  1. Kerbal space program has been around for a while and there is still no official online multiplayer? Why? This feature is screaming to be added. For example an online sandbox mode where you can play with friends. Not only would this allow current players to enjoy this great game even more, it would generate the company more money. More people would be asking their friends to buy the game so that they can play online with them. So what is up with this?
  2. I was wondering...How do I get an avatar like Roverdude's? Do I go to a website or what?
  3. The objective of this game is to make a worse joke about KSP than the person before. Rules: No posting twice in a row Your jokes have to be about KSP The jokes also (duh) have to fall within the community rules. I will go first. Q: What did Jeb say to Bill as they were plummeting to their deaths? A: Oh, chute.
  4. Kerbal Mythology: Chapter 3 - The Creatures The Kerbals loved creatures, until they went extinct, here they are: Griphon: The Griphon was apparently a very rare creature, it had two wings an eagle's head and a backside like a lion's. They lived in nests on the tallest trees, called Pandrus. They ate small mammals and reptiles. Their eggs are 7.75in (20cm) in diameter. They were ridden by Kerbals.
  5. Diary of a Kerbal Daily reports from the KSA (Kerbin Space Administration) Day 1: Today at the KSA, we decided we would launch our first rocket straight to orbit. We used the Pyro 1, flown by Jeb, Bill and Bob. The launch was fine until Jeb let out some gas, which caused the rocket to destabilize for a few moments. After that the rocket was stable and they got to an 87 thousand km Ap and 84 thousand Pe. Jeb did all this without manuevers, we told him off, but he didn't even care.
  6. Kerbal Mythology: Chapter 2 - The Alphabet The ancient Kerbals had there own alphabet, and here it is: α - Arti Δ - Durbe γ - Gammya ψ - Siei η - Ethar π - Pyro τ - Taur ι - Ipsil μ - Micrun ν - Nania λ - Lamm φ - Frei Σ - Sona ρ - Roqet ε - Epier Ξ - Χilof θ - Thimo Ω - Zebri Chapter 3 HERE
  7. Kerbal Mythology: Chapter 1 - The Gods There are 17 gods in Kerbal Mythology, and they all lived in a temple atop Mount Himalaeia the tallest mountain in the world, here they are: Kerbollo: Kerbollo is the Kerbal god of light and heat, he wore a crown nearly the size of his head, which in the center, had the Star Gem, he had blonde hair, and his face was half orange (heat), fading into yellow (light). He was the king of the gods. Muh: Muh is the Kerbal god of the underworld (Mogho), he symbolizes death, and wore a horned crown with a skull-shaped gem, called the Gem of Mogho. He had brown hair, and a dark vermilion face. He was banished by Kerbollo. Eva: Eva is the Kerbal goddess of beauty and acid, she wore a small tiara, and a necklace with the Terran symbol of Venus, inside the hole was the Acid Gem. She had light brown hair and a purple face. She had a son, Gili the god of smallness and shrinking. He wore a little crown. Kirbea: Kerbea is the Kerbal goddess of life and space, she wore a crown with the Mountain Gem inside. She had black hair and a green face. She had a daughter, Muna, the goddess of the Mun, and a son, Minimo the god of cold and ice. Dune: Dune is the Kerbal god of war and injuries, he wore a kerbium helmet, that inside had the Blood Gem and had an iron sword, he had brown hair and a red face. He had a son, Ike, the goddess of strength. Cress: Cress is the Kerbal goddess of farming and harvest, she wore a tiara with the Karrot Gem inside. She had blond hair and an orange-green face, and was the lesser-treated of the god/desses. Juele: Juele is the Kerbal god of thunder and lightning, he wore a crown with the Lightning Gem inside, he had brown hair and a dark green face. He had four sons, Laize (water), Tyle (deserts), Bope (invsibility) and Poll (loneliness); and one daughter, Vall (music). Eilu: Eilu is the Kerbal goddess of hatred and selfishness, she wore a crown with the Hate Gem inside, she had black hair and a white face. She was also banished by Kerbollo. Chapter 2 HERE

  11. This story will be based on Real And Fictional craft but Alternate History Events. The Kerbal Space Programs
  12. Year 1, Day 1. 'Studying' I've been studying aerodynamics and physics at the Kerbin University, and I'm going to try to apply for a spot at the Kerbal Space Center. I can just imagine myself taking off, going into space, floating around the cabin for a few minutes, looking at the universe, seeing how tiny everything is. I can imagine being the first Kerbal on the Mun. I can imagine travelling to the big green thing in the night sky, with little things going around it. It's funny, really, how we rotate around Kerbol, the Mun rotates around us, Minmus rotates around the Mun (I think), and then the green thing also rotates around Kerbol, and things rotate around it, and those things have things that rotate around those things an- Year 1, Day 2. 'Studying' I didn't finish what I was writing last night, as I fell asleep. As I was saying, the things that rotate around the big green thing, have things that rotate around them as well. Now my brain's starting to hurt... Year 1. Day 285. 'Studying, but better' I made it! I put my application in at the KSC about a month ago, and after evaluation, it's been accepted! I'm going to the KSC for 'basic training'. I'll have a lot of work ahead of me!
  14. Welcome to Kerbal Mythology, where you shall be taken on a magical journey through time. Chapter I: The Gods The Kerbals believed in many gods after the Religious Revolution in the year -2514, where, for some reason, they suddenly became religious. According to the legends, the gods lived in a temple on top of the massive Mt. Himalæia. Sorry I'm very busy. (on vacation with Jeb )
  15. Here is a place for your most kerbal designs and ideas. Mods, stock, who cares. Happy building!
  16. I happen to be making a movie for my science project on "The Origins of Us". I want to explain the formation of our solar system, how the moon was formed, how asteroids with water ice brought liquid water to earth, etc. However, I don't really know how to convey this information to the audience through a Kerbal movie without a narration (because, you know, narration+kerbal movie = no). So, I kind of needed help with that. Also, i need mission ideas. I have filmed my moon mission, where the astronauts find out that the rock in the moon is similar to the rock on Kerbin. But for the rest, I really don't know. I'mplanning on a mission to Laythe, but again, I don't know how to convey the facts and knowlege to the audience without it being to vague. Also, Kerbal voices. I need help with those too. Thanks UPDATE Just finished my first scene, what do you think? https://drive.google.com/open?id=0ByFj3hLfFCqbLVA1NWFUYlgxSDQ
  17. Hello, fellow Kerbonauts! I happen to be making a Kerbal movie for my science project that my teacher assigned my ECA (extra curricular activity) class. It's based on "The Origins of Us", and I'm focusing on the formation of the solar system, Earth, and how asteroids and other astronomical phenomena enabled life on Earth.. However, I don't have many ideas, and I don't really know how I'm going to inform my audience (class) about the information and facts through such a method. I have filmed my first scene, where the Kerbals fly to the Mun and find that the samples are incredibly similar to those found on Kerbin. However, U don't know about what should happen after that. I'm thinking of a mission to Laythe. But, again, I don't know how to make it informative without it being too vague. So, I need help on ideas. Also, I need Kerbal voices: anyone know how to make those? Thanks!
  18. Himalaya is a family of Kerbonian rockets named after the mountain of kerbal mythology, Himalæia. There are four known rockets, with two of them still being built. Some of them sent kerbals to space, others sent satellites to orbit, and others, well. you got me there. They were designed so that the U.S.K would beat the Koviet Union in the race of the kosmos. Himalaya II: The Himalaya II (KZ-59E) was the first of the Himalaya family to be manufactured. It has thirty parts, a height of 36.2 meters, a weight of 198,540 kg and a diameter of 3.75 meters. It costs 102,010, a TWR of 7.44 (max) and a Δv of 6,288 m/s. The length of the first mission was 1h 16m and 45s, and the crew was Jeb, Bill and Bob Kerman. Himalaya III: The Himalaya III (KZ-63B) is famous for launching the first satellite, GRAVIOLI (GRavity, Atmosphere and SurVey IOn-propelled SatelLIte), and was the second Himalaya manufactured. Information Unknown. Himalaya III-B Keverest: Still in construction. Himalaya IV: Still in construction.
  20. If anyone has watched that Rabbids Invasion series (hey, its actually better than the games), maybe you've had a similar thought to mine. That the Rabbids have a space program that is even more "kerbal" than the actual Kerbals do. Hell, they may even be more kerbal than those warhammer orks (you know, the ones who somehow build interstellar spacecraft out of wood and scrap metal, and basically just crash them wherever they need raw materials to build surface warfare buildings). Typical rabbid designs appear to use things like modified fire extinguishers in place of rocket nozzles. Instead of a runway, one of their launch systems is basically a curved ramp built of 2-by-4s. Anywho, the rabbits apparently have a fascination with the moon. This is actually the focus of a number of episodes. One of the arguably more successful ones being the following. Ignoring the rather cartoony nature of things (including some toon physics, and some nonsense like that weird asteroid belt), it is remarkable just how, well, KERBAL these rabbids are. It kind of makes me wish there were a a Rabbid Space Program mod. Though I suppose there would be some potential licensing issues there... .
  21. I just found this video, it sounds amazing!
  22. Alternate Titles: The Incredible Hull-kerbal, Big Jeb. A slightly more humanoid Kerbal. I was inspired by some picture of cute characters redone to be big epic characters, and I figured I might try my hand at a Kerbal. I kept in some strange Kerbal proportions like extra long arms and the uneven proportion of upper/lower leg bones. I gave him the half-EVA-half-IVA space suit from my old MultiColorSpaceSuits texture replacer pack, so he keeps his orange suit but also has jetpack, EVA-rated boots and gloves, and a control box on the front. It appears that Jeb is disappointed in being changed, maybe he liked being a cute little blob after all.
  23. I have a funny question. What exactly is this Kerbal doing, and what is the thing he's poking at? Is it a strut? Is he afraid of it? Is it because of the weird physics that happen with struts sometimes? I want to understand this! Theories and ideas are welcome, thanks!
  24. As it stands the 3D models for kerbals seem to be hardcoded into the game as many mod developers have said. This is a shame, and there's no real reason why it should be this way. While Kerbals are adorable, and the current model certainly suit the game, there have been numerous mods to make the Kerbal universe more realistic in a lot of ways, but the stock animations and models are a constant reminder that the game isn't really all that realistic. I personally like the universe around Kerbin unrealistic as it, but the mismatch between head shape and helmet shape has bothered me to an incredible extent since i first played the demo. So the fact that the suit and the kerbal heads can never be changed (at least not as easily as adding in new textures) is kindof a bother. I'm also certain that it wouldn't be too drastic a change to make it possible for the game to use a different model, and make the bone and joint system of the kerbals available to modders.
