off is the ladder to and from one of the landing gears, but no matter how I position it, the kerbal falls off it 3/4 way to the top. I hope Squad sees importance in fixing landing gears that become banana peels when retracting and ladders you fall off and must be placed with pixel accuracy especially under greater gravity. I hope Squad does this and further ensures their game is actually working in perfect order. Programming is not my profession, I have no idea how difficult it is to fix bugs. Also I'm sure alot of bugs have been fixed already, it just seems that the ladder bug is a very old one and never got really fixed. But in contrast to adding a new Unity 5 engine, adding a heating and aerodynamic system makes fixing a ladder bug look like peanuts. I hope I made myself clear. I put hours into this lander "HOURS", and I'm optimistic about finding a workaround in the time being, I just wished I didn't had to. If anyone is willing to advice me on getting to make my ladder workaround I'd be really glad to hear him/her out. EDIT: You could suggest landing legs instead of gears. They're not tall enough to hold the glider underneath. And I would need 16 of them because less means they would brake on landing impact. And then there would be no room for the glider to manoeuvre from it's jettison position. I could launch the glider seperately to that location, but that defeats my wish of landing them both together. I already tried attaching the glider to the sides with some intuitive collection of girders and beams, but that also leads to instable aerodynamic disasters. I'm not saying there is no alternative to attaching the ladder to the landing gear. I'm just explaining the critical challenge, summing up what I already thought about and tried to implement, so you may be better able to look for the right thing to suggest. If I can't get help with this design because nothing may eventually allow a solution then this thread is basically a big RANT. It's kinda imbecilic to play a game that fails so that you lose not just hours but I'd guess a full day of your life building and testing to find out you can throw your creation into the trash because the game suffers from a bug that has never been fixed since V0.21 or lower. Sorry for using the word "failed" I'm just angry. KSP is the best thing that happened for wnthusiasts like you and me. But these are things that remind me how punishing this game can be, and it shouldn't be. The glitchyness of ladders is as old as their introduction. Possibly because of the few places you'll need them. Enough is enough squad! This deserves priority attention.
  10. This is the thermal image of my station in minmus orbit The radiator is overheating itself to arount 950K, and none of my vessel part is generating heat. Why !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????????
  11. So when ever i use any sort of wheels when i launch a spaceplane the wheels just go crazy and get fling all over the place
  12. Hi there. I was looking for help with the graphics on KSP. When I first open a new game everything seems to work fine, but after entering SPH or VPH hanger my background dissapears after exiting building. I am running without mods atm, and changing settings in the graphics menu doesn't seem to help. When I first installed the game this wasn't an issue, but after one of the latest updates it doesn't work. can anybody suggest a solution, I love this game but not being able to see the ground is ruining my game . I am Running AMD FX - 4130 Quad Core Processor 3.8Ghz 16GB Ram AMD Radeon R9 200 series Graphics Card
  13. Hi, the last few weeks have been a rough time for all modders. There were, or still are a lot of things to update and fix for the big 1.1 update of KSP (and the subsequent patches). Naturally, also the number of bug reports for the mods increased. This is totally okay, there are always new bugs introduces by such a big update. But lately, an increasing number of reported bugs are only caused by the fact, that there are still mods installed, that do not support 1.1. or are not cleanly installed/updated (as in remove the whole mod folder before installing the new one). These bug reports cause a huge overhead for us and are frustrating because they are completely avoidable. We invest valuable time to find out what is wrong with our mods, only to find out that the mod user didn't even invest any time to make sure the mods are properly installed (at least it feels like this). So before you report a bug, please Make sure that ALL the mods you use are compatible with the version of KSP you use. Remove the old folder(s) of a mod before you install a new version. If you use CKAN, install the mod manually into a clean (CKAN free) version of KSP to verify that the bug is caused by the mod and not CKAN. This will save a lot of time for both ends. We modders do not have to crawl through many log files and the user can use the mods without problems (and do not have to wait for the modder to tell them what is wrong)
  14. i only feel shame cause my comp. can't handle big memory.. this game is awesome but my comp. is olding.. i really like this game.. my favorite game at my steam library.. but man.. this game keep growing.. i feel sad cause i think one day.. my comp. is giving up running this game..
  15. Hi, so recently I have been experiencing a very obnoxious bug that I have seen in modded 1.0.5 and unmodded 1.1.1 The first time I experienced the bug was in 1.0.5 where I built a (heavily modded) plane that I was impressed of. I took it out for a test and failed the landing, causing the plane to crash. The Flight Report screen popped up, but the grey box was empty and had no text. Pressing Escape would cause the words "Outcome: Catastrophic Failure!" to appear. I blamed it on the mods, but when I played 1.1.1 just today, I encountered this same bug, this time without any mods. The bug also disabled reverting flight, and if I switched ships and returned to the Space Center that way, it would cause a CTD. http://imgur.com/a/GZ6RM <--- Here's photos of the bug If anyone knows how to fix this, that would be great. Thanks, Blanjipan
  16. List any bugs you find in the game (make sure to put version somewhere), and explain them.
  17. I sent a rocket to moho to observe the giant hole at the north pole and upon getting to above 85 latitude on moho all readouts changed to either 0.0 or NaN. The rocket and terrain also disappeared. I do not know if this occurs at other planets but I would like to understand why this happened. I tested this with the same rocket multiple times and the same thing happened.
  18. Hi all, I am having an issue where if I rotate rover wheels anywhere from 45 degrees from default orientation or greater, they will not accelerate my rover. The wheels will turn but not accelerate. I've done extensive testing and found this to occur even with good ground clearance, anywhere from one to all axles powered and regardless of vehicle mass or root part orientation. I can't see a reason why wheels wouldn't be performing normally, in terms of acceleration, in any orientation because well... its a wheel. Screenshots below showing default orientation, 45 degrees and 90 degrees. DEFAULT ORIENTATION (WORKS) 45 DEGREE ORIENTATION (DOESN'T WORK) 90 DEGREE ORIENTATION (DOESN'T WORK) Thank you for your time,
  19. Hi y'all i'm Planetfall, I made this dragonfly. I had a lot of fun make in this craft so I thought lets make a challenge to build insects with maybe kerbals riding on them! Rules: Since I want this thread to be about creativity I don't want too many rules, but I feel there need to be some guidelines. -You can choose any insect to model -Accuracy is a big plus, try to make the craft look reasonably similar to the insect you're modeling. Put up a photo of the actual insect so we can compare. -kerbal riders are not required, but are encouraged -your craft should be able to move (if the bug walks the model should roll, if the bug flies than so should your craft) Static models will still be accepted though -Have fun!
  20. Sometimes when launching a flight or switching to a flight, the screen becomes completely unresponsive. No matter if I'm alt-tabbed or in-game, none of my clicks register and I'm unable to use the keyboard at all (Not even using Activity Manager works at this point). Putting the screen down on my Macbook also has no effect at all, as it still stays on (Apple logo stays lit). Every time this happens, I have to restart my Macbook, and then it boots up completely fine. KSP also doesn't register it as a crash for some reason, but every time this has happened, I've been running it. Mods: - Scatterer (Which I've also noticed has started to glitch more with the water recently, with it appearing in a shade of red and black on occasion) - KSPRC - EVE - EngineLight - Final Frontier - Mechjeb - Mac OS X 64-bit workaround This has only recently started to happen. I have not installed any mods or done anything significant in this timeframe. I am running OS X 10.10.5 Yosemite.
  21. Don't get me wrong, I am super hyped about 1.1, but I'm wondering if it will solve the stability and bug issues. I think those two issues are the main problem in the fantastic game that is KSP, for example if you go to the negative reviews on Steam, (almost) the only thing you will see is that the game isn't stable, especially with mods. My question is will 1.1 make the performance of KSP significantly better? A read people saying that it the improvents will be huge and compare it with Besieged (that also recently updated to Unity 5 with a huge performance boost). And I also read about that you probably can't make bigger ships or that you barely get more FPS... Jonatan
  22. Hey Guys, So I just installed a bunch of mods, but now my x86 kerbal is pretty unstable. Any thoughts? Below is a screenshot of my CKAN in case you guys have any ideas. The main crashes I am getting involve switch modes, ie from one craft to another, or from a craft to a building and vice versa. Seems like most transitions. Would have to test more to figure out if I can be more specific than that. Thanks for your time
  23. Hopefully this is the right forum thread for this and thanks in advance for any help. I noticed that the Mach and shock heating effects seemed to become transparent when they are in between the camera and the ship. Not sure if this is a bug with KSP or caused by a mod. Screenshots: http://imgur.com/gallery/6Ugko/new Some of the mods (texture and visual effect related) I have installed are: 64K FAR N.A.N.A. Wildfire Destruction FX Stock Visual Enhancements Scatterer RealPlume - Stock Configs Dynamic Texture Loader Texture Replacer Kerbal Krash System Camera Tools Collision FX Please let me know if there are any other mods that may cause this problem, or if it's just a bug with KSP itself. Thanks again for any help.
