  1. guys, do you know active BDArmory servers? (Luna Multiplayer)
  2. Lunokhod 1 For the anniversary of the launch of Luna 17 I present to you: stock replicas of Lunokhod 1 and Luna 17! Built at 75% scale to fit on my Proton K/D (included below). It took a lot of fiddling to get the stock hinges working and they're a bit of an eyesore but I still think it turned out well enough. Also, it took a lot of reading to get some of the details right so I hope you don't mind if I regale you with my newfound knowledge. Lunokhod 1 was a Soviet lunar rover launched on November 10, 1970. It was carried to the Moon by the Luna 17 lander, which was launched atop a Proton rocket. On November 17 Luna 17 touched down on the Moon and released onto the surface Lunokhod 1, which became the first roving vehicle to land on another world. The Lunokhod Program The Rover The Lander Moon Walker Built in stock KSP v.1.8.1, no DLC required Updated for 1.9.0 ↓ ↓Download here↓ ↓ rover + lander only (257 parts): https://www.dropbox.com/s/z20y3l1xtksrmln/Lunokhod 1.craft?dl=0 launch configuration atop Proton rocket (835 parts): https://kerbalx.com/tehmattguy/Lunokhod-1 Controls Lander RCS/ vernier systems are toggled off by default- press 4 to toggle attitude vernier control and press 5 to toggle landing vernier control. For the Proton, stage timings are written in the description.
  3. Hello, I am playing KSP 1.6.1 with RO and a bunch of other mods, however I am struggling to replicate the Luna missions. I am using the pre-made "RN Stock Luna 2" craft (from the Soviet Probes and Soviet Rockets mods by Raidernick), the craft has plenty of Dv, but I am still unable to reach/impact the moon. Correct me if I am wrong, but here is my understanding of how the real mission went: 1. Launched from Baikonur 2. Reached an altitude of about 200-300km (could not find an accurate number), before the main engine of the second stage ran out of fuel 3. Removed the fairing 4. Decoupled the upper stage, and lit it's vernier engines 5. At the right time it lit the upper stage's main engine as well (the RD-0105) 6. When the impact orbit was reached (or in the case of Luna 1, slightly after) the engines shut down. 7. Decoupled the probe 8. Impacted/flew close by the Moon Here is what I am doing in KSP RO using the RN Stock Luna 2 craft: 1. Set the Moon as target 2. Wait until the inclination of the orbit is as close as possible to the one of the Moon (around 17.5 degrees, according to Mechjeb's Rendezvous Planner) and the moon is in a proper position (not too far behind or in front of what would become my transfer orbit trajectory) 3. Launch 4. Reach about 200-300 km, decouple, light verniers, etc. 5. Use Mechjeb's Maneuver Planner to create a node automatically 5.1. Select "bi-impulsive (Hohmann) transfer to target" 5.2. Select "intercept only, no capture burn (impact/flyby)" 5.3. Select "create node at next apoapsis", because otherwise it creates a node after one orbit has passed, and the craft is not in orbit 5.4. Click "create node" 6. Align the upper stage with the node, wait untill the required burn time is split 50/50 before and after the node. 7. light the main engine, burn until fuel runs out. The craft itself (according to Mechjeb's Dv stats has 13176 m/s of Dv. However no matter what I do I still fall short by at least 1000 m/s of Dv on the upper stage. I tried warping back and forward before launching to change the position of the Moon in it's orbit, tried playing with the inclination and initial altitude, but no luck. What am I doing wrong, why am I unable to reach the Moon? I tried looking for a tutorial/info about this mission and it's mission profile, but I was unable to find anything detailed.
  4. Licence: MIT (you don't need to ask me for permission if you want to make a fork ) Description: Around March-2016 I started LMP as a refactoring over DMP but it finally evolved to a totally different program and different code architecture, this means that the code is totally different although it still uses some ideas from DMP like the concept of subspaces. Nevertheless, this mod wouldn't exist if it wasn't for @godarklight's job as he made a solid base and a good example of where to start. If you want to support this project, consider donating trough paypal As the mod is still in beta it might has some bugs so if you want to report a issue, please do so on github If you want to collaborate testing new versions or help us in development join us in the discord chat Main features: Clean and optimized code architecture, based on systems and windows which makes it easier to read and modify. Multi threaded (as much as Unity allows) Settings saved as XML. Time synced between clients and the server using the NTP protocol. UDP networking using the Lidgren library for reliable UDP message handling. Uses interpolation so the vessels shouldn't jump from one place to another. Nat-punchtrough feature so a server doesn't need to open ports on it's router. Servers are displayed within the mod. Better creation of network messages so they are easier to modify. Every network message is cached in order to reduce the garbage collector spikes Based on tasks instead of threads. QuickLZ for fast compression Supports science and career modes UPnP support for the server. 5. I have just stumbled upon the Soviet Rockets mod made by raidernick (great mod btw, you should totally install it), and everything appeared to be fine with the mod. But when i opened a sandbox where i wanted to experiment with my new rocket parts, and my Proton, Zenit and Dnepr rockets were 100% complete no trouble at all. But When looking at my R-7 parts, i saw that only parts for the soyuz showed up, not for Sputnik, Luna, Vostok and Voshkod. I thought i made a mistake and decided to remove and reinstall the mod, and again, the same thing. So i did it again and again and again... but nothing seemed to work. I saw the parts loading while starting KSP, but they dont show up in the parts list. Does anyone know how to fix this?
