  1. I want KSP2 to allow me to relive the feeling I had when I first saw: - the Prometheus landing - Ad-Astra moon rover ride (before the pirates) - LV-426 derelict discovery (everything feels so dark, cold, stormy, the star so far away..) - Falcon Heavy twin booster landing - any IVA rocket take-off during which I just hope it doesn't blow up / IVA landing during which I look at the sensors and hear the proximity alarms and hope i don't crash: like this What space exploration feeling are you chasing (from real-life, movies, games, cinematics etc.)?
  2. RULES: I post a thing that could fail horribly, and does. The next poster comes up with a set of famous last words to match the failing thing, and comes up with another dangerous system. This just continues for 1 eternity. Let's go! A man walking along a cliff falls off.
  3. Annoy the user above you! Rules: No profanity / offenses Annoy only the user above you only No personal stuff
  4. The game works like this, one person will say something fortunate, and the next player will say something unfortunate to counter that good thing. In addition to this, the player that responds to the fortunate thing will also state another fortunate thing. Like this: Player 1: Fortunately I was wearing a parachute. Player 2: Unfortunately it had a hole in it. Fortunately I won the million dollar prize! Player 3: Unfortunately it came in change and was too heavy to carry. Fortunately the repairman could fix it. And on and on and on. However you cannot post twice in a row, cuss, or make fun of someone else or their story. I’ll start: Fortunately I got an A on the test.
  5. Hey there ya'll! So I decided that since I like model making, it would be a fun idea to make a thread where you guys show off your work and we can discuss everything from tabletop wargaming to large-scale models. I'll start with a diorama I did the other day. I love Naval models, especially the Kriegsmarine from WWII, because of their gorgeous battleships, notably the Bismarck and Tirpitz. This was just a test of different things, and I used Semi-gloss paint because I didn't have any flat. The water is made from Toilet-paper and glue, and the ship models come from the game Axis And Allies. Smoke is made with cotton, and the "water" is painted with acrylic. Another shot of the diorama, this time showing the wake of both ships and the water in entirety. (Yes, the wake is too large, I know, it's just that I tried like 5 times to get it right.) The one on the right is the SMS Bismark, the one on the left is an unknown cruiser class. I'll just say it's the SMS Graf Spee and be done with it. I have also made a German aircraft carrier, the SMS Graf Zeppelin, and a few Panther tanks, but they wouldn't come in focus for a photo. I look forward to seeing your builds!
  6. You must post a meme and the poster after you has to guess the game it's from.
  7. So, I've been playing a bit of the old 4X game Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri a lot lately (by the way, if you don't have it they sell it on Steam, and GOG.com has regular sales of it) and felt like discussing it with other Kerbalites... Hopefully it's within the subforum rules to discuss this old game here? Anyways, Alpha Centauri was a game and a work of science fiction far ahead of its time in many ways. It powerfully envisioned the future in such a compelling way I still find myself quoting it from time to time (and I don't usually quote games). Here is one of my favorite quotes from the game, for instance: "Human behavior is economic behavior. The particulars may vary, but competition for limited resources remains a constant. Need as well as greed have followed us to the stars, and the rewards of wealth still await those wise enough to recognize this deep thrumming of our common pulse." - CEO Nwabudike Morgan, "The Ethics of Greed" - There are many other interesting and thought-provoking quotes in this game on everything from how to fight a war, to the nature of liberty. For instance: "Beware of he who seeks to deny you access to information, for in his heart, he dreams himself your master." - Commissioner Pravin Lal, "U.N. Declaration of Rights" - I'lI have to post audio clips of the in-game readings of these quotes some time, because Alpha Centauri's voice acting is simply superb. Anyways, for now that should be enough to bring back a few memories and stimulate some discussion. Go forth and converse! Regards, Northstar
  8. Hi, i noticed that, from the day i started contributing to the ksp community, i somehow played less and less ksp and put more time into contributing to it. But i dindt stop playing games at all. Its simply that im not a mere consumer anymore. So i started playing minecraft again and also some witcher 3. What are the games you enjoy playing apart from KSP?
  9. Okay, so I just randomly came up with this a few minutes ago, and I'd rather not lose the idea. If this exists somewhere else, I'm sorry. Description: Basically, what you do is make a word as close as possible to being correct with a set of randomly-smashed keyboard inputted letters that the poster above you makes. It does not have to be spelled right, it just has to sound like the word if pronounced out loud You do not need to use all the given letters Rules: Keep it clean Do not use a letter more than once Try to keep your random letters somewhere between 5-10 characters You can make short phrases rather than short words, but keep in mind to not use the same letter more than once Example: Poster #1: iunerfoa Poster #2: foany (phony) fgwojwg and it goes on and on... I'll start: ______________________________________________________________________ ohwibvhg
  10. So, in League there's a thing where you can score multi-kills in matches, up to the elusive and revered "Pentakill", where you somehow manage to land the killing blow onto all five members of the opposing team. I've only ever had one of these, until today that is: The only reason I got that I think is because I hung back from the initial fight, long enough at least where everyone had already used their abilities besides myself. Arcane floods ensued, and in the end I stood over six corpses, a fallen ally and the entire other team. The match finished up pretty quickly after that, but I feel good.
  11. Steam winter sale is on yet again. Bit of a change this year - there are no "dailies" or "flash" sales going on. One sale price, for the whole two weeks, on every sale item. This makes choosing a time to buy a little easier, but also makes searching for good deals harder - because the search functionality leaves a lot to be desired. And with more than 10,000 sale items just looking for random good deals is darn near worthless. So, we need to make suggestions to help each other out. I'll start: KSP is again 40% off ($24) Terraria is $3.40. All the Lego games are on sale too. There are a whole bunch, and they're all fun. Any suggestions for what I should look for?
