  1. Hi Everyone, I'm trying to get my RC joystick to work with KSP, but no dice so far. In settings, when I go to assign the axes, it goes unrecognized. Any thoughts on how I can fix this? I'm vaguely attached to the idea of a using this RC joystick because I hope to get my kids used to the control configuration. That way in a couple years when I go buy an RC plane they'll already be familiar with the sticks. Cheers, Keith I'm running KSP on my 2015 MacBook Pro (10.12.5 Sierra).

  3. Game: I want to know if you can rebind the stage lock key (default on windows is alt+L) since it is to close to win + L and I wish to configure it to be on my joystick. Cannot find it in the settings menu, does the option exist?
  4. Joystick I've made for flight sims. Works in KSP also. -Rotary encoder on thumb, for prop pitch, reset by pushing Switch for brakes -Trim sliders for pitch/yaw -Trim potentiometer for roll -Rotary encoder for radiator (outputs an axis reading, resets by pushing) -Rotary encoder for time acceleration Controller is Arduino pro micro. Hot glue is used to fix the part to the throttle. Saviour-tape to dim the Arduino lights. Nothing too special, but looks kinda kerbal.
  5. Long story short: I got an xbox one elite controler I want to use, managed to map all buttons the way I want, but joysticks won't map. How do I map left joystick to pitch/yaw and right joystick to roll? I must be doing something wrong it just seems to me that it doesnt save the mapping
  6. Using 1.2.2. x64, Windows 10. I can set my joystick controls alright, except KSP does not recognize my joystick's rudder and throttle axis. Other axis' are working well (finally!). My joystick controller is Arduino Pro Micro. In other games and in windows control panel joystick settings the axes are working well. I think it's axis 1.2. I found a workaround to set the potentiometer to use axis called "Y-axis" instead of throttle/rudder, but the problem persists, there's two axes that I can't use. My TM HOTAS 4 works perfectly in KSP.
  7. I have been fiddling around with various different configurations and I cannot seem to get KSP to recognize any gyro inputs from my steam controller. Is the gyro supported at all for this game? If so, what broad settings are needed to get the game to accept its input?
  8. Hey all, So I have a logitech G940 HOTAS I have been trying to set up for days now, google searches and forum searches have revealed no answers. When I launch KSP and go into settings, I can assign pitch and roll to my G940 and click accept. I checked the settings.cfg and it saved properly: But I also have this entry in the settings.cfg file: What should be shown under input devices? I can bind the joystick properly in the settings but in game the joystick does nothing according to the pitch/roll/yaw indicators on the HUD.
  9. Here is the situation: I have an old Logitech Wingman Interceptor joystick that has one of them gameport plugs. Unfortunately, gameport sockets went out with my last SB16 card and this laptop running Windows 10 (64) only has USB sockets. So, I am looking for the most reliable, and easiest (if not mutually exclusive) way of hooking this stick up to the laptop. 2 issues I can think of: Physical. I'm assuming that there are adaptors for the job but would like to hear from first hand experience which adaptor to go for, if that is indeed the solution. Drivers and software. The Interceptor was programmable and came with the necessary software. I have absolutely no idea if this software will run at all on a modern computer with a 64 bit OS. I do run DOSBox though for older games and there just might be a possibility that the Interceptor has DOS friendly software. Then the driver issue. I assume the drivers would have to be compatible with Windows 10 64 bit but I have no idea how backward compatible W10 is (knowing Win 8.1 was not backwards compatible at all most of the time). Any insight on how to go about it? Again, the goal is to have a gameport joystick fully working with the programming software that came with it, in a DOS environment as well as a Win 10 environment running Win 95 programs (TIE Fighter 98 from Steam to be exact). Secondary: I also have a Saitek X-52 pro which I also plan to use parallell to the Interceptor. The reason is the Saitek has a throttle unit with all the buttons I need for additional control of an Imperial star fighter. I seem to remember there is freeware that allows me to have multiple physical sticks report to Windows as one virtual one. The name of that software eludes me though so if it rings a bell to you, could you chime in please?
  10. I need some help regarding setting up a joystick. I've set up all the inputs and everything, but I've noticed that when pitching up and down, my planes will pitch up/down for a bit, then stop, even if I'm still pulling the stick back. I've never used a joystick before, so I don't know if this is supposed to happen or not.
  11. Alright, I'm not gonna sugar-coat it. I got a new Joystick[1] for christmas. I'm bored. Send plane designs so I can try to fly them for fun and profit. My current mod list is as follows: http://imgur.com/gpNBKUL [1]Logitech 3D Pro.
  12. Hi, everyone. I just bought a HOTAS joystick/throttle set up, and I'm really enjoying it while I'm learning SSTOs and spaceplanes. However, I'm stuck still using the keyboard for anything but spaceplanes--while planes use pitch and roll as their primary axes in flight and the joystick maps these to left/right and fore/aft stick, rockets use pitch and yaw as their primary axes in flight, and using fore/aft and twisting-of the stick doesn't make for a very ergonomic experience. On orbit, the intuitive "stick left to swing left" movement just initiates a spin around the long axis. Twisting the stick would be perfectly intuitive, however, for rolling a spacecraft. I guess I probably could get used to it, but considering how much of my flight time is spent on orbit vs. in atmosphere, I'd really like to have a way to toggle "swap yaw/roll inputs." Does the "plane mode" mod work for joystick users? ...Side note, does anyone know how the control inputs were mapped for the Space Shuttle on orbit? I've never thought of it until now. Thanks!
  13. Hi, I´ve got KSP on XBOX One (for the kids) and PC (for the big kid ) and now I wonder if there´s any chance to get the XBO controller setting into PC for a XBOX 360 controller to run it. I found out that I like playing KSP on the sofa and the XBO version (I guess it´s still on 1.1.3 or so) works pretty nice even with the gamepad. but the vanilla isn´t fair enough for me. So the idea is using my notebook with the TV, connecting a 360 gamepad to it and find a way to make it work the same way as it works on the XBOX. The user interface is 1:1 the same as it´s for the PC version but unfortunately I can´t configure the gamepad properly. I can´t bind some functions to the buttons and I can´t configure intervals like: Tap X = X ; Hold X = Y. Is there any chance to get such a working XBO (similar) file and make it work? Thnx!
  14. Hi, I am unable to assign second joystick. I have two T.16000M, the first works ok but the second I can't bind axes. When assigning the axis in the popup dialog I can see it detecting the correct one (joy1.1) but when I accept it it just assignes the same axis but from the first joystick (joy0.1). I am able to assign buttons ok though. Dual joystick setup: settings.cfg output_log.txt Dual joystick and Dual gamepad setup: settings.cfg output_log.txt Here I have assigned the second joysticks axis and the second gamepads axis - this I saw in the popup dialog - but it assigned the first joysticks and the first gamepads axis. I also have assigned 1 button from all 4 hardware just so its visible there are 4 different hw. (they all have the correct name - joystickXbuttonY) EDIT: I have added full logs and added another case where this happens. This case can be simulated easily with two identical gamepads as well.
  15. Tried as I might, my joystick is unable to be recognized in KSP. The buttons can be bound, but not the axis. When attempting to bind, It'll say it's there, but dissappear as soon as I click accept, and it will not work in the game. I've deleted the settings.cfg file multiple times, installed the latest logitech drivers and application, even assigned a profile for KSP. If you run the game and look in the settings.cfg it isn't listed as an input device. This joystick works perfectly find in my other games. I've tested with x64 and x86 binaries. I've run up and down these forums and it looks like there's been some issue with Logitech Extreme and Force 3D joysticks. Have these ever been solved?
  16. I have a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and although it is fantastic for KSP, the throttle has never worked on GNU/Linux for me. The throttle only goes up to half way and I think it's because the linux kernel is sending a range of [-Min, +Max] instead of [0, Max]. I've never been able to fix this, and although this isn't the main topic of this post, I'd be interested to know if anybody has successfully got this working (please no suggestions unless you've confirmed that it actually works on GNU/Linux - I've tried pretty much everything you could suggest right down to considering compiling a custom kernel). I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions for a better joystick that they can confirm does work on GNU/Linux and gives the full range of throttle. For example, I'm considering the Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X and a few others, but I won't buy anything unless I know for sure that it works.
  17. I have a old(ish) Saitek ST90 USB Joystick And I'm wondering if I can play ksp with it. And it doesn't work when I try to bind it to ksp. Can anyone help me? BTW I'm on windows. <----- That is what it looks like if you are wondering...
  18. So, I bought the steam controller a few weeks ago, and I've been getting used to it with Rocket League. All is going well, but I would also like to be able to use the controller on KSP, as it does work not only as an actual gamepad, but as kb+m too. I'm aware there's already SC support, and when I turn on the controller, it notifies me in the top right on which mode I'm in (flight, menu, etc...), but it's just not working. Using the controller, it just uses what ever configuration I've set for my desktop controls. Has anyone had this issue? All I want to do is be able to fly planes and rockets with the controller, but I can't even get the game to recognise the analog stick as an input, rather, it just comes up as directional buttons (again, set by my desktop configuration). Does anyone have any clue what's causing this, or how to fix it? I can provide logs or w/e you need.
  19. Hi, after trying the demo version of KSP I decided to buy the full version this weekend (August 6, 2016). All seems fine but I am unable to assign my joystick functions. I can assign some of the buttons but it will not pick up the joystick itself. I have looked for previous solutions to this in the forums but nothing has been of any help. My OS is Windows 10 on a 64-bit machine with a GeForce GTX 960 graphics adapter. My joystick is a Logitech extreme 3-D pro which is still working with other games such as Microsoft FSX, xplane and Elite Horizons. Just in case I uninstalled to ensure the demo version was cleared from the system and reinstalled from scratch and I also ran the patcher to synchronise all files with the server so everything is totally up-to-date. Have I missed something obvious? Has anyone got any suggestions? Julian
  20. I tried to add joystick control inputs for pitch and roll under the main Settings menu and now all my controls are no longer functioning. When I try to load an aircraft or rocket, a warning comes up indicating there are no remote or pilot controls for the vehicle and I can't launch anything. I tried deleting the joystick from the inputs but it did not help. Any idea how to get my controls back and how to properly setup a basic joystick? Eric
  21. Before I go into my issue, here are the specs of my machine and KSP install: And as far as the issue goes: I go into the "Input" settings and set all my joystick controls appropriately, however when I go into a game and try to fly my craft, the throttle (when the throttle is centered out) the game is showing that the ships throttle is maxed out. Then when I push my throttle to max, the ships throttle goes to slightly below 50%, and when I pull the throttle back the ship goes to 100% throttling. Even when I inverse the controls, I am not able to go from 0% - 100% throttle. Does anyone know how to properly configure this joystick without having to inverse the controls, and so it goes from 0% to 100%?
  22. I have this problem, every time i start ksp i have to go in setting and setup all axis, i have already open a bug #9679 and i patiently wait for some solutions, what i'm asking is if anyone that have it working can post settings.cfg file for see if i can hack my settings in a working way. Thanks in advance Regards Luca
  23. Hello, Since I received the 1.1.3 patch I have been unable to use my flight stick. I cannot set the axis bindings. When I click on "throttle axis" etc to set a binding nothing comes up. This is for all axis of any mode (flight, vehicle, etc). I can assign actions to joystick buttons, just not assign axis since no set dialogue appears. I have a Saitek x52 Pro. I had previously been using this joystick with a KSP mod called "advance fly by wire" that eliminated the large of amounts of lag with the joystick that this game has (its a known issue with this game). Since the mod now fails to load after the patch (super bummed about that), I went to set the stock game controls in hopes that the lag would be remove, and discovered this issue. I have removed the mod but the issue still persists. The only errors I saw in the log file that were controller related was this about steam controller (which I'm not using, I don't own one). Thanks
  24. I used to use a 2 joysticks to play a lot last year but now when I load the game the pitch, roll and yaw axis are all going mad and that's when using one stick and no other controllers plugged in. Win7 64, vanilla build. It was doing this before the new build recently. Not sure if it is just me but I really wanna use my sticks again. Can anyone help at all please? Sorry If this has already been discussed but I couldn't find any relevant discussions.
  25. I've been waiting for the 1.1 release, hoping it will fix the bugs with the joystick mapping for Saitek users (or as far as I know, any joystick which uses 2 different USB [throttle and stick, for example]). I was very happy to see the game recogniced joystick0 and joystick1, but when I try to map one of the axis, It always binds it to the joystick0, despite recognising both of them. I made a quick video to show what I'm talking about. Windows 7 64bits that recognise both devices as separated ones. In the config.ini it only recognises one of them: INPUT_DEVICES { Saitek Pro Flight X-55 R. = 0 } But as you can see, when I try to map the axis to my stick, it recognises the joy1.1, but then it binds it to joy0.1 (axis 1 of my throttle). This doesn't look right at all. More information: Button mapping works. It recognises 2 joysticks as joysticks 1 and 2, and they appear like this "joystick1button0" and "joystick2button0" in the config.ini, and works as intended. Thanks for the help
