  1. So I learned that the Making History dlc just came out and I was wondering if or when this will come out for consoles. For people that are going to say “get a pc” “or why don’t you buy a pc?”. I had a pc but it not functional anymore and I do not want to spend over $1000 to get a computer that works as good as my Xbox one x. So all I’m asking is will this be out for consoles.
  2. PS4 Enhanced Edition, 1.01, default controls, normal difficulty, career mode. I haven't messed around with any settings at all, I have only ever played Kerbal on my PS4 console. Lots of useful chatter going on here. I'm glad to see the KSP community and Dev's are still actively pursuing the Kerbal Space Program for Console. I'm thrilled that the EE 1.01 patch fixed so many of the problems that were plaguing the console version. I have now for my first time, completed the science tree in Career mode, Year 2 and 50-ish days. Was really expecting some sort of party, but research is never really finished. My first interplanetary sortie to Duna was a partial success. I was able to get there with two space probes, deploy some comm satellites, and attempt landings on both Duna, and Ike. Unfortunately I didn't install proper relay (any relay comms ) so, yeah. Partial success. Duna has a new crater with some litter around it, Ike has a lander that only occasionally wants to talk with Kerbal Space Command. My Probes currently enroute to Jool will no doubt have the same success rate... if I'm lucky. Right now my Kerbals and I are learning to spell the words efficient launch profile, and I have discovered a couple of different ways of how not to do interplanetary transfers. Also found out how to level Kerbals skills up, way, way, way late in the game. The Space Tourism market seems to be a reliable source of Income , so hopefully I'll eventually be able to land a fuel rover on Mun and Minmus for less cost than the Kerbal Space Hotel I'm currently assembling in orbit. I love this Game. Current gameplay concerns; -Physical Time warp, sounds like the nuke and Ion engine crowd want this. I've only been using chemical rockets so it haven’t bothered me... yet. -Since I started playing early on in the console release phase, I do not like the new throttle arrangement, because it's backwards to how I learned. Console controller is very busy and could use some work eliminating overlapping command button combinations. -Something needs to be sorted out with the trim setting being so easy to accidentally turn on, HAL keeps trying to crash my spacecraft. I suppose somebody might want to set the trim while making a burn in space, But I sure haven't wanted to. -Kerb-net remains a complete mystery to me. I haven't even accidentally landed on an anomaly yet. If I turn it on, I need to escape back to the space centre to get it off the UI. -Kerbal skills and abilities, I have landed bases on Mun and Minmus, I have Space Stations orbiting Kerbin, Mun, and Minmus, and I'm building a 40 room space hotel, I have docked , clamped, landed, recovered, rendezvoused, transferred, rescued, space walked, Mun walked, drilled and refined... while the pilots have gained useful skills, and the scientists have gotten faster, the engineers have only learned how to pack a chute or to fix a flat tire. -Seriously, the contracts need a proof reader. Please. For real. -The Admin building... just... why? I guess it might add something to the game, I just don't know what it is. Haven't used it at all, until recently I didn't bother opening the screen. I'm done the tech tree now so I guess I'll sell some science... -Interplanetary travel, Console Career players need some sort of alarm clock. and some sort of rough transfer planner. Unless I'm suppose to attempt all my interplanetary stuff in sandbox mode, the game needs some sort of alarm clock. - Haven't touched an asteroid and I don't want to.... yet. -VAB I haven't made any use of the advanced tabs, subassembly seems to be a mysterious method of telling me I can't attach things I might want to save. -I hear that console players can use a keyboard and mouse, haven't tried. If this is true, great, if it's not the game should have this option. -Flight controls for planes, I've read that there is an option for using a joystick, this is a must have for flying aircraft. I haven't tried yet. I like the idea of building and flying my own planes, and I have built and flown a few planes in KSP, but I mostly avoid it because I personally don't enjoy atmospheric flight with a controller and I abhor flying with a mouse. My suggestions for the console version, -Kerbal Alarm clock, add this function to the admin building ( even as a paid level unlock )..."Admin wants a mission to Duna, the transfer window is in three weeks." this will give console players an in game transfer planning resource that is sorely needed. Same for an interplanetary course correction Alarm clock, " Admin wants you to know your TPS reports are out of date, and Duna 1 is due for a course correction..". Or alarm reminder "That Duna 1 probe should be hitting the atmosphere by now, did you turn it on yesterday like we planned?" -Kerb-net, turn on this power hungry application and anomalies will show up if and when they do, also acts as a science reminder, "we're over Mun pole, should probably take a picture or something..", "Admin wants to know what this anomaly is on the front page of the newspaper", have Kerb-net show console players the Biomes and the places they haven't explored. -Kerbal skills, seriously. Engineers need to be able to scavenge parts from one craft to another, that's kinda how engineers become engineers in the first place. Science guys should be able to find/identify biomes and anomalies in the game. Pilots should be able to make a guess as to where they will land on a given trajectory, I'm talking about trying to land a pod at KSP. By level 3 these skills should be completely possible. -Contracts. Really really need to more clear. I can't stress this enough, they need some proof reading. If I'm continually missing a specific biome or science objective, you could offer a contract and show me what it is I'm missing. Same with Historical records and milestones. Also, If I have a Space Hotel, don't ask me to build another, ask me to fill it. As I suggested, Flight Joystick is something I'm missing in this game. I offer these suggested changes to the console game, mainly because it's a console game, not a computer game that has a readily accessible google tab I can refer to. I can and do play this console game without Kerb-net, um, without internet connection. That's all I have for now, I'm sure most of the problems I'm having are mostly because of me. I just wanted to add my input thus far as a console gamer. I'm looking forwards to any expansion or DLC for this Fantastic game!!! Cheers all!
  3. So for some of us, July 2016 seems like so long ago. Now we finally have what we have been promised, reworked from the ground up, A console friendly version of KSP. Did we get what we want? Did we get what was promised? I only had a chance to play with it for 20 mins last night so a few questions, Are the controls clunky or is it just me? I saw no launch button in assembly build and have to access it from the start menu. Is this intentional? Is there a Debug menu? wasnt that supposed to be part of the update? Auto-struts, is that was the Rigid assembly button it all about? i thought there was supposed to be more options than that? Still....pretty Shadows right?
  4. I'm playing KSP Enhanced Edition 1.01 on PS4, Career Mode, normal difficulty, default controls. My Kerbals seem to have stopped earning experience, "No Experience Gained" after every mission. I've been trying to do things like cycle all the Kerbals to the space station, and Mun base do do their various jobs but I seem to be capping out at level 2. I have rescued quite a few Kerbals, and they are all very low level, so I'm about to launch a few missions specifically to earn some experience and get them to a useful level. My space program is about to launch it's first Duna probe, so interplanetary Kerbals aren't happening yet. After looking at some videos on how to accomplish this, I have a couple questions; -Do Kerbals gain experience for doing job specific tasks? -Do all Kerbals on a Mission have to EVA and plant flags on the Mun and Minmus? Or will one flag be enough for the group? -If I orbit the Mun or Minmus, do I have to come back on a different mission to get the experience for doing a landing? It "seems" that they will only get experience for one thing per celestial body. -Do my Kerbals all have to orbit Kerbal and then on a different mission plant flags on Kerbal? Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated...

  11. Hi all, This is a challenge meant more for the newbies however given what I did the other day it might also be interesting for the experienced as well. Basically, perform a rendezvous maneuver with two crewed craft in a new career save in as little amount of launches... Without upgrading the tracking station. (Fulfill the Contract Explore Kerbin - Rendezvous). Rules: 1. Open a new career save on Normal Difficulty (you can have any G-Force or CommNet options on, doesn't really matter). 2. Never upgrade the tracking station. 3. No mods allowed. 4. KSP 1.3, 1.4 or enhanced edition allowed. 5. Cancel velocity of the two crafts within 2.5km of each other. Scoring: Number of total launches required to achieve rendezvous is the scoring. Might come up with a better scoring system because this technically allows rendezvous at the second launch. Lowest score gets first. Please post evidence of all launches and their highest achievement, as well as the resultant rendezvous. Also name each craft. Example Scoring: Six craft: Hopper I, Hopper II, Hopper III, Stayputnik, Hopper IIIA, Hopper IIIB Score: 6
  12. I have seen many a YouTube video where he/she has there own custom flag. i do not know if this is a copy and paste thing with the pc only. if there is anyone who knows how to get custom flags please tell me.

  14. Okay, So speaking to a few people on the facebook group (Kerbal Space Program: Enhanced Edition (Console)). Some people have experienced very minor bugs on console (no game breaking bugs). We got into discussion, and these people hadn't turned on advanced tweakables. when i asked them to turn them on they both started experiencing game breaking bugs. I'm curious if there is anyone here experiencing major bugs with advanced tweakables turned off? If that is the base cause of most of the major issues it could: a) be an easy work around b) easy to patch possibly i'm going to try it out tonight but i would like other peoples input too...i promised myself i wouldn't go through all this again and start looking for work arounds and causes but here i am again. I'm such a mug
  15. Playing my previous save last night (see Here) I noticed, after unlocking some of the higher performance aircraft parts, that my Kerbal weren't suffering any ill effects from the high G loads my erratic flight generated. In my haste to start a new game after downloading the Enhanced Edition, I hadn't gone into the advanced settings to turn on the options I usually use. So, time for a new game! Yey! A productive morning has seen me launch high altitude sounding rockets (well, not exactly as Jeb was strapped, kicking and screaming into the capsule - thought he was Badas$=true!) then into orbit followed by Mun and Minmus Fly-bys. The only problem I'm having so far with the console version is that I have to wait until the rest of the household retires for the night before I can play again! I plan to make a very simple runaround vechile to hoover up the science points available at the different buildings of the Space Centre, which will give me the last tech tree node I need for a fully fledged landing mission. After visiting each of the biomes on the Mun and Minmus, I plan to set up an orbital laboratory complete with separate landing craft to re-visit each biome and take the reduced science point totals back to the lab for processing. Once the tech tree is all unlocked, it will be off to Duna. I've landed robotic craft there (no need to worry about getting back home) before on the PC, but have never sent a crew. I'll keep adding to this thread to keep a record of the Programs achievements and failures, but please feel free to leave any comments.
  16. So I’m not necessarily asking for a release date, but considering the past console port, lack of support and transparency, I have to ask: Will it be days, weeks, months or years before we finally get a fully working product? I love you guys and I think I can speak for most of us console players when I say that you guys sincerely broke our hearts and threw it in a blender when you gave us that first tease of a port and then left it for dead. I absolutely adore KSP and it’s torture not knowing when I can play the game without worrying if it’s all going to be for nothing. With all that being said, when can the hype train for the big patch leave the station?
  17. I'm not sure if this counts as a bug, or a design issue, but tonight I found its possible to get stuck in the Space Plane Hanger. If you are in flight and choose the "Revert to Hanger" command )from the menu you access from the Options button) the game will often revert the craft back to the runway and then place you in the SPH. When you then select "Launch" from the same menu, you will get a dialogue box saying there is already a plane on the runway, along with 2 options. "X" to clear the runway and proceed or "Circle" to abort the launch. All works fine if you have the parts displayed on the left hand side of the screen however, if you have switched from "parts" to "assign action groups" neither the "X" or "Circle" will work. In this situation, you can't switch to Cursor Mode and there seems no way to dismiss the dialogue box or do anything other than move about the action groups. The only way I could find to solve the problem was to press the PS button, close the game and then restart. I haven't had the chance to try the same process in the VAB.
  18. It can be tricky, when trying to attach something to the nodes inside a cargo bay, to get everything to line up properly, so it attaches to the node rather than the side of the cargo bay. When playing on PC you can hit a key that ensures the part you are adding will only attach to an open node. Is there a similar feature on the console (specifically PS4 for me) version?
  19. Had to restart the game from the previously mentioned Mission Control bug. Loaded in and all quicksaves and saved ships from both VAB and SPH have disappeared. Reset the game again and they still not there. Did the game delete them? Turns out that I can no longer save ships I've built or even launch a ship from either the VAB or SPH. I can build ships but as soon as I click launch or save ship, the "Return to space" "Launch" "Open craft" "new craft" "Save craft" buttons are all greyed out. The other buttons work but can't back out only reset. But resetting the game doesn't fix it. Can I get a refund? Don't really wanna start again to bug test a broken game I payed full price for.
  20. Greetings Fellow Kerbals! I'm really excited to see the Enhanced Edition hit consoles. I recently purchased KSP ED on PS4, and I'm wondering how to generate Crew Reports. I've tried selecting both the Command Pod and the Kerbal Pilot with the cursor, but no joy!?!
  21. Anyone else test use a Twin Boar engine and get a strange crackling/clicking sound when the engine is powered up? The noise I hear is following a specific repeated pattern. If I put the throttle to zero the noise goes away, if I slowly throttle up or down, the pitch of the crackling changes along with throttle up/down. It sounds like this was maybe supposed to be part of the engine noise, but the crackling I'm hearing just doesn't seem to really fit. I have never noticed this noise with Twin Boar on previous KSP Xbox version, nor have I heard it with the PC version.
  22. I decided today that I wanted to play a Sandbox mode game (first time ever on EE) to try out some things I haven't gotten to yet on my career game. I clicked on sandbox, edited game name, changed flag, hit A to start.....AND I had no Kerbin. All I see is outter space. Gene Kerman gives his usual tutorial, I can go into individual buildings, but if I try to launch a pre-made ship, for example, I am taken to a launch pad in the middle of space. Colors missing, no actual planet, etc etc. Deleted, restart new sandbox. Same issue. Appears Sandbox was completely broken for me. I then tried to load up my existing Career save, and it now behaves the exact same way. It had been 5-7 days since I last played, but now, anytime I try an old save or a new game, Kerbin is not loading and the game is unplayable.
  23. I've played KSP on and off for a couple of years now, but always struggled getting the game to run smoothly on my aged laptop. With everything turned down to minimum, it could just about chug along. Having long since given up the dream of having a nice gaming PC, I took the plunge and went for a PS4 for my 50th birthday. I've really enjoyed some of the games (namely Witcher 3, Cities Skylines, MudRunner and AC: Origins) but missed the mental workout that you get from KSP. So, when I saw the Enhanced Edition had arrived on the Play Station Store, I crossed my fingers and bought it straight away. I've started afresh in my favourite game mode - Science. No angry customers when things go a little off plan and as much tax payers money as my Space Program needs. I've just completed my first Mun Fly-by and I have to say I'm rather pleasantly surprised. The controls are never going to be as intuitive as the traditional keyboard and mouse but after only a day's play, I was able to do everything I wanted to and, more to the point, didn't do anything unintentional. It's nice to see the game a little more like how it's supposed to look. With the better textures and shadows (beyond my previous laptops abilities) you get a much better sense of height above the ground. Sure, I'm going to miss the wonderful Better Burn Time mod, but at least I'm back in the game.
  24. I know the answer to this is already on the forum, but I just can't seem to find it. Could someone please clarify how you both set and remove trim whilst using the Radial Control preset on PS4 please? I've managed to accidentally set the trim on one axis or another (usually roll) and I've also managed to clear it, but however I managed it, I don't seem to be able to repeat the procedure. Another more general question - does anyone have a link to the full set of controls when using the Radial preset? I haven't been able to find a full list and have stumbled across quite a number of useful controls whilst experimenting. I'm actually finding the radio menu's to be almost as easy and quick to select as the mouse keyboard combination on the PC, but it would be nice to have a complete crib sheet. Cheers Clipper
  25. Hi all, After an enforced break from KSP, due to the lack of a laptop/PC to play it on, I was delighted to see the new port to PS4 has been released. As an aside, so far I'm impressed. The radial control menu's take a little getting used to, but I'm surprised how easy it is to do things after being used to the keyboard mouse combo. The only thing I can't work out how to do; in order to choose the option "Warp to next maneuver node" you have to be on the map screen. Once you start the time warp, is there any way to switch back to the main view, or do you have to stay in map view? It's not a major issue, but I do like to watch my target getting closer as I travel! Regards Clipper
