  1. When I try to load Kerbal with Tundra exploration installed, B9 part switch says ‘fatal error’. Have I installed the mod wrong? Can someone show a picture of what it’s supposed to look like?
  2. so every time i start the game it gives me this error message. this happens every time. all i did was add the station parts expansion redux mod (incudes the mod itself, module manager and near future props, and b9partswitch, i tried replacing the folder i already had with the one that came with the rar file but it still didn't work)this is everything in my folder. can you guys help me? this is on 1.9.1
  3. Hi there fellow Space Explorers! Recently I wanted to boost the looks in my KSP 1.11 install as many do. I already tried to follow the guides for things like EVE, Stock Visual Ench.. and scatter. However there must be something I am either doing wrong or is wrong with my installation (btw, uninstall and re-installed yesteday the game). So at the moment I find myself with just scatter as visual mod, I read the page for the mod and tryed to change a couple of parameters but still the planets with atmosphere look nothing alike the ones i see on YouTube...   5. I'm @Kerminator K-100 and I am addicted to mods. KSP has an amazing community of modders who are all brilliant and never fail to come out with amazing mods. And the mods are all free! Last time I checked CKAN had about 3000 mods total and there are more on the forums, github, spacedock, and curseforge. But when I see a mod that looks cool, I instantly download it. But the mods do have a price. Cluttered part lists, ridiculous loadtimes, paralyzing amounts of options and features to keep track of. And also when an update comes out, I can either remove all mods and risk the kraken's wrath or update and pray, and risk the kraken's wrath. I've found that there are cycles to modding my game. When a new update comes out, I trim my list to a few essential mods. But as more are updated my list balloons again, increasing loading times to unbearable amounts. So I've come up with a simple questionnaire for you to ask yourself next time you see that amazing new mod that will solve every problem, or if you want to trim your mod list and can't decide what to get rid of. How often do I complain about this problem? For example a part mod: Do you find yourself saying randomly, if only I had a Starship replica to go to Jool, it would make life so much simpler. How often do you actually do what the mod is supposed to fix? Mech-Jeb is one of my essential mods because I use it to auto-dock. I rendezvous and dock all the time so to me Mech-Jeb is worth it. If you do decide to install the mod, ask yourself, how often do I use this mod? It will vary for each person but you need to set a benchmark for how frequently you need to use a mod, or else its just deadweight. For example I used KIS twice when I first got it. Once to fix a broken spaceship, and once to build a space station. The rest of the time it just sat in my Game Data folder, taking up RAM. So I removed it. However when I started wishing that I could build ships and rovers, I decided to reinstall it. I hope this guide helps you cure your mod addiction and saves your computer from being choked with mods. Please note this is not an attack on modders, you guys are amazing! If you want please comment how many mods you usually play with or just your tips on how to cut back on excessive modding.
  6. Hi folks. New to the Forum, hello all! I've been trying for no good reason other than shiggles to get a Starlink type constellation in orbit. Mechjeb2 helps me with the launch timing, orbital plane etc, but I'm having a lot of trouble with distributing each satellite throughout that orbital plane. I start with a launch that's circularized 20km low and then dispense the satellites one by one and orbit raise to 350 as it gets close to the correct location for each bird. Anyway, the point is that keeping a large constellation aligned requires a lot of management - tweaks to apo and peri to keep separation and to plane to etc - can anyone suggest mods that might help? I've been looking for a 'ground control mod' that could extend the tracking screen but no joy so far so it's manually switch to each satellite at the moment :-) Image attached with the 'net for one plane of approx 32 birds. I'm trying for 15 minute separation of planes - it's a lot of birds in the air!
  7. My Environmental Visual Enhancements mod does not seem to have an effect on the visual display of Kerbin or any other planets otherwise affected by EVE. All of my visual mods are up-to-date (1.10-1.11, as not all mods are updated to 1.11). Here's my Gamedata folder: The EVE icon is displayed while in-game, but upon opening complains about not having a config for certain visual mods on EVE. Now the main solution would be to download the configuration files from the EVE download page, but the only thing they have is the source code, with the following message "Note that the Config files have not changed in this release - you do not need to update them if you already have these or another config.". Here's an example of the config error: (The same error message is displayed when in a different category, but instead of "EVE_SHADOWS{}", it is replaced with whatever category it is in. (ex: "EVE_CLOUDS{}" for the cloud and atmosphere category). For the last image, here's what the actual problem is: (it appears as though EVE doesn't even have any affect on Kerbin at all). So my question is: Does anybody else have this problem, or a solution to it? And I also ask if EVE Redux is a working mod that functions as intended (that won't also have this problem)

  9. Module Manager is a pretty useful mod for practically managing mods, basically, in sarbian's words: "is mod that let you write patch file that edit other part at load time. With is you can edit squad (and other mod) part without overwriting their file." Now, again, this will mostly be for Windows. Step 1: Go to this link, and scroll down slowly to where it will say "Downloads:" And it should look like this. Link: Step 2: Find your KSP version, the latest version is pretty much 1.10, and I have that version. So I would go underneath it and click on either the zip, or dll. I do not know the differences between them but I just did zip. Step 3: When it downloads, open the location in your files. Find the zip or dll, and open it. Step 4: Now when you open it, you should see a README and a dll. Click the dll and get the GameData folder up. Now, drag the dll into the GameData folder. Step 5: Put the Module Manager dll into the GameData folder, make sure its not in any of the files inside the GameData folder. Step 6: You may now rerun KSP. If anything went wrong or didn't go as planned, please let me know so I can help you out with your problem.
  10. I heard you wanna install mods. This will help you. Soon I will do a Module Manager tutorial, but CKAN in my opinion a very easy easy way to install mods. Steps: First, you wanna go to this link, and follow my instructions. https://github.com/KSP-CKAN/CKAN/releases/tag/v1.29.2 This will take you to something where you will see "Freedman" or something like that. Scroll all the way to the bottom. (This is mainly for windows sorry mac bros) Now, click on ckan.exe. Let it download, and then open it, it should be at the bottom like most .exe downloads are. Now, it might say like it was blocked from Windows Security, if it was, this may be the end, because you might have to change some settings with Windows Defender. Do not do this if you think it will harm your computer. Now, when you open it, it may show like a "Run" option, click Run. It may update repositories when it opens, just wait. Now, you should see a list of mods and then some other things, the only thing you need to really use is Refresh, Apply Changes, and the list of mods. Now, say you want to refresh the list, click refresh. If you want to install a mod(s), click the check box and click Apply Changes. You might wanna make sure the version of the mod is up-to-date, and you might need Module Manager for some, which I will do a tutorial of soon. Eu instalei alguns mods no meu KSP 1.10 (EVE, DistantObject, KSP secondary Motion, PlanetShine, Sigma, Scatterer e Astronomers Visual Pack), despois de instalar quando fui abrir meu save todos os contratos, tantos os ativos quantos os do prédio de missão sumiram. Não consigo mais realizar nenhuma missão e assim não consigo mais pontos de ciência. Alguém pode me ajudar ?

  14. Hi, I have Modular Launch Pads, and I tried to use the Saturn V from the bluedog design bureau, and when i try to launch, the saturn 5 is stuck to the launchpad. I'm designing a couple of SSTOs and I'm testing them with different fuel levels for re-entry, to see if they are stable, but it is a hard thing to test, I remember installing Ferram Aerospace Research and it had a cool assistant that displayed some useful aerodynamic coefficients. What I'm looking for is a similar mod but for the stock aero model, I did a couple of google searches but couldn't find much.

  18. Hi, i want to make a ksp mod to simulate the proverse yaw effect caused by the bell-shaped lift distribution formulated by Prandlt. As a layman, i have no idea how to program and create a mod to do that, so, maybe i can get some help. The mod would be very simple, it would create trust at instead of drag when aileron is applied, and it could also have UI that allow you to switch on and off this effect and control its intensity. The bell lift distribution create this effect, as you aply aileron to generate more lift on the wingtip you also generates more trust, thus yawing in the same direction of the turn. For understanding more of this you can search for the prandlt-D project that is made by NASA. I want to reproduce this effect on KSP to make better flying wings projects, i hope you can help me with this project!   21. So I'm gonna admit this now. For the past year-and-a-half that I've had this game, I've never gone super in-depth with career mode, as sandbox is just kinda my thing. But career mode has gotten my interest for a good few months now, and I just think the mode itself with its technological progression with the tech tree has made me fascinated. Now I'll actually try to play the mode and be able to go past getting into suborbital flight. I've also not posted that much here on the forums, so I'll do more by showing off missions that I do through logs. I'll be having fun with this and I hope you do too as you read along. I'll post my first log soon, maybe tomorrow or the day after, but I'll definitely make sure I do. By the way, my career won't be completely stock, as I have a few mods (some by Angel-125, CobaltWolf, bcink, and others) along with it. Most of the time when I see other users' logs, they will have a few mods, too.
  22. I tend to run fairly heavily modded games, as ive exhausted the stock game and i need more to enjoy it and challenge me. However, with modded installs i tend to run into performance issues sometimes. I have a pretty decent pc, ryzen 5 2600, 2070 super, 16gb 3200mhz ram. With the stock game i can run it at max settings over 100 fps, but with modded installs it tends to to down, which is fine, but not as low as it is sometimes. With ksp being pretty cpu dominant, and single threaded at that, i imagine graphics mods wont affect me that much? As i have a powerful gpu with 8gb vram, and 16gb ram should be more than enough too? Im using ksp 1.8.1 at the moment, as i want to play with sigma dimensions. I was using 6.4x scale with 9.6x orbits. I was also using astronomers visual pack with the 8k textures. About 150 mods total installed with ckan. I was getting 1 fps. Not even 2. I had a few guesses as to what it could be, maybe the 8k textures, or the ground scatter being scaled as well, which was weird. But if i went eva, i got 50 fps, but not inside the ship? I downgraded to 4k textures for avp, uninstalled my skybox mod, and fixed the ground scatter, and its at 20fps roughly now, but thay may well be just cos i restarted the game. Using alt f12 and looking at the performance tab, it looks like im only using 4gb ram, with 5gb allocated? I installed this mod called heap padder, as i thought it would improve performance. I havent uninstalled it yet, but maybe thats causing a bug? All i really want is a general idea of what kind of mods affect performance the most. Part mods, plugins etc. Sorry for rambling but its getting on my nerves especially with my pc being more than up to par.
  23. hello, I am going to make rp-1 for ksp2. Just to clarify, I mean new types of fuel and new parts to run on them.you may be wondering, its at least a year before launch, so why are you doing it now? well, if I get all the mumbo jumbo before it is released, all I have to do is familiarize myself with the code and then edit it to make a mod.
  24. Ok, i'm not an absolute noob in KSP but I'm far from being a veteran. I'm the perpetual student, always learning (and occaisionally even succeeding). So here's my question: The FAR mod, yay or nay? I try to keep my install pure stock, but the idea of a more realistic aerodynamic model is compelling. Further, I'm running KSP 1.10.0 and will try to upgrade to 1.10.1 this wekend. Is FAR worth it, especially on these newest versions?
