  1. Welcome to the Kerbal Rescue Challenge! I have a savegame available here with one Kerbal stranded on every planet and moon. Your mission is to rescue as many of them as possible to get a score of up to 14 points (1 per Kerbal). They must be landed safely at Kerbin to count! Many of them have the ship they landed nearby (usually a 3-4 part small lander, generally out of fuel, probably useless except for the Moho ion ship), which you may leave behind or try to use in some way. These do not count against your number of launches. Some rescues will be very easy, some will be VERY difficult, getting the last few points will be very challenging. I'm pretty sure nobody will get a 14 kerbal score on a single launch. Score will be the number of Kerbals you are able to rescue, and in the event of a tie (quite likely as max score is 14) the winner will be the player that used the fewest launches to complete the mission. Time will not be scored, either in game time or IRL time, so post your results as soon as you have rescued a few, and I will update your score as it improves. Please post which Kerbals you have rescued, and how many launches so far. Just for fun, I actually flew the mission to strand all the Kerbals in a single launch (see spoiler tag below) Mods are allowed, but will be noted next to your score. All scores will be on the same board, with a special note for stock entries. To qualify as a stock entry, only informational and visual mods are permitted. KIS in particular would be a fun mod to tackle this with, and a cool way to use existing lander parts to help. No HyperEdit or debug menu etc is permitted. Feel free to use ISRU, bases, refueling ships, whatever you like, just track total number of launches. Scoreboard: 1) 2) 3) 4) I'll be posting my rescues soon, and there will be a badge for competing, and a special badge for saving all 14 Kerbals.
  2. K.P.F. The Kerbal Powered Flight Challenge To beat the Kerbal Powered Flight Challenge, you must have a machine using the ladder glitch with Kerbals that can propel itself to high speeds, there will be winners for multiple different things such as speed, distance, sustainable altitude, etc. F.A.Q -What is the ladder glitch? The ladder glitch, is a glitch that occurs if a Kerbal is climbing a ladder, and something is blocking him from above where he's climbing, he will then push the vehicle causing acceleration without the use of fuel of any kind, therefore breaking the laws of physics, or KSP in this case. Rules: -No cheats -No hyperedit -Stock parts only -No mods that add new parts, change flight mechanics, or mass / weight of the vehicle -One kerbal per craft -SAS must only be used to keep the vehicle level whilst the Kerbal powers the vehicle forward -Must include pictures of the craft -No external form of acceleration other than the Kerbal -Probe cores, and batteries + solar panels will be allowed to aim the vehicle in the specified direction, but the kerbal must accelerate the vehicle only. Categories: Speed Record (highest achieved speed, including dives) Land Speed Record (highest speed over land, screenshot with navball showing): Sea Speed Record (highest speed over water, screenshot with navball showing): Air Speed Record (highest speed over land in F3 settings, and in atmosphere, with screenshots): 1.) He_162 with 2,055 m/s at 47,000m Speed Record (In Space): (Highest speed achievable whilst in space) 1.) He_162 with 2,257 m/s Altitude Record (highest altitude you can fly continuously) Kerbin: Duna: Eve: Laythe: Jool?: Distance record (total distance traveled) Air: 1.) He_162 with 1,568,923m Longest Manned Flight: (No timewarp allowed for this, and must have proof that it took that long, I.E. lots of screenshots, or a video) Kerbol Challenge: Fly a kerbal powered vehicle, and land on every planet (that has a surface) with only one launch, one kerbal, and there will be multiple difficulties: Easy: -(No extra rules) Winners: Hard: -No SAS, One solar panel Winners: BADGE OF COMPLETION: EXAMPLE OF CRAFT:
  3. So, I was looking for the four Kerbals (Bill,Val,Bob,Jeb) when the mysteriously were K.I.A. I am hoping to access the files to bring them back to lie, but I can't find them.
  4. KERBOSAMAZING????!!!, Ok ok my first FORUM GAME!!!!! it is who killed the most kerbals OR who can survive a Kerbal crash from 10 km! Yep its STUPID but Fun and who does not like THAT! The minimum of kerbal killings is 100 PS You notice i am writing in red well because kerbals have BLOOD!
  5. I have some problem with game control. When I output my crew outside of the spaceship, I can control only the last kerbal, and I can't do any manipulation with another. So, I must to return into "Space Center", and choose another kerbal in "Tracking Station". Is there another ways?
  6. Has anyone else realized that female Kerbals don't have tongues? Just a question.
  7. Thought i'd make a custom kerbals thread. Here are some of mine. KERBAL { name = Shelby Kerman gender = Female type = Crew brave = 0.55 dumb = 0.2 badS = True tour = False state = Available ToD = 0 idx = -1 CAREER_LOG { flight = 0 } FLIGHT_LOG { flight = 0 } KERBAL { name = Meridian Kerman gender = Female type = Crew brave = 0.72 dumb = 0.55 badS = False tour = False state = Available ToD = 0 idx = -1 CAREER_LOG { flight = 0 } FLIGHT_LOG { flight = 0 } KERBAL { name = Danny Kerman gender = Male type = Crew brave = 0.55 dumb = 0.64 badS = False tour = False state = Available ToD = 0 idx = -1 CAREER_LOG { flight = 0 } FLIGHT_LOG { flight = 0 } KERBAL { name = Horatio Kerman gender = Male type = Crew brave = 0.58 dumb = 0.5 badS = True tour = False state = Available ToD = 0 idx = -1 CAREER_LOG { flight = 0 } FLIGHT_LOG { flight = 0 } KERBAL { name = Shona Kerman gender = Female type = Crew brave = 0.21 dumb = 0.7 badS = False tour = False state = Available ToD = 0 idx = -1 CAREER_LOG { flight = 0 } FLIGHT_LOG { flight = 0 } KERBAL { name = Kepsey Kerman gender = Female type = Crew brave = 0.88 dumb = 0.4 badS = False tour = False state = Available ToD = 0 idx = -1 CAREER_LOG { flight = 0 } FLIGHT_LOG { flight = 0 } Oh, and just because, Kirrim Kerman from "Kirrim on Duty" the one where he was revived KERBAL { name = Kirrim Kerman gender = Male type = Crew brave = 0.4598612 dumb = 0.2352904 badS = False tour = False state = Available ToD = 0 idx = -1 CAREER_LOG { flight = 0 } FLIGHT_LOG { flight = 0 } Hope you like them!
  8. Sure! We all killed kerbals at least once (and maybe intentionally). But this is way more than that 1 kerbal that died from lack of heatshield, or 5 who died from trying to land on the Sun. This requires "Massive Death". And you are the designer and tester of the machine that has to kill as much as possible. So let's break down the rules here. Rules of Death 1. No ALT+F12 unless necessary (also no config edits) 2. Use any mod (no Hyperedit, warp drive mods) possible in killing kerbals 3. Your device can be anything. Tsar Bomba, Christmas Tree, whatever! 4. 10 kerbals minimum on ANY craft 5. You can kill them in any way. Sun, Nukes, tanks. 6. Fun required 7. Astronuat Complex is allowed to be destroyed but the device MUST be stock, and under 50k Oh where's YOUR attempt HoloYolo?! http://imgur.com/a/vaxqd Have fun guys. Yeah I might've went too far but than again it's just pixels in a game. Score is by cost of killing device/weapon 1. Dfthu "Unknown Missle Launcher" 47,632V 2. HoloYolo "The Massive Death" 271,300V 3. McFarnsworth "KerbalKill 3000!" 522,430V
