  1. HI there all - I started up a new KSP game with the following mods. https://imgur.com/a/M6Z3V I am also a KSP streamer and have had a couple of pretty knowledgeable peeps from the community pop in and observe this and thought that the best course of action would be to start here and see what might be able to be done. The "role playing" part of this was that someone on Kerbin got a new telescope and saw something, they pass that information along to the KSC and they discovered something beyond the known galaxy. [Enter Galileo Planet Pack aka secondary] Apparently there is a known issue and that nothing can be done that at times, solar panels will attempt to track towards GPP's star vs Kerbol, not that I have Fuel Cells, not really a big problem. Last night I had problems with a ore drill rig. It setup correctly, there was no loss of power, no overheating and ore was being dug up just fine. When I would switch away from it [outside of rendering range] and come back to it as the active craft, the drills were animating, but not digging. I would have to stop and start them again and then all would be good, until again I would swap away and then swap back. I have tried this with 2 different setups and the end result is the same. I would be more than happy to supply anything and everything to help find the problem. Keep in mind, I have successfully setup drill sites using MKS and stock , but this is my first time using Kopernicus and Galileo Planet Pack
  2. DOWNLOAD THE MOD HERE: Welcome to the development thread for [After Kerbin]. This planet mod is set many billions of years after stock KSP. Kerbol (now called Archangel) is midway through its fast journey to becoming a red giant. It has just consumed Moho. Eve is burning, and Kerbin is deserted. You begin your journey on Duna, around a warmer Sun. Begin on a tidally locked, colonised Duna, far into the future. This planet, known as Solitude, is the Kerbals' last hope. This is Kerbin. Four billion years has purged its surface of the space-faring civilisation. FAQ: Will this planet mod add any new stars? No. This is the Kerbol system billions of years in the future. Adding a new star means you will need modded parts to get there, which I generally disagree with. It also means separating planets and sentencing them to "will not be visited". I want to make sure all planets are easily reachable but also require a challenge once there. Is this planet mod compatible with present day mods like OPM? Yep! Even the visual mods will work together (they didn't with my previous planet mod), meaning you can install nearly any planet mod except those that also replace the home planet. How much RAM do I need for this mod? 5GB at maximum texture quality. The reason why the RAM requirement is no lower is because the planets use highly detailed, 4k textures for the best experience. Still waiting on a release? Click the follow button in the top right of this page, or join the planet mod discord!
  3. Here it is: The OweeBooBoo Run The OweeBooBoo Run is a race! The OweeBooBoo run is a custom contract that gets offered in a career game after you have acheived orbit around Kersex (a Kerbin-like moon orbiting the gas giant Kronkus). You need the mods (Kopernicus, and Kronkus planet pack) for the planet, and (Contract Configurater, and FarOut contract pack) so that the custom contract will show up. It entails you flying to a checkpoint high in the mountains on Kersex, a timer starts, and then you fly as quickly as possible to another checkpoint located at the end of a huge canyon by the beach and complete the OweeBooBoo run contract. Fastest time Wins! To enter: Fly the OweeBooBoo Run custom contract in less than 5 minutes, and post a screenshot (or video) showing the time on the completed contract. Fastest time wins! Winners get a spot on the leader-board! (and fortune and glory) Hard Mode 1st: (none yet) 1st: MrChumley time-- 1m25.440s 2nd: (none yet) 3rd: (none yet) RULES Required Mods: Kopernicus ZIP (makes adding custom planets possible) Thanks @Thomas P. Module Manager (bundled with Kopernicus) Thanks @sarbian Contract Configurator ZIP (makes adding custom contracts possible) Thanks @nightingale Kronkus Planet Pack ZIP (adds a ringed gas giant with 4 moons, and a moon for Dres) FarOut Contract Pack ZIP (adds several custom contracts, also adds Kerbal Konstructs bases when used in conjunction with Kerbal Konstructs)) Optional: Asclepius ZIP (Adds Asclepius the planet with sand, oxygen, and canyons, and it's lonely moon Kruel) Kerbal Konstructs ZIP (add for bases on Kersex that you can launch stuff from) Thanks @Ger_space Kerbin-Side continued ZIP (adds additional buildings for use with Kerbal Konstructs) Thanks @AlphaAsh @Ger_space Waypoint Manager ZIP (add this to make waypoints visible in flight mode) Thanks @nightingale Other mods will be allowed. Please indicate what mods that you are using that have a direct effect on your time. I reserve the right to disqualify you from the leader-board in the rare case you use a mod I deem too "cheaty". Most part mods are ok... Even if they have insane thrust. Just ask if you are unsure. Hyper-edit, (and ALT-12 cheats) are allowed to position your craft for a run, and to orbit the planet initially, etc., but can not be used after the first checkpoint is reached. The craft you begin the OweeBooBoo run in should be the same craft that you finish in. Hard mode: Only 1 engine allowed. Please include craft in screenshot. (extra fortune and glory) Note: The Contract requires that you Orbit Kersex before the contract is offered. FarOut will only offer 3 total contracts at a time, and The OweeBooBoo Run can only be completed once (remember to F5!). Sometimes the OweeBooBoo contract refuses to show up even after repeatedly declining other FarOut contracts. You just have to be patient and check back after warping a few days. I had a lot of fun making and testing this particular contract. I think you will enjoy it too. Example entry screenshot: I understand that few players are willing to set up an entire new set of mods just to do one challenge. Part of what I am trying to do here is to generate some interest in mods that I am involved in, and to show off some creations that I have poured my heart and soul into for YEARS. There is more than one custom contract included. All my planets have custom science. Images have been compressed into .dds format for memory savings. You would not imagine the maths it took to get some of the orbital parameters (1:2:4:8 resonance of Kronkian moons, and a moon for Dres that is tidally locked to the sun). If you install this set of mods, it will open up a whole new avenue of career progression in game. Also- If there is a modder out there proficient in getting Scatterer to work on a new planet, and would be kind enough to consider contributing, your efforts would be most welcome. Tickets are free, there are a few mods to download, and you must provide your own ride. Good Luck!
  4. Hello guys. I am working on a new mod that adds in a temperate gas-giant. The mod deletes Duna, but makes up for the loss of the planet with a gas-giant and four moons! I will release the mod soon. Currently, I have not added in Biomes or Science Defs, so the mod is complete if you cheat and play in sandbox mode. However, I need to finish painting up biome maps and making at least some custom science defs before I release the mod to the community. I appreciate your patience. Here are some shots of the planets: Bervin: Alru: Goval: Unox: Some shots of Cavran: Oh yeah, it has been out for a while, just forgot to post it here. https://kerbal.curseforge.com/projects/ksp-cavran-planet-pack
  5. This system is a work in progress. When I first began this star system, it began with an idea to make it Mayan. And as you can tell from the date of the original OP and to now, that's what the system's names for the star and planets consisted of. But along the way to now, I felt that it would be better to repackage it and give everything names that sound a bit more Kerbal. This project began as an attempt to teach myself how to create a planet pack. But I also wanted to do something neat with it to make it different. One of the television shows of the late 1970s and early 1980s that led to my fascination with astronomy was the show Cosmos with Dr. Carl Sagan. One particular episode was about the life cycles of stars - and how as a star dies, one of two things could happen - the star could go supernova OR the star could expand, shed its photosphere, then collapse back on its core and form a white dwarf. This project picks up the stellar saga after the ejection of the photosphere. Hioffpo was believed once to be a yellow star, much like Kerbol. As it aged, it became a red super giant, consuming the inner four rocky worlds. Its photosphere collapsed and parts of it was ejected into space in an orbit around the newly emerging blue-white dwarf (an intermediate stage before becoming a white dwarf). Some of the ejected solar matter coalesced into a tidally locked small rocky world (the above image). Remaining matter didn't form a planet but is rumored to have formed a series of rings intermingled with a few moderately sized asteroids. Current mod development progress and release notes 0.1 27/08/2017 Initial release. Nohochacyum only 0.1.1 03/09/2017 Added various light curves. 0.1.2 01/06/2022 Revived and initial re-release of the mod with assistance of @AtomicTech. Star and planet names changed to be more "Kerbal" sounding. New planets added. To Install: Copy the entire folder (adsii1970/Hioffpo) into your GameData folder. Do not remove any folder contents or rename the folders. Use with caution. Plans for this mod pack: Thanks to co-contributors to this mod: @AtomicTech Special thanks to the following forum members for their advice and encouragement: @SamBelanger - providing tutorial videos that helped me get this mod started. @AndrewDrawsPrettyPictures - allowing me to dissect his ExtraSolar mod and understanding what works under the hood, so to speak. @JadeOfMaar - Providing ongoing answers to my never-ending questions about modding in KSP. @JustJim - being a good friend, allowing me to bounce frustrations, ideas, and everything else towards him. @OhioBob - being paitent with me and actually redoing my messed up calculations dealing with my light curve issues.
  6. I KNOW ABOUT KOPERNICUS! THOSE WHO POINT IT OUT SHALL FACE THE UNDYING FURY OF MY NEIGHBOR'S CAT! *Ahem* Now that that's out of the way, let's talk about this undying question, recommendation, or whatever you want to call it - Planet Eight. It's been quite a while since we've gotten a new world to explore in stock KSP, and I'm starting to wonder if we ever will again. I just want a new, fun destination to go to, explore, and build bases on. Maybe a Kerbin-like world in the outer solar system littered with mountains and valleys and kraters filled with water, and even the beginnings of surface life! Not quite like Laythe or Eve, but something more friendly. Of course, being in the outer solar system would mean the planet doesn't get a whole lot of light, so maybe it could have a highly eccentric orbit (tidal heating) around Eeloo or another completely-new world. Maybe the life isn't entirely new, but it's just recovering after a massive object collided with it millions of years ago, ripping a long gash in the surface and carrying some particularly resilient microbes to Kerbin and Duna? Perhaps the origin of the Kraken? I'm going a little too deep in speculation, but we're lacking this kind of world in stock KSP, and I personally think it would make a pretty nice addition to the game
  7. Happy Eclipse Day!!!!! I spent the last month working on a planet-pack mod, and I figured that today would be a good time to release it. This planet pack removes all planets and moons expect for Minmus, The Mun, and Kerbin. It replaces the stock system with 2 Gas-Giants and 4 terrestrial planets. This mod also spawns in asteroids to mimic the asteroid belt, NEO's, and debris orbiting within the ocean moon Uulmo. The various planets were named after characters from J. R. R. Tolkien's Lord Of The Rings and The Silmarillion. As a reminder, this mod requires Kopernicus. Use the version of Kopernicus for your version of KSP Download Eru Planet Pack here: https://kerbal.curseforge.com/projects/eru-planet-pack The planets in this mod are : Melkor and its moon Sauron Aule and its moon Durin Lorien and its moon Celeborn Uulmo and its moons Numenor and Imrahill Tulkas and its asteroid moon Theoden Manwe and its moons Thranduil, Fangorn, and Varda Valinor and its moons Elros, Feanor, and Maia. Here are some pictures of planets in the mod:
  8. Help! I would like to make a Stock System replacement mod, but I don't know how to delete stock system. I would also like to make planets, but when I tried, It wasn't there. How do you make textures for planets? And how do you make asteroids? Thanks!
  9. I used to make star systems for ksp when planet factory was still a thing but now that kopernicus is here, i have no idea how to use it, I've tried many times to make a planet and nothing works so i decided to make this post to ask for help. sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, i'm new to ksp forums.
  10. Sentry AKA: Kerbol Mysteries Revision 3 Next Release: Cancelled This WAS the third attempt at creating the Kerbal Mysteries Mod, now it's an attempt at creating a "single planet with many moons mod". Rather than having it ready for download from the start (probably with bugs and other nasty stuff) I've decided to keep it from the public... Or at least until It has reached some kind of standard. The aim of this mod is to add some new worlds to the game while at the same time keep the size relatively small so low-end PC users can enjoy this mod without their computer experiencing unplanned disassembly. So far, there is only the obligatory blue second gas giant but don't fret for there will be more worlds to explore in the future. Interested in this mod? Consider following this thread for updates! Within this spoiler is information about the bodies added in this mod. With Thanks To: @Thomas P. for developing Kopernicus (along with his team). @Gameslinx for Sentry's texture and giving advice. @Cabbink for Conagher's heightmap (I hope I tagged the right person). @TheWanderer05 for their advice. @The White Guardian for their Kopernicus tutorials. EDIT 23/06/2019: Due to a plethora of things, including the death of a hard drive (and the only copy of the mod), I'm no longer able to continue development on this mod, nor will I be able to put it up for adoption. If I figure out a way to recover some of my work, I may start a new project with it but for now it's looking unlikely. EDIT: 17/12/2020: There is a chance that I have an old copy of the mod on an even older laptop. If I'm able to find it as well as the time (which I have plenty of), I may revitalize this project once more.
  11. Celebrating 2 years of Other Worlds! The original developer of the mod, Pkmniako, has decided to pick it up again. If you would like it in another language that English, French or Russian, please tell me, or volunteer. No volunteering anyone other than yourself. A Small Planet Pack. It only contains Iontopia, a minmus like object orbiting Kerbin at 35 Mm. It is very rich in a strange new substance called Zenon, which can be relatively easily refined into Gaseous Xenon, provided your ISRU software is up-to-date. It is VERY flat, which combined with the Zenon Reserves, makes it a Great target for Ion-related activities.(Hence the name) You must download Kopernicus and it's dependencies for this to work. It can be found here: If you are using KSP 1.2.2, use Kopernicus 1.2.2-9, instead of 1.3.0-4. 13. OUTERSPACE So what is Outer Space? Outer Space is my first Kopernicus planet pack, aiming to bring more challenge in the game. Nothing much at the moment. !WARNING! This mod is in it's early stages, bugs occur! If you experience weird glitches, PM me and i will try to fix it. When is this updated? Updates will happen, but sometimes things can block development time. I can't really tell. Who is in charge of this? @GenesisPlayz (Myself) The lead developer. I'm doing all the coding and stuff. @ModerndayLink Giving me tips in the beginnng and helping me out when i got confused. @SamBelanger For making the textures, i like them and it saves me alot of time (I'm a terrible artist when it comes to rocky plernerts). 14. So I've tried to build some big craft to explore Eeloo and stuff, and once I did, I was happy to explore the whole system. but it wasn't enough So I downloaded To Boldly Go, which requires Kopernicus. And once I downloaded Kopernicus, I booted up the game, and made a new save file. But I'm stuck on the loading screen! The planets keep orbiting the Sun! It was fine before this. What can I do? P.S no crash logs, it didn't crash
  15. Props to: @EricL For assistance with normal maps. @The White Guardian For teaching me how to make planets, gas giants etc. via his YouTube tutorials. @Thomas P. For making Kopernicus and maintaining it's status. And everyone else who shows support for this mod! Anyways... Hello, this is the development forum for my first planet pack called Gene's Star (A not-so-obvious ripoff of Barnard's Star), So included in this pack are: Gene's Star: The star that is the center of the whole pack Vulkan: A gas giant quite close to the star which carries the risk of high heat, you can get quite a bit of science from just a fly-by and has one moon. Hestia: A tiny fiery asteroid not too far from Vulkan. Himos: Despite It's vicinity to Gene's Star, it has a comfortable temperature and it has one moon. Amirani: the small, oblate moon of Himos. Zeus: The largest planet in the pack, it comes third after Himos and doesn't have any moons. Vylo: A giant singular rocky planet that has witnessed some stuff in the past, meaning some good science. Agustin: I would personally call this one of the main planets in the pack, it has four moons with varying terrain and a thin atmosphere. Iturbide: A small desert moon. Martinez: Another desert moon. Barcena: Fair-sized moon, Minmus copy. Yanez: The furthest of the quartet, It has plenty of space to establish a station or colony. Duenus: This has the second-most moons (5 moons) in the pack and decent science scores, has a strange pink atmosphere. Arbyl: The first moon in the system, has decent views of the whole system. Tota: The largest moon in this system, being the same size as The Mun. Ubfer: The farthest of the big three, even better views. DU-10: An asteroid moon that goes close and far out over and over. (hedgehog is intentional) Fchillo: The furthest of all the moons, orbits just in Duenus' SOI. Cylar: The Dwarf planet filling the void between Duenus and Haglade, has two moons and blue ice. Mu: Small-ish moon. Nyth: same as Mu. Haglade: This would also be one of the main planets, with seven moons. Yup, you saw that right. Meaning that this has the most moons out of all of them. Mettaris: a moon within Haglade's Rings. Pele: The first one of the Big Quartet, it is a strangely warm moon, getting up to 43°C, maybe it has something to do with Haglade? Vulo: The second and smallest of the Big Quartet, It has some surface ice. Titania: The largest moon in the whole system, over-sizing Cylar and Himos and about 2/3 the size of Kerbin, has a respectable atmosphere of 24km. Buriz: The last of the Big Quartet, it has the best views of the Big Quartet. Hemi: The asteroid moon orbiting between Buriz and Nusku. Nusku: Same situation as Fchillo, except it's the second largest moon in the whole system. Iceos: The final frontier of the system, it's so uninteresting that isn't worth mentioning (like Alaska). Progress chart: Not working on ATM Developing Almost done Just need to iron out bugs Ready for Release ---------------------------------------- Gene's Star Vulkan Hestia Himos Amirani Zeus Vylo Agustin Iturbide Martinez Barcena Yanez Duenus Arbyl Tota Ubfer DU-10 Fchillo Cylar Mu Nyth Haglade Mettaris Pele Vulo Titania Buriz Hemi Nusku Iceos Bugs: Terrain is known to be glitchy (is known and will be fixed soon enough.) ...

  17. Hello You may remember me from the development of the Heidon Mod, which added in 3 gas giants and many moons. Now, my team of modders will begin working on a new planetary system that will completely replace the stock KSP system with a variety of worlds. I have just begun work on the mod, and have no pics to share at the current time. Please leave any comments if you have any suggestions; we will gladly listen to your ideas, and they may even be implemented into the mod. - UranianBLue
  18. So, for the mod I am making, I am trying to make a 2 stars, but I have noticed that it uses a lot of textures compared to planets, does anyone know how to make each of those textures?

  20. Realistic(ish) Stock Planet Overhaul THIS MOD IS DEAD! Version 0.2.0 So I kind of got bored of creating exoplanets for RSS so I've decided to create a completely different planet pack that does something I've never done before, replace the stock solar system! This is a very work-in-progress mod, so the planets and moons are very limited. This is simply a thread to discuss what types of planets and other features that will be in this mod. If you've created a handy patch for my Pretty Planets that does this, that, or the other, send it over to me or put it on GitHub and I'll implement into the mod and put you in the credits once I actually release this thing. Here are some screenshots to show how development is going so far: KAIA, THE NEW KERBAL HOMEOWORLD: REYN, AN EXOTIC HELIUM GAS GIANT: YUNNA, AN ARID DESERT WORLD: MORE SCREENSHOTS Get it on GitHub or SpaceDock
  21. There used to be a ton of mods that replaced Kerbol with a black hole and added a ton of extra star systems but I can't find any that work with 1.3. Are there any such mods?
  22. I'm trying to fix biomes in GregroxMun's Alien Space Programs, which was made for 1.0.5 but biomes don't work in 1.2 or 1.3. I discovered that the colour values that Kopernicus biomes use just needed to be changed to match the KSP 1.2 biome map colours. I suspect these colours were changed to match the new KerbNet biome maps. Here's the changes I've done so far to Eve, but I'm missing two biomes yet. I got the colour values from the ScanSat image posted to the KSP Wiki for Eve. Two biomes (craters and atasuki lake or however that's spelled) are missing as they seemed too close a match to other biome colours, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. Is there a better colour map somewhere I can look at? [21 JUN 2017] Found it here: https://github.com/Kopernicus/kittopia-dumps, which is a copy of the stock system dumped into Kopernicus-compatible config files. It contained the full biome map for Eve and others.
  23. EXOMOONS! WHAT IS THIS? Exomoons! is an expansion to the RSS Constellations mod. It adds fictional exomoons to some of the planets in the RSS Constellations planet pack. This provides new ways of exploring the far reaches of the Universe, allowing gas planets to be more interesting to visit then they originally were. At the moment, there are only three exomoons distributed among two exoplanets, though in the future, many more planets will receive their own exomoons.
