  2. Hi everyone, I am having an issue where I crash to the desktop upon clicking the green launch button in the VAB/SPH. It seems like it tries to load but doesn't quite make it. I'm playing the 64 bit version and have tried OpenGL and forcing DX11. I'm running 25+ mods but didn't have trouble running this many around 6 months ago before I took a break.   4. I believe my KSP is corrupted. Almost every mod I install is patchy (list in hidden area below), I have resorted to pasting sooooooooooo many in just to test. Yeah, I'm desperate Here is my system stats: Latest version of Windows 10 x64 bit KSP x64 v1.2.2.1622 My suggestion: Can on new update you have the option of having an automatic installer replace your old KSP upon corruption????
  5. So I can change very basic stuff in BDA but I was wondering how to get it so that a part fires say 8 shots then needs to reaload. The reaload will be it cooling down from over heating but I'm new to configure files and if someone could help I'd really appreciate it. thanks in advance for your help
  6. Hello guys, im using windows 10 64bit pro, I h ave 2x4GB of dual channel Kingston 1666Mhz RAM. My PC Specs: CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4 Ghz GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6870 1GB GDDR5 256bit by PowerColor RAM: 2x 4GB Dual-Channel Kingston 1666Mhz RAM sticks.(DDR3) Hard Drive: SATA 2 only, Motherboard: Gigabyte 78LMT-S2 supporting up to 16GB of DDR3 ram. My game is pretty stable, i use like close to circa 40 mods. The game never crashed at all, tho I noticed that I get very low fps and a bit of lag when I have 2 separate ships, a battleship consisting of 330 parts, with a tiny bomber.. bla bla bla... at the same time around 12 km proximity. What can I do in order to increase smoothness, performance?

  8. I am writing a module config, which replaces the stock Ablator resource with a more realistic one. I got it to replace the resource with the new one, but the new one does not ablate upon reentry. Can anyone tell me what code I'm missing?   9. Hi, I am running a modded install of 1.3 and for some reason I have lost the ability of extending solar panels. I have no idea if this is a bug in 1.3 or a mod I am using. Can someone help?   10. Okay, As the title suggests, I have had issues since 1.3's release. I updated to the 1.3 release, and there has been "odd" occurances. The Server I play, http://nonameships.pw/, has multiple sub-servers, such as career and sandbox. I joined sandbox after playing some carrer, and this showed up: As You can see, there are some VERY wrong things in here. For one, The cost for a crew member is all zeroes. There is the "Xp Trait " Character In the bottom left of the crew. Apparently, there are no other crew members than these 12, even though there are over 200 kerbals on the server. I can not un-select kerbals when filling a vessel, nor can i add any. New crew cannot be hired, and there are no vetrans, or lost crew(a LOT of kerbals died on this server, mind you.) When I switch to the Career Server, it acts normal. Help? I have no additional Part addons, only kopenercus for planet packs(its not active right now) and K.E, with a hangar extender to boot(I installed after this occurred. Graphic mods are also installed. I have nothing that would cause changes to the astronaut complex. Thanks In advance!

I tend to do everything in my power to make the game as realistic as possible so i was wondering if there is a mod out there that makes it so everything including solar panels and fairings makes debris when destroyed? instead of just making temp objects that delete themselves. I know it would make the game harder and more laggy but immersion is everything.

Answer : It uses the same bit mask pattern as SituationMask but determines where the result will vary by biome as well as situation.   15. Currently in my sandbox playthrough I'm colonising Laythe. I use extra-planetary launchpads and a plethora of other mods. At what point do you think I should allow myself to spawn in a kerbal konstructs launch site? I was origionally thinking after I surpass 200 on-world residents. But I figure I need more requirements as that seems a little too easy. I need more input. Like, maybe how many drilling facilities should be required? Or how many trucks/transport vehicles should I have?

Start KSP Result: The game seems to work fine until it's loaded about 10 to 15% (edit: ~53%.   17. Please Help. I haven't been able to play KSP since the newest update! Here is an explanation of the problem: So, I launched KSP on steam, like I always have, without updating my computer or anything different. Just a normal day. I notice the new loading pictures, wich i think are pretty cool, and then at around 75% or so of loading the game, It stops. It just stops. It stops on the asset: Squad/Parts/Wheel/roverWheelXL3/roverWheel3. I tried again, and it didn't work. So I turned off steam and opened it again and tried. Didn't work. I turned off my computer and left it for an hour or so and tried again. Didn't work. This all happened after the newest update occurred. So i uninstalled the game and reinstalled it. Didn't work. But the strangest thing is that I got rid of the mods I currently had installed after it stopped working, but it still reads the assets in the mods, even though there are no mod GameData. I searched through my computer and i seemed to still find a few files from the mods, but I don't want to mess up something, since I am really bad at this sort of thing, so I let them be. But how can mod files get to other places, even when I deleted their GameData? Creepy. Their assets appear in the loading bar, even after I reinstalled the entire game. But I just want to know how I can easily fix this, not about how the mods are getting through. It also always stops at: Squad/Parts/Wheel/roverWheelXL3/roverWheel3. Every single time. I have no idea what this has to do with anything, but since the update, it has never gone passed it. Btw my laptop is a MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015) / 1,6 GHz Intel Core i5 Processor / 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Memory / Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536 MB Graphics. And I haven't changed anything with it. No mouse change, no setup change, no internet change. Just nothing. Im pretty sure its related to the mods or the update, but I don't know how to fix it, because I don't do this sort of thing. ;-; Do I need some sort of module manager or what? All i need is simple instructions in to what on earth I need to do (because im a noob at this stuff :(. I just want to play my ksp). (remember that I have a Mac)
  18. I have download KAS. I have placed all the contents in the correct locations. All of the parts work. However, the entire inventory system doesn't work. I can't right click a Kerbal to open their inventory. I can't use a container's inventory. What should I do?!
  19. so ive been playing modded ksp for months then out of no where today when i went to launch ksp it crashed on startup. i tried to restart but it did the same thing. i even deleted mods one at a time to see if it was a certain mod. after a while i ended up resetting my computer to factory settings to see if that worked, to no avail .i guess what im asking is how do i keep this from happening. here are my comp specs: processor:intel(r) celron(r) cpu 1007U @ 1.50GHz 1.50GHz installed memory(RAM): 4.00GB(3.89 usable) system type:64 bit opperating system, x64-based processor
  20. I happen to be making a movie for my science project on "The Origins of Us". I want to explain the formation of our solar system, how the moon was formed, how asteroids with water ice brought liquid water to earth, etc. However, I don't really know how to convey this information to the audience through a Kerbal movie without a narration (because, you know, narration+kerbal movie = no). So, I kind of needed help with that. Also, i need mission ideas. I have filmed my moon mission, where the astronauts find out that the rock in the moon is similar to the rock on Kerbin. But for the rest, I really don't know. I'mplanning on a mission to Laythe, but again, I don't know how to convey the facts and knowlege to the audience without it being to vague. Also, Kerbal voices. The van is stuck in place and doesn't move, the wheels also do not spin at all. (I attached some thruster to push and try to get it rolling on the wheels). I am only familiar with two current mods and modders who do wheels (There are probably a lot more, but off from the top of my head I cannot think of any). @Angel-125 @RoverDude @Shadowmage ( I think? ) Sorry to tag you guys and drag in - but, the secret knowledge is elusive and I don't think many community members who know this are still around Can I put a powerful bounty here? If somebody helps me learn to do this, I will put out a Lunokhod!

  23. Hello All, Ok, I am very, very new to the forum, mostly lurked and read various threads. Had to start commenting on some very good content however, so needed an account. I have also thought about the Mods out there and especially Kopernicus, I have looked at the various Star Systems available and have been very surprises that something I have not seen available. So I would like to learn how to use Kopernicus to create this Star Systems and once complete share it with everyone. But first I need help, can any who can or are willing point me in the direction of tutorials (on or off the Forum) that will allow be to understand and learn how to use Kopernicus to fulfil my goal. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. I would also update this post with a list of the recommended tutorial as well. [If this is in the wrong place, again any advice would be appreciated]
  24. I have downloaded mechjeb, unzipped it, put in the gamedata folder, ran the fame, but mechjeb did not show up. I saw ksp load mechjeb in the loading screen, but nothing shows up. Just stock ksp. Please help. It would be very helpful.
  25. hi,im looking for help using ksp coordinates. i need to know how to find the coordinates of a place i am not at so i can use the teleporting feature of hyperedit. any help is greatly appreciated
