  1. Hello All, I have a lightly modded (10-12 mods) OSX KSP 1.3.1, that I want to convert to a Win KSP 1.3.1, before I then let it update to 1.6.1. However, this is the first time I am performing this kind of Wizardry.... Can someone please point me at a thread that advises what to do/not do, or provide a reply with instructions? I think i just need to change the environment Info from OSX *** to the Windows *** version? e.g. envInfo = - Environment Info - Unix 7FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF Args: KSP - versionFull = 1.3.1.1891 (OSXPlayer) versionCreated = 1.3.0.1804 (OSXPlayer) @Mods, I was not sure where else to put the question, so please move if there is somewhere more appropriate.
  2. Alright, for the last few weeks I have attempted to install CKAN on my Mac since I heard it was wonderful for installing add-ons, but it seems that every time I get even remotely close to opening it, something goes wrong. Now, I'm no computer wizard, but I followed the user guide and the install guide to the minute, but just cannot seem to open the GUI. I try opening CKAN.dmg, the icon appears for 1-second before closing. I use the directions for the terminal, nothing happens. At this point, I'm ready to just go back to manual installing even though it's much more tedious. Here are some of my specs (feel free to laugh): MacBook Air (13-inch, 2017), 1.8 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, Macintosh HD, Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536 MB, macOS Mojave, V 10.14.3. My KSP version is 1.6.1. Any tips would be appreciated. Also, I downloaded both the .exe and the .dmg files from here, since I wasn't sure which one to use(I have tried both). Thanks!
  3. Hi guys. This is my first post, as I made my account specifically to ask about a big issue I'm having with this mod. (Note that this is technically my 2nd post, since I already posted this without the Log on this page) First of all, I'm playing KSP 64bit on OSX and recently managed to install CKAN using Mono. Procedural Parts is really what got me hyped up for KSP again. Its my dream mod. I've successfully installed many mods using CKAN and also tried to install this mod on KSP Version 1.3. However, my game freezes in the loading screen every time I try to use procedural parts (It happens when I want to launch a rocket after assembling it using procedural parts). The game doesn't crash, it freezes and becomes unresponsive, which forces me to force quit the app. I've tried to find people having the same issue online, but can't seem to find anything. I've tried to launch the game with only this mod installed and it STILL happens.. on version 1.3, as well as 1.3.1 (I used this version of the mod for 1.3.1). All tries were done with a clean install of the game. I just don't know what the issue could be. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could help me out here!! You would really make my week Thanks in advance! Unity Log: https://www.dropbox.com/s/pe2l5fkdp3i7oeb/Player.log?dl=0
  4. KSP crashed when I clicked the launch button in the VAB. system specs: v.10.13.3 processor: 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5 memory:8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 another, similar, crash from a week or so ago: ksp.log: launch options: -heapsize 2097152 -force-opengl thanks, Milo
  5. So I get a crash right during the black screen after loading everything and before the main menu. The RAM usage also was right around 5.0 Gb at that time (not sure if relevant). My MacBook has these specs MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017) Processor 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7 Memory 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3 Graphics Radeon Pro 560 https://www.dropbox.com/s/kkaukkuqme9875s/Player.log?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/ravubhuetl7yuri/1.3.1 Mods?dl=0
  6. I tried following the instructions for installing CKAN on my Mac (using terminal mono), but I can't get it to work. I am using a MacBook pro (Touch-bar) with OS High Sierra. Has anyone solved this issue? My goal is to get RSS up and running.
  7. I've had the game for a few years now. I just upgraded to KSP 1.3.1 using the OSX installer. I did the usual tricks to get it to work (moving it out of Applications, etc). However, anytime I try to run it, it freezes at the first screen. When I did a fresh install of KSP, this is where it freezes at. Important note: The splash screens and witty activity all continue to rotate. The load bar just freezes at their respective points. Though, in the first, it makes it to where it says "Loading Asset Bundle Definitions", then jumps to the /Squad/Spaces/mk2InlineInternal/Internal/mk2InlineInternal. No, I am not running OSX High Sierra yet (have apps that haven't been made compatible with that yet), and I've rebooted my Mac. And again, I moved it out of the Applications folder, even moved it back in. Any feedback would be appreciated here. [config] build id = 01891 2017-10-05_22-09-48 Branch: master language = en-us Model Name: iMac Model Identifier: iMac14,2 Processor Name: Intel Core i5 Processor Speed: 3.2 GHz Number of Processors: 1 Total Number of Cores: 4 L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB L3 Cache: 6 MB Memory: 24 GB System Version: macOS 10.12.6 (16G29) Kernel Version: Darwin 16.7.0 Boot Volume: Macintosh HD Boot Mode: Normal Secure Virtual Memory: Enabled System Integrity Protection: Enabled Time since boot: 1:01
  8. Version: KSP OSX 1.3 (Uncertain if 32bit or 64 bit) Mod List: Like some other reports, KSP is about at the end of the loading, when it crashes. A few mods seem to cause this, and a few examples seem to include BDArmory (but not Baha Turret), SM Armory (with SM Industries), and Modular Kolonization System (MKS). The above are the mods that DO seem to work, though adding any of the ones I just listed makes the game crash. I assume it isn't related to memory, because if I remove a big folder like the BoulderCo from Andromeda: Daydream and add BDA, it still crashes. Link to the Player.log
  9. I have been seeing a lot of macOS Sierra players having issues with infinite loading screens and CTDs. Apparently it's a known issue that Mac users should expect with Sierra. I'm wondering if anyone knows why I do not have this issue at all. My setup: 2013 MacBook Pro 13in macOS Sierra & KSP 1.2.1 on Steam
  10. I understand that OSX Sierra is a bit of a obstacle regarding KSP, I haven't updated to sierra ever since I herd the news that it caused/causes issues with KSP. I herd squad was attempting to create a work around for this issue as well. Any info on this situation is greatly needed and aprecieated. Just wondering where we are at.
  11. I would love to use my 3D SpaceMouse with KSP 1.2 but the controller settings page says it's not supported. What a bummer. I love crusin' around solidworks with this thing and would be amped if I could use it with KSP too. Does anyone have this figured out? It sure would be great to have this supported on other platforms. Thank you for an amazing and fun space travel simulator!
  12. Fresh install, latest and greatest (Version 1.2.0 - build id = 01586 - 2016-10-11_13-01-49 - Branch: master - Mac OS X 10.11.6 aka El Capitan ) I have no text in the opening load screen, setting screen is missing text and icons for APPLY ACCEPT etc. When I play the game (quick new game, text is missing there as well) the Navball has no text or numbers, all numbers and text is missing. Included is the KSP.Log file, and screenshots of the opening load screen and the settings menu. https://www.dropbox.com/s/wi8fi6aqsoan9uf/KSP.log?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/mnpilcho888kjgf/Opening.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/v6iattpzke0oql0/Setting screen.png?dl=0
  13. Hello. Again, since the previous release, i got no response on why 6DOF is not yet supported on OS X? I got this message in the config, and i can't use it in game. So, will it be? If yes, when? Thank you!
  14. hello. im playing 1.12 on a Mac OSX 10.11.5 and was wondering if there is a way i can get the game to display in full screen on the main display without showing a blank grey game screen screen (its like the menu color without any selectable items) on the second display connected via the Thunderbolt port. thanks!!
  15. Hi! KSP crash continuosly after separation of TR-38-D, if there are something attached below at the separation, CRASH! I also have some (already know) noise glitches on the flags on VAB/SPH and around the Launch pad. Here my specifications, but everything seems to be updated at the last version... KSP: 1.1.2 Mac: iMac 21,5 2015 Intel Core i5 2,7GHz 8GB RAM Graphic: Intel Iris Pro 1536 OS X El Captan 10.11.4 Here the logs files: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/42map8qvg2n71ds/AABfutM1VPElV1CX46MnTJXxa?dl=0 thanks! 16. So, I've been dealing with an instant crash issue in KSP, as reported here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/137661-110-crashes-instantly-on-load-osx-edition/#comment-2529501 In my journey for an answer (nothing's worked yet), I came across this: http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/our-game-no-longer-runs-on-mac-osx.395699/ Very recent thread, only started 20 days ago. The error described there is exactly the error I'm getting. Apparently there's some kind of conflict with Unity 5 and OS X and, in my situation, OSX, and other Unix-based machines. The former I can confirm firsthand, the latter is more anecdotally. Unfortunately, the fix appears to be squarely in the dev side of things. I haven't found any way to do this on the user end (and I've been working at this for the last three days, there's no easy solution to it). I know this isn't technically the right place to bring this up, but I hope this gets some visibility on behalf of non-forum users that might be having the same problem/for those that might have a fix for the problem.
  17. UPDATE: It seems like this is a problem with Unity 5 and machines that run OSX - this is not an issue with KSP in and of itself. Evidence here: http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/our-game-no-longer-runs-on-mac-osx.395699/ UPDATE 2: Seems this is also a problem with Linux. Possibly an issue with Unix based systems as a whole? Hopefully this gets some attention. Okay, hopefully I'm doing this right, I've never submitted a bug report/otherwise before. Information first: KSP version: 1.1.0 Crash log(s): None, it apparently dies before being able to generate one. System specifications: OSX version 10.6.8 Processor: 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Memory: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 9400 (It's a MacBook, no real clear graphics card) System: 32 bit Clean installation: Yes, just downloaded it a half-hour ago. What happens is, when I go to launch it (either by double-clicking on the launcher or the game itself), it starts up and than instantly quits. The icon lasts for a fraction of a second in the dock before dying. When it does this, nothing else happens - no crash log is generated, there's no messages from my system indicating that something terrible has happened, all that happens is that it starts up and commits seppuku virtually instantly. Additionally, I've tried launching it through terminal commands, and the exact same thing happens. At this point, I'm assuming this is probably a hardware related issue. For the record, 1.0.4 and 1.0.5 run just fine. EDIT: Found the player.log:
  18. I have an older Mac that is restricted by Apple from installing Mac OSX more recent than 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. When I attempt to launch KSP 1.1 using either the launcher or KSP app, the Kerbal icon bounces once or twice in the dock and then disappears, and nothing further happens. This is probably an issue with Unity 5, and thus there is nothing that can be done. The minimum system requirements listed on the website call for Mac OSX 10.6 or greater. If this issue is unsolvable, that line will have to be revised. When I attempt to run the launcher, this turns up in the Console app: 4/20/16 11:34:49 AM com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[106] ([0x0-0x28028].unity.Squad.Kerbal Space Program[268]) Exited with exit code: 1
  19. Ok, so question with an obvious answer (probably), how does one run KSP 64bit on OS X? I cannot seem to find the option for it or the file to launch it in 64bit mode, and I don't believe this is the default mode as my version number isn't followed by (x64) I am running 1.1.0.1230 for reference. Any help is much appreciated and I apologize in advance if I've missed something obvious.
  20. Does anyone here run KSP on OSX El Capitan? I'm experiencing constant freezes on OSX Yosemite when loading the launchpad (Each time forcing me to restart my laptop) and I'm wondering if upgrading would improve my experience. If this is not the correct forum, I apologize. It didn't look like that it fit in Tech Support or Gameplay Questions either.
  21. Lately, KSP has been acting rather strange on mac computers (talking about the Steam version). I put this post to unmodded because both modded and unmodded have the same issue, and I would like to fix the unmodded version first. In the tracking center, KSP has this strange thing where when you zoom out, the planets you focus on and the sun shift to the right so that you can see your vessels orbiting nothing. On the left of the image, instead of the rest of the frame, there is a strange graphical distortion. This is a minor thing, but could there be some sort of fix? Reinstall and verifying integrity of Steam game cache does not work.
  22. While trying to launch my newly-assembled in-place miner/refinery into LKO for future acceleration to the Jool system, I've encountered a bug - this ship https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BydC01hwsfF1RTVmdFlqLVJFQTQ&usp=sharing loads just fine onto the launchpad, and the first stage takes it to ~50 km. But then, when I tried to begin the second stage: Disaster! Staging the decoupler or decoupling it manually (i.e. by right-clicking) causes the whole game to crash. I've included the relevant logfiles in the folder above.
