  1. For some reason, whenever I have kerbals in their External Command Seats in 1.8.1, I can see them through all the parts. I have no parts/ texture replacement mods installed, just a couple of visual and some helpers. How do I make this stop? Here is a picture of this phenomena:
  2. I don't know why this is happening, but sometimes, when I have a vehicle on the launchpad and either recover it and launch another vehicle or choose to fly it, the icon for the launchpad stays on the screen during flight and when I am in map mode. I've tried doing stuff like going back to main menu and then going back into the save, but it still stays there, even on the main menu. I know this is a bug, but i'm not sure how to fix it other than closing and re-opening the game. Below are some screenshots i took of this bug/glitch. And this is in Kerbal Space Program 1.8.0, if you're wondering what version. (Also, I can interact with it, but when I click the fly or recover button, nothing happens)
  3. I have a Soyuz ship that has to have permenantly opened antennae, but they break on assent now. Am I the only one who has this?
  4. First off, hello, names imagine. I'm here because i have had at least 5 contracts flat out break for no apparent reason and ive only had the game for about two days. Current one, after restarting 3 times, several hard resets, redownloads, etc., is the flea booster test. Several times ive had all conditions green, ive tested, ive hit through sequence, i have done everything i can think or find to get this to work, to no avail. Im going crazy here, litterally losing sleep over it. I love this game so much its depressing how bad career mode is breaking. The saddest part is, i know there's nothing that can be done other than a patch, and there are posts just like mine dating months and months back, so what the hell is going on? I'd be satisfied with at least a reason to why the game is broken, and has remained broken for so long. I paid good money to be able to play career mode, so i want it to work properly and it just doesnt seem like anythings being done about it. If i would've known career mode was unplayable, i absolutely would have thought twice about my purchase. Any replies, good or bad, are appreciated. I think its time the developers get with the program and at least explain to the people paying their bills, why our games arent working. Thanks. -Imagine
  5. http://prntscr.com/p1iax1 When ever I go and install EVE and SVE the graphics never change... What do I do?
  6. Hello everyone, I wanted to play KSP for a long time now and finally found some time and bought it. Unfortunately I am getting some weird video glitches in-game, as seen here: https://imgur.com/a/12FnXaA I'm running the game on Windows 10 using a Dell XPS 15 9560 Notebook with i7-7700HQ CPU, 16GB RAM and dedicated GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card (notebook edition). As soon as the glitch appears it does not go disappear until I close KSP. Usually it starts shortly after I start a Training scenario or few minutes in, but I also had it during startup once. At one time I did receive a windows notification saying: "Application has been blocked from using the graphics hardware", so I ran the fix recommended in some other forums: [snip] I haven't received the message since (although I haven't tried too often because the game is unplayable), but the glitch is still there. I also made sure I am running on the Nvidia card instead of integrated Intel graphics and reinstalled the graphics driver as well as reinstalling the game itself. It is also important to know that I have never had this issue with other games of applications. I can't seem to find any other thread dealing with that kind of glitch and was therefore not able to find any solution yet. I'd appreciate any kind of suggestion or idea you might have. EDIT: I had the "Application has been blocked from using the graphics hardware" again a couple of times. However, when I check the integrity of the game files via Steam it always either finds 1 or 2 corrupt files whenever the glitch appears (meaning every time in my case). Thanks in advance!
  7. Hello ! I have a little problem when i launch something : at few moments, a little white ball apears at the same place as the ship. These little balls dont have collision and absolutly dont move. If anybody knows a thing about that, thanks to help me ! little video if you want to see : https://drive.google.com/open?id=1it2FtqdbTE46gI0znc-ffBvthioIwZ87
  8. The ugly black ring from the surface of Tekto I recently started playing KSP with OPM. but while playing I noticed that the Kopernicus rings don't get affected by the Scatterer atmosphere of Sarnus or Tekto, this bothered me a bit.. Is there a way to fix this? And if I can't fix it myself, when is it getting fixed then? (sorry if i'm a bit impatient ) I would really like to know what and why. My apologies if there is already getting worked on it. Thanks. RJ. oh and I have KSP 1.7.3
  9. So when I go to minmus and explore the planet, the biomes that should be there, are not there. So, Flats gets mixed up with Lesser Flats. Slopes with lowlands, same with midlands. I've double checked the biome map online and my game and I know I'm in a spot where there should be a certain biome, but a different biome is present. I do have quite a few mods, but I removed all of them and did an uninstall/reinstall and I still have the same problem. Is it something gameplay specific? Something I'm not recognizing? A glitch? How do I fix it? My kerbal doing the research is a scientist on a rover. Mods: Filter Extensions, BoulderCo, Community Kit/Pack/TechTree, Distant Object, EVE, GEAFlags and Terrain, Grounded, Interstellar Mods/fuel switch/hybrid rocketry, KAS, Kerbal Engineer, Joint Reinforcement, KIS, MechJeb2, Modular FlightIntegrator, Patch Manager, PlanetaryBaseInc, RealPlume, Scatterer, SmokeScreen, TextureReplacer, TweakScale, WarpPlugin Let me know if you need more details
  10. Not so much of a question as a comment: I’ve noticed that while a Kerbal is trying to walk a distance on the Mun, they will sometimes take a few steps then middle-step will begin to twitch, which slows them down to nearly a stand still. It’s extremely annoying when you’re out of MP and trying to hump it to location (in my case making it to a rescue vessel after I survived a crash). I’ve found the fix is to look down toward the ground as you’re walking, far enough until it stops twitching. You can zoom way out if you lose sight of your destination tag. I suspect this may have something to do with them trying to walk in low g situation. I don’t recall if this is a problem on Kerbin. Of course the best fix is to unlock the Probodobodyne RoveMate and build a Rover.
  11. So, I've been playing ksp for some time and one day most of the textures decided to glitch and stretch out for miles and I wanted to know if this was a fixable problem or common and if it might be my graphics card thats too old to run ksp properly.
  12. Heres a pic of it happening: https://imgur.com/a/yU6BGBA It seems to happen whenever my rocket runs out of fuel if that tells you anything, and stops when I deploy parachutes PC specs: https://uploadfiles.io/c6at9 Output Log: https://uploadfiles.io/svdj3 I've already tried updating my drivers, reinstalling KSP, and verifying the vile integrity through steam. I'm out of options.
  13. Have you ever noticed that friction in KSP is a bit weird? I went to record the new EVA animations in KSP 1.6 for... reasons... and wind up recording 37.5 hours' worth of sliding downhill just to make a silly video. Can you blame me? Yes? Well... me too. 14. I have a rescue mission active, but the capsule the rescue target is in has no hatch. can someone help with editing the save file so that it is a capsule with a hatch? Also, how do I attach a file to the question? very new to the forums.
  15. I recently installed opm with sve, eve and scatterer but when im on tekto´s ocean it acts weird. When i zoom in a white circle apears covering the ocean Can someone tell me how to fix this
  16. What is a potatoroid I had it in KSP 1.4.3 but I have no idea how I unlocked it. Does anyone else have the potatoroid? all of the forms about it are dead, and all the unlock methods dont seem to work. (I have KSP 1.5.1 now)
  17. The Symmetry Glitch Description: In this topic I will explain a method for multiplying symmetry numbers that allows you to use a practically infinite range of symmetry numbers. The symmetry glitch involves how the game handles symmetry numbers, say you place a part with symmetry, such boosters on a rocket with 4 way symmetry, and you try to attach fins to those boosters with 2 way symmetry, upon doing so the game will automatically jump the symmetry number up to 4. This phenomenon is utilized in the glitch. By placing daughter parts on a parent part with symmetry, and then placing that parent part on a grand parent part with symmetry, the daughter parts are placed with multiple layers of symmetry, often creating far more than the maximum of 8 normally allowed. If you try to place a new part on the daughter parts, the symmetry number will jump up to however many daughter parts there are. This new part can then be placed on the grandparent part , and the abnormally high symmetry value will remain.(or any other part as long as it too is not attached with symmetry, as that will cause the symmetry number to jump to that value) From this information you can imagine the potential range of symmetry numbers: 3 x 6 = 18, 8 x 8 =64, 6 x 8 = 48, etc. Pressing the symmetry number will reset it back to 1 regardless of whatever symmetry value you currently have. However ctrl+x still reduces the symmetry number by 1. Meaning, if you started with 64 way symmetry you could press ctrl+x to get a symmetry value of 63, or 62, 61, 60, etc, all the way down until you get to 8. With the inclusion of a great-grandparent part you could even stack this effect on top of itself, and you can keep going from there. Though be warned, it's easy to crash your game by accidentally going way to high, taking this effect above symmetry numbers of 1000 is not recommended. This is a great tool for anyone who doesn't want to use too many building mods. Though for all it's greatness, you still can't do 5 or 7 way symmetry with it. Procedure: Here I will give a step by step procedure for those who are still having trouble. I will demonstrate how to do 64 way symmetry, although the procedure is the same for any symmetry number -1: Start with a grand parent part, this part will have all of the other parts attached to. This can be anything as long is you can radially attach parts to it, though I recommend that it be something large. You could also simply use the body of whatever craft you may be using this glitch on for this purpose. -2: Attach a parent part anywhere on the grandparent part. It doesn't really matter where as long as you only attach a single part. this part can be anything as long as you can radially attach parts to it, but I personally prefer to use Oscar tanks. -3: Attach a daughter part to the parent part with 8 way symmetry. this part can be anything as long as you can radially attach parts to it. Here again I prefer to use more Oscar Tanks. -4: Detach the parent part and reattach it to the grandparent part with 8 way symmetry. This will result in a total of 64 of the daughter parts -5: Attach a part to the daughter part, it could be anything but in this instance it is yet another Oscar Tank. It should be noted that you don't actually have to place this new part, as long as you mouse over the daughter parts the glitch will trigger. -6: Now place this new part on to the grandparent part, be careful not to mouse over the parent part or any other part on the craft that is placed with symmetry, as described above that will revert the glitch. At this point you can remove the parent and daughter parts, as they have served their purpose. And Voila! You have a part attached with 64 way symmetry, as described above you can reduce the symmetry value in increments of 1 to whatever you'd like. You can also attach any other parts and they will attach correctly with no further glitchy-ness. The game can even handle things like decouplers and engines attached this way. ASK QUESTIONS! If you are need of any further help or have other questions feel free to ask. This glitch can be done and used in various different ways, and I find it to be quite useful. I discovered this glitch around a year ago by accident and have been using it frequently ever since. It can be quite useful when making things like base 10 mechanisms or large circular designs. Have fun poking the kraken with this great building tool!
  18. I just installed planetary bases systems, Near Future Tech, cyro rockets, and all the other stuff that Nertea makes, which come bundled with a bunch of probably outdated config mods like b9 part switch, dynamic battery storage, etc. I am in 1.5.1. Have a feeling it's because of the b9 part switch thing that lets me modify the tanks' contents conflicting with something. I don't know how to make it stop. It stopped randomly once but it's happening again. It might be a hotkey that toggles this behavior. It's also freezing a lot, once every 0.25 seconds, staying frozen for a full second, as I hover over the big fuel tank/decouplers. I have editor extensions redux, as well as a lot of other mods I had prior to installing Nertea's stuff and PBS. Please don't come here to give me a lecture on how bad 1.5.1 is and how stupid I am for trying to use certain mods at certain times for certain versions or whatever. Just help me. I've noticed that I can use different levels of symmetry on a part that I placed on a rocket with a specific level of symmetry; i.e. I placed a decoupler with 3x symmetry but when I put the fuel tank on it with 2x (the only symmetry level I can use for fuel tanks at the moment for some reason) it has radial symmetry about the single decoupler that I am hovering over with the part. I have tried pressing F and it does nothing.
  19. Not sure what is causing this, but on Kerbin at Space Central the entire map is glitchy as heck. At any you try to move the camera around it looks like parts of the ocean are bleeding through the ground. Making any of the facilities unclickable. Another graphics glitch is around Eve. It makes the planet look like a gas giant when you try to zoom in. If anyone recognizes any of these types of Symptoms please chime in to let me know. Here is the entire list of Mods I have installed: https://ibb.co/mbpyBe https://ibb.co/nFMBWe https://ibb.co/nR9LPz https://ibb.co/dw1TBe
  20. I was bringing new kerbals to my Mun base. But when I came too close to the base, the base, rovers and landers around it exploded. After that I reloaded my save and looked carefully at the base by zooming out. I saw That the base was in the ground. and now (also when I swithed to the base) when I come too close it explodes every time How can I fix this?
  21. Multiple times now, Kerbal Space Program has crashed and I don't know why There are three crashes so far, and each crash happens when I land on Kerbin and return to Space Center and enter a building. I use unmodded KSP 1.44.2215. This actually happened about a week after I first downloaded and played the game. here is the latest report: Kerbal Space Program [version: Unity 2017.1.3p1 (02d73f71d3bd)] KSP_x64.exe caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005) in module KSP_x64.exe at 0033:74f7c704. 22. My mods are: Scatterer, Kerbal Engineer Redux, Trajectories, RCS Build Aid, Hanger Extender. I'm not sure when it started, but I've noticed this weird visual glitch where any overlapping parts flicker between eachother. The effect is mainly observable in flight. Craft when stationary: Craft in flight: This glitch only began to occur recently and I'm not sure why, it looks absolutely awful. While I'm not entirely certain, this glitch seems to have only started happening since I updated to 1.4.3. I also post my craft to KerbalX so getting good screenshots is important for me. The effect gets worse the farther the camera is from the craft, so screenshots with low FOV will show this effect even on stationary craft. Once again, the effect gets much worse when in flight. This effect, as you can see, occurs even on things like wing parts which are placed normally, since wings in KSP are designed to kind of clip into each other by default. This issue is seemingly unavoidable and extremely crippling. I'm not sure if any of my mods would cause something like this. My fear is that this is some bizarre stock feature (Maybe to prevent Z-fighting, or something?), in which case I'm completely stuck. It's so frustrating when I see no Z-fighting in the SPH only to get a glitchy mess in flight. It even occurs between fairing segments (Sorry it's a bit hard to see) I would MASSIVELY appreciate any help anyone can provide.
  23. I have a slight issue. I recently discovered the advanced tweakables option. It seemed really useful at first, but then i discovered that it messes with some modded parts. For example MechJeb doesn't work anymore. It just doesn't SHOW the GUI. Also, some of the parts from the station parts expansion have different modes, similar to different colors of fuel tanks. With advanced tweakables on, it causes them to all merge together into one. Turning them off and restarting them fixes it, but i can't use the mods at the same time as advanced tweakables. Please help, LusBax.
  24. System Specs: Ryzen 7 1700 Overclocked to 3.9GHz on a msi B350M Gaming Pro MoBo 16GB Patriot Viper Elite DDR4 @ 2133MHz GeForce GTX1060 6GB not overclocked EVGA 650GQ 650W PSU Boot Drive is 240GB San Disk SSD Plus Steam Library is on 256GB WD Black NVMe M.2 SSD So I am trying to play KSP and after first install it was working well enough didn't notice anything major but my FPS was kinda low. I read some forum posts and fiddled with the Nividia Control Panal settings followinf some suggestions. Afterward I noticed a slight increase in FPS but also getting instability. Stuff like game would freeze up and then come back to life randomly but would look all foggy out at launchpad, game would stutter randomly and I would get flashing and weird graphical glitches. Once or twice I got a crash to desktop. I reset everything back to default both on Nividia Control Panel and in KSP settings but problem persisted. Finally I uninstalled and the reinstalled the program. I thought everything was fixed. The game was playing fine for about 10-15 mins then out of nowhere system blue screened on me. After restart I ran stress tested my system with prime95 and no stability problems. I then ran CineBench and some GPU heavy Benchmarks (Unigine Superpostion 1080P High) just to make sure everything was running tip top. No issues system seems to be purring like a kitten. I have no mods installed. I am at a loss. I am running the x64 version. The only other thing I can think of is the new Nvidia Driver just installed today and I have had issues in past with other games after installing new GPU drivers. Weird. I really love this game and am bummed not being able to play. If anyone has any thoughts, ideas, or advice it would be much obliged. Thank you.
  25. I was building a space shuttle, and when I clicked the launch vessel button, it loaded me into a sky blue screen. the time was set for 9999999 years 9999days 999minuts etc. the altitude was 000000000.000 above the surface, and everything was acting so weird! when I checked the map, it was all normal except for the fact that it was focused on the sun. I waited a few minutes and nothing happened. I tried clicking things in the staging mode but it did not work. RCS and SAS buttons where a weird gray color and the text was white. eventually, I got tired of it and did an ALT+F4 and closed the program. when I opened it back up and clicked resume saved, the resume saved menu came up like normal., but when I selected the saved world that I had glitched on, and clicked "load" the button gave the indent animation like it always does when you click on it, but this time it didn't open the world. it just clicked waited for about half a second, and the unclicked. other worlds will open but this one won't! this is what the alt+f12 menu looks like
