  1. Oh hai. This is a basic planet pack so far that adds a Near-Kerbin binary asteroid, Doppler-Dyva, a Pallas-like two-toned potato, Quazen, and four binary Jool trojans. Basically asteroids not filled by niches such as Minor Planets Expansion. Download here on SpaceDock. This was the old picture of Doppler, once named Onor (please don't deadname it). It's a relic of my past and how I've improved. Requirements: Kopernicus ModuleManager A good computer
  2. Does anyone know how to make planet maps with GIMP? That's all I need to know. A OPM-esque modpack that expands the outer edge of the solar system. Still OPM compatible, hopefully. - Tervin, a GP2 esque saturn analog, with a uranus-esque color, larger than jool. Multiple ring systems, and seven major moons: Tok, A heavily cratered metallic world, mainly made of iron and nickel compounds, as a mimas analog Eeloo as an enceladus analog Sila, A world with massive nitrogen ice glaciers, with large darker areas from mountains jutting out of the ice as a tethys analog Kolmas, A brownish rocky world with minor glaciers that appear like frozen lakes, tall mountains, escarpments and the occaisonal deep sinkhole as a dione analog Tim, A mix of corot-5b and triton, a cold, carbonaceous planet with large crystals made of diamond, covered in an occaisonal patch of snow as a rhea analog Toltin, A titan analog with a thick atmosphere, seas of an unidentified liquid and dried up rivers and plains, as well as eroded mountains. A mountain range running north to south on the moon gives it a unique appearance. The mountain range's highest peaks have alpine lakes of liquid methane even on the equator, where most methane seas dry up. Kontra, An Iapetus analog with bizzare ridges, escarpments, and color changes as if it was assembled badly from parts like a spacecraft. - Tubal, Orange/yellow gas giant that is an analog of (real life) gas planet five, with four major moons Fezan, A world that rotates so quickly that at the highest mountain peaks on the equator, one can jump to orbit Kivre, A "blue mars", being composed mostly of copper compounds. Potash, A world with terrain and coloring like rock salt. It has a thin atmosphere about half the size of duna's. Aur, a mysterious asteroid with precious metal deposits... - Kanla, Uranus analog with purplish-blue coloring, with six major moons. Ezon, A barely spherical grey rock with less gravity than gilly. a puck analog. Flake, A small world that is extremely mountainous, save for one valley covered in lava flows. A miranda analog. Koltia, A world that has a slightly thinner than kerbin atmosphere and is barely able to support ammonia lakes at the poles and equator. An ariel analog that is light blue. Mesin, A world that is butter-colored with many smooth craters that are like dents and darker valleys. Considered a sister moon to minmus. An umbriel analog. Its binary partner is a titania analog. Meslo, The binary partner of the umbriel analog. A world with a magnetic field that is dead on the surface, but an easter egg reveals the kraken civilization within an underground nitrogen sea. Their failed colonization attempts at Bop have caused them to hesitate to colonize other bodies or make their presence known beyond a few "accidents" with kerbal ships. A titania analog. Hemat, A world with a rusty orange color, like a less intense duna, with no ice caps and few craters. Some of the mountainous regions are grey. An oberon analog. Ned, a neptune analog which is deep red in color, with stormy clouds. It has four major moons: Aster, an adrastea analog that is just as red as its parent planet, orbiting extremely close to the planet, barely above the point where it would break apart. A little smaller than gilly. Telm, a triton analog with frozen nitrogen glaciers and frozen oxygen snow. It has a tenous atmosphere of nitrogen. Blas, a super-venus with a 50 atm carbon dioxide atomsphre and lava seas. The new final boss. Met, inspired by Mez, a lens shaped planet spinning extremely quickly. Volta, a vulcan analog, a tidally-locked heatblasted world barely hanging on. Has a trail of material behind it. Prot, a planet nine analog, a super-kerbin that is extremly cold and has no ice, with mysterious surface features and a strange eccentricity and inclination. It has one moon. Bek, a frozen world with quartz crystals across the surface.
  3. SUPERPLUTO126 PRESENTS…… DISTANT SKIES:A KSP MODPACK. What is Distant Skies? Distant skies has been a long dream of mine, this project was inspired by several other mods, such as ‘Galaxies Unbound’ ‘Infinite Discoveries’ and ‘Interstellar adventure revived’. Distant Skies seeks to add a Truly Significant amount of TRUE star systems to the game. Not only that, but it is also based heavily on real life solar systems. The Closest Star is Alpha Centauri, and I also have granted myself more artistic liberties here and added extra planets and moons when possible that are within the confines of realism. There are no habitable worlds in the nearest stars to kerbol, and even the atmospheres are scarce at best. You will have to get Crafty if you want to engineer craft to go here. How many Stars/Systems does this mod intend to add in the end? Yes, I dont even have a solid figure lol, I have an entire doc for a to-do list and half of it is systems i intend to add. You are free to make suggestions in the Discord for interesting stars with planets (Or even those that dont!). Of course I will be adding Tau Ceti, Epsilon Eridani and Trappist. I will also be adding more obscure systems, such as L-59 and Kepler 444. Why are the planets low quality?Where are the scatterers and Eve Atmospheres? Why are the Red Dwarves not red? I am new to planet modding, thus, don't expect starcrusher level stuff from me yet. Sunflares, clouds, better atmospheres are something I want too. There are no Biomemaps yet or Rational resources support, this is a VERY wip mod. Also before you ask I am aware of the issues on Proxima D, a Revamp of the planet is WIP. How Can I Help this mod in development? Playing it, making suggestions, and engagement. That is both very much a morale boost and helpful to diagnosing issues, making changes and improving all of our experiences. 5. Threads of the Month: April 2023 Edition Kcalbeloh System is a planet pack adding an entirely new black hole system with 30 unique celestial bodies, including a super-massive black hole, 4 stars, 15 planets, and 10 moons and asteroids, each with its own unique set of challenges and features. This planet mod provides a diverse range of environments for Kerbals to explore, such as a planet with surface torn apart by tidal force, binary gas giants with multiple moons, a planet tidally locked by its parent star, and a small moon with a twisted surface. Like the movie Interstellar, there are also a pair of wormholes available for Kerbals to jump between Kerbol system and Kcalbeloh system, adding another layer of exploration and excitement. If you're looking for an exciting and rewarding space adventure, Kcalbeloh System is an excellent addition to Kerbal Space Program, providing tens or even hundreds of hours of entertainment. I really appreciate everyone who has followed this mod. Also thanks to everyone who has provided suggestions, bug reports, or any other forms of help. Also, if you have a cool idea and want to contribute to this project, feel free to let me know. Get ready to blast off into the cosmos and embark on a thrilling journey through the Kcalbeloh System. 6. I am wondering if anyone has any planet packs they could recommend to me that work with the ones I have already included in this list. I also would like to recognize some of the amazing planet packs that have been made for KSP here as well. Please note I have zero interest in system replacer packs. I currently have the following planet packs installed and they appear to be compatible in my game and work in 1.12.5 (they are listed in alphabetical order): Asclepius - Adds a rocky planet with thin atmosphere that gets dense enough to fly planes in it's canyons. Also has a moon. Custom Asteroids - Technically not a planet pack, but adds more bodies to the solar system Helvica - Adds one small gas giant and its moons to the space between the orbits of Duna and Dres. The gas giant orbits in retrograde. (no longer maintained and author is looking for someone to take it over) Janet's Minor Planets - Adds a few asteroids along with some Jool trojans. Kcalbeloh System Planet Pack - Adds an interstellar distance system that orbits a fantastic looking black hole. Kerbol Origins - Adds in planets that aim to recreate the SQUAD planet ideas that did not make it into the game. Minor Planets Expansion - Made to work alongside Outer Planets Mod by adding asteroids and dwarf planets. Muniant - Adds a Dres-sized planet with a highly elliptical orbit. Shows Dres' description and the planet's name is not capitalized. Near Kerbin Objects - Adds three asteroids with orbits that bring them near Kerbin Other Worlds - Adds an orange dwarf star called Cercani along with it's systems. Intends to be a story based pack. Outer Kerbin - Adds a new moon and sub-moon to the Kerbin SOI Outer Planets Mod - Expands the outer edge of the Kerbol system to include bodies that resemble those that appear in our solar system. Quackpack - A fantastic planet pack that adds a few sun grazers and sub-Moho planets, filling in a very under used portion of the Kerbol System. Silan - Adds a trans-Joolian gas giant with rings along with its moons. Snazzy's OPM - Adds a gas giant called Gorgis along with seven moons. Xubol - Adds a sub-Moho planet based on an unimplemented idea from SQUAD. Zive System - Adds a star with five planets and some moons. A brown dwarf also orbits the star. If anyone decides to download and use these mods make sure you read the mod description in full and install ALL dependencies or they will not work. Does anyone know if Galaxies Unbound would work with these? It looks great but I haven't tried it out. I will add compatible mods to the list as I find more or they are suggested to me. If I have missed one it's likely not on purpose except in the case of Grannus and Galileo Planet pack which are not compatible with modern versions of Scatterer and so I will not include them in this list.
  7. What is More Real Exoplanets? More Real Exoplanets (MREx) is a series of mods that add confirmed exoplanets to KSP. Similar to Andi's Real Exoplanets (REx), MREx puts each star at their correct right ascension and declination, albeit with their distance from the Sun shortened to avoid game-breaking bugs caused by large distances. Each planet is based on their real-life properties with some artistic liberty. Series 1 adds two star systems, Kepler-186 (with Space Dust configs) and CoRoT-7. Series 2 adds two star systems, K2-18 and Luyten's Star. Each series will add two new star systems. Download: GitHub Follow the development of MREx at KerbalHub's Planet Emporium's Discord Server: https://discord.gg/hYTjzJzyFZ Thanks to: Squad: The developers of KSP @Andi K.: For inspiring me to make MREx @Pkmniako: For making Niako's Kopernicus Utilities, a dependency of all packs in MREx Kabram: For making the sunflares used in MREx's scatterer configs and making them free to use @AbnormalVenegrade: Space Dust configs for (now so far) Kepler-186 License: All Rights Reserved (ARR)

  12. What is this? The sequel to the planet pack Low light levels Red. The pack adds in two binary stars and 11 planets and moons. Bodies: Rubo: A white dwarf that was once a mighty star like Kerbol. Loth: A fiery world with oceans of lava that are slowly cooling in the dim light of Rubo. Ufgo: A tidal locked desert with old dried up oceans and ice on the farside. Crof: A small world even more forgotten than Dres. It has a cratered cold surface. Giza: The biggest gas giant in the system, but still small. Most of its mass got lost in the past. Micry: The only moon still orbiting Giza. It has a cratered dead surface. Zec: A gas giant with strong winds and two very clear bands. Thesi: First moon of Zec, it has a thick atmosphere and small oceans of liquid methane. Pece: An extraordinary asteroid, it is in a binary dance with its partner Poco. Poco: The other asteroid roughly the same as Pece, also orbiting the barycenter. Wilco: One of the most mighty objects in the universe, with the size of the KSC and the name of a scientist his dog. Ria: A cold icy world with a beautiful view of Wilco. Qen: A small asteroid orbiting at big distance from Wilco. The series -3LB - You are looking at it right now... -3LR - The other part of this series which adds 2 brown dwarfs. -B2L - A pack that adds in two blindingly bright stars. 14. 24/01/2024: Important update 0.2.0! Major performance fixes! Read the two sections below "Download" for more info. APP (Avalon Planet Pack or Avali Planet Pack) is a planet pack for KSP, built to tell not the story of Kerbalkind’s first venture into space, but that of the Avali, the avian alien species known from the popular Starbound mod. Avalon comes bundled with a mod to replace some of the Kerbal models in-game with Avali, and some flavour texts have been changed to include Avali references. APP has you start from the Avali homeworld of ’Avalon’ (hence the mod’s name), which isn’t a planet, but a moon orbiting an Ice Giant! This means an abundance of early-game destinations and science, but it’ll only get harder after that. Avalon is orbiting Solakku, a high-mass star near the galaxy’s core. Having a more massive star means planetary orbits are scaled up compared to the stock Kerbin system. Transfer windows are rare, transfer times long, and antennas don’t reach nearly as long as you might want them to. To make it far, you will need to plan ahead, and get the most efficiency you possibly can out of each launch. ISRU will be a heavy part of any playthrough, and Avalon is ready, with complete configs for CRP, SpaceDust and Kerbalism resources. There is also three interstellar destinations in the pack: Crest, a red-dwarf directly orbiting Solakku. Karat, a dead white dwarf a medium distance away from Avalon, and Amber Light, a red giant flying by the rest of the systems, luckily quite far away. Avalon Radius: 0.75 Kerbin Radii Gravity: 0.25g Atmospheric Pressure: 1.5 atm Orbiting: Valaya, ice giant Avalon is difficult to launch from, due to the intense atmospheric drag, through an optimal location for building SSTOs (you can break orbital velocity at sea level or eject to escape velocity using only jets), and, being a moon, also provides an increased difficulty for navigation. Its surface is covered in oceans made not out of water, but of a mixture of water and ammonia, as the mean surface temperature is a round -30°C. It does still posses an ocean of liquid water, but deep underground, warmed by tidal forces. Its surface is additionally cooled by the constant presence of a cloud cover blocking light from reaching the surface. Its perfectly habitable conditions for the Avali, an ammonia-based life form. It shares the sky of Valaya with 5 other moons, some easier to reach than others. They will be your most valuable locations for early exploration, and good spots for fueling up. The journeys between planets here will be long and fuel-intensive. System Layout Full map of all solar systems in the pack (names only, no image spoilers): Map of just the Solakku system, with images of each celestial body (slight spoilers!): Screenshots (spoilers) Tips for playing Build relays! The stock antennas aren’t anywhere powerful enough to reach even the outer planets, so you will need to strategically deploy relays not just around the planets, but also orbiting Solakku itself. Over-do transfer burns! Even getting to the nearest planet to Avalon takes over a decade. Getting to one of the outer planets takes up to 200+ years. It is basically required to burn additional dV on each transfer to get to where you’re going in a reasonable amount of time. Near-Future electric engines are really good for this. Launch multiple missions per transfer window! A few particular windows only come around every few decades (the window to Edith being the longest, only once every 20 years), so you really need to launch all the missions you can for each. ISRU is your friend! SpaceDust is a heavily recommended install. The other moons make for really good places to fuel (or build, depending on your mods) interplanetary crafts. If in science mode, set science rewards slider to 40% in difficulty settings for a more balanced experience. Bundled mods These mods are required, but included with the pack download, and you shouldn’t need to install them individually. Better Skybox (custom-made for this pack, License: MIT) Tholin’s PQS Additions (custom-made for this pack, License: MIT) Required mods These mods must be installed before the planet pack. Kopernicus Kopernicus Expansion Continueder Scatterer KSP Community Fixes (see "Known Issues" below) Heavily recommended mods! The pack will technically load without these, but may be unplayable past a certain point. I designed the pack with these mods in mind. Avali Space Program Near Future Technologies Far Future Technologies Though KSP-IE should also work Community Tech Tree JX2 Antenna EVE In general, you will benefit from having a large set of mods while playing this pack. Mod support Additional, APP supports the following mods, if you have them installed: Community Resource Pack SpaceDust Planet Shine Distant Object Enhancement EVE Rational Resources Kerbalism (resource configs only) Known Issues You will need to install KSP Community Fixes and disable the stock manouver tool in its settings, or else the game will lag heavily, and eventually crash when orbiting one of the other three stars. This happens even when not currently using the manouver tool, as its code is always running in the background. This is a stock KSP bug, and not something I appear to be able to fix, unfortunately. Distant Object Enhancement may interfere with my custom skybox shader, which will appear in-game as the skybox being way too dark. To fix this, go to the Distant Object Enhancement settings in the toolbar, and disable the option for Max Skybox Brightness On some of the smaller moons in the pack, placing a flag will occasionally result in the flag spawning displaced far above the surface. Not technically an issue, but nothing in the interstellar star systems has been playtested in science or career mode yet. Expect typos in flavor texts, broken science rewards, and low terrain detail. Note on upgrading When upgrading versions, always make sure to completely uninstall (delete) the previous version first, or you may end up with duplicate files that break the mod install. Download From SpaceDock Config File A config file exists in GameData/Avalon/0-settings.cfg (as of version 0.2.0). Here, you can change some settings including disabling the interstellar destinations if you have little RAM (it won't disable the stars themselves, but their planets). If you are daring, you can edit GameData/Avalon/2-Contracts.cfg where I had to put the lines forcing Kopernicus' on-demand texture loading on. Only set this to false if you have 32GB of RAM or more. Will provide a really good performance boost when on or near a celestial body's surface, though. 24/01/2024: Update 0.2.0 Introduced the config file Now forcing on-demand loading on so the RAM requirements of the pack are no longer astronomical Download size reduced by almost 2GB Fixed Musoya deleting any vessels in its SOI Asteroid belts added around all stars and some planets I switched to a new kind of custom PQS node for 16-bit heightmaps. This doesn't reduce RAM usage of the mod, but reduces download size, install size and load time significantly. Source Source codes for the plugin components of this pack are available on GitHub: BetterSkybox - Tholin's PQS Additions Source for the pack itself is here! Special thanks Various people in the Luna's Mods discord server, for helping me fix issues in the pack. Techo, for his contributions in the form of the moon Ghorun, and Avalon's cloud textures. 15. This mod adds 100 celestial bodies in a cluster orbiting far from the Sun while preserving the stock system. Designed for modded late game exploration, colonisation and other wackiness. Ever since the Kerbalkind learned how to properly look at the night sky, a bright blue light accompanied by a few flickering spots among the stars had always intrigued them. Throughout history, this realm in the deep sky has been associated with mythologies, the Kraken, the multiverse and snacks. As time passed, they realise that the greatest treasure the universe have to offer is right in their backyard - a neighboring cluster centered around a blue star with multiple yellow and red dwarfs guarding the outer reaches of the system. The more they looked, the more astonishing this system becomes: habitable worlds appeared one by one, documentations of ring systems became more and more detailed, the resolutions of images got higher and higher, and even a brand new protostar had been found. However, questions and mysteries started to pop up among the excitement: an abnormally high amount of friendly worlds near the quaternary red dwarf system, an unyielding planetary nebula around a main sequence star, the capture of some allegedly artificial signals, and an exotic stellar remnant with unknown composition. Nevertheless, this cluster remained silent but inviting, and space programs all over Kerbin began missions toward the stars. After countless missions to Jool, the spirit of the Kerbalkind was ignited once again to venture into The World Beyond, and this system is aptly named The Dawn Cluster. One day, all the boundaries will fall. Star map TWB does not replace the stock system and no changes has been made to it. Star emblems Inner Dawn System Dawn - An A3V class blue star, the center of the cluster that every planet and star orbits. It is quite a lot more massive and a lot brighter than Kerbol. The space near it harbors a large amount of planets. Oblivion System Oblivion - A new protostar orbiting Dawn from a distance with a big accretion disk (which is basically a colossal ring system) and plenty of asteroids. Despite it's unstable system, a few planets have already formed around it. Traverse System Traverse - A M1V orangish red dwarf shrouded by a immense nebula, it orbits roughly in the middle point of Dawn's SOI and holds up a Quadruple system with an very large amount of densely packed habitable worlds. Fragment - A very small M9V red dwarf orbiting Traverse in close binary. Due to it's size it has little effect on the overall structure of the system. Ascension System Ascension - A small M5V red dwarf orbiting Traverse from afar, shining a second dim light onto Traverse’s worlds, and also hosts some planets itself. Eternal - A tiny M8V red dwarf orbiting Ascension in binary Wall System Wall - A dim T4 class brown dwarf with only one companion. Eon System Eon - An outlying G7V yellow dwarf near the edge of the SOI of Dawn Barrier - VERY FAST spinning exotic stellar remnant orbiting Eon, and one of the most mysterious objects within the vicinity of Dawn. THE WORLD BEYOND IS CURRENTLY NOT READY FOR REVIEW AS MANY ASPECTS ARE STILL BEING DEVELOPED/REFINED. PLEASE DO NOT REVIEW THIS MOD UNTIL THIS NOTICE IS REMOVED. CC 4.0 BY-NC-SA INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS SUPPORTED MODS The Gold Standard: TWB provides configs for the resources added in TheGoldStandard, so you can mine gold and unobtainium far from home! COMPATIBILITY TWB is compatible with the following planet packs: Gameslinx's Planet Overhaul (GPO) Outer Planets Mod (OPM) Galileo's Planet Pack (GPP) Grannus Expansion Pack (GEP) Extrasolar* Other_Worlds Reboot (OWR) New Horizons Before Kerbin After Kerbin Whirligig World TWB is NOT meant to played with Principia, but you can install both and see what happens *Extrasolar is known to break the scatterer sunflares in TWB. Check page 9 in this thread for a workaround. KNOWN ISSUES The resource configs in this mod could make the stock KerbNet unusable (crafts that should have KerbNet access don't). This is a problem with KSP itself, and the best solution is to use the mod SCANSat and Waypoint Manager instead, both of which provides better functionality compared to the KerbNet. 16. THE MINOR PLANETS EXPANSION - 1.0.7 This One's for the Little Guys! I have worked on this mod for a few months now. It all started after I failed to find a mod that added analogues to various minor planets that was on par with something like OPM, or at the very least compatible, and the few mods I did find were all outdated. I took it upon myself to make a mod myself that would fill in these missing niches in the Stock+OPM system. Particularly, asteroids, comets, centaurs, and dwarf planets. I wrote down a list of nine objects, and now, four months later, I have now created my first planet pack! All of these new worlds were made from hand-drawn maps, with very little reliance on stealing from real world objects to ensure a stock-alike feel. This mod is made to be used along side OPM, think of it as an unofficial, fan-made expansion pack for OPM. The analogue list: Edas - Eros Vant - Vesta Zore - Psyche Lint/Mikey - 67P Crokslev - Chariklo Geito - Halley's Comet Havous - Haumea Kal - Namaka Ki'KI - Hi'iaka Mracksis - Makemake Flake - MK2 (not really, but it's a moon around a Makemake analogue) Ervo - Eris Archae - Dysnomia Soden - Sedna Lon - No Real-World Analogue Images: SpaceDock Link: https://spacedock.info/mod/2383/Minor Planets Expansion?ga=<Game+3102+'Kerbal+Space+Program'> This mod can also be acquired through CKAN! 17. THIS MOD IS NOT COMPLETE YET!!! I have created this thread in advance, you can follow dev updates here. Photos soon!
  18. After around a year of development, I feel that it is finally time to open a Dev thread! Boundless aims to be a mostly realistic, expansive, and detailed interstellar planet pack. This is my first (of hopefully many) planet packs that I'm going to be releasing, and I've learned a lot during the development of this pack. Development started wayyy back in February 2023, and has been steadily undergoing since. The home system includes 8 planets, ranging from the scorched Koron to the far-off ice giant Oura. The homeworld is the 3rd planet from the Asterai-Mikra binary, being more massive and larger than Kerbin, and hosting thin rings and 4 moons. A major point in this pack is focusing on all types of bodies, ranging from binaries to dwarf planets, which I find very little in other packs. There will be a total of 6 dwarf bodies in the home system, and some will even have moons. These will range from small asteroids to mun-sized icy bodies. The system in total will have 41 bodies. I will not be releasing any of the interstellar systems as of 0.1, only the main system. See below for details. A bit of clarification in regards to the soon-to-be 0.1 release: What will be in 0.1: - Most major bodies/moons in the Asterai (home) syste, - Full EVE/Scatterer support (no volumetrics atm) What will NOT be in 0.1 Parallax support (1.0/2.0) Volumetric support Interstellar destinations (I promise I wont do an intercept games with this, lol) Biome maps for all bodies Science Defs (In need of creative writers) Future plans 12+ total systems, 3 of which will be detailed to the level of the main system Homeswitch Full parallax 2.0 support Volumetric support Lore (?) Full list of bodies in 0.1 (And some plans for 0.2/0.11) Images (Spoilered in case you want to go in blind upon release!) p.s. We have a discord! https://discord.gg/pA5eFFhSyA
  19. This mod is not ready for review. It is heavily work in progress and there will be visual errors, bugs, and more. Please report them to help me fix them! THANK YOU FOR JULY 2023 TOTM! Join our discord!: https://discord.gg/P69PwuJGCa Overview: The Kerbals find themselves now on The Alter Kerbin, a world visually very similar to Kerbin, but yet vastly different. I seek to create a high-quality small-set of systems, with Indepth sciencedefs that allow you to truly discover what's brought a world to be and empower the player to meet extremes they haven't before yet seen. This mod is memory-intensive. If you have less than 16gb of memory, expect some issues with frames with all visual mods like parallax installed. 20. Overview After over 2 years of improving and learning, hopefully it is worth the wait to those who watched along the way. I started this project as an innocent curiosity, then a personal project that meant something to me. I wanted to set this one apart from the majority of planet mods. I wanted this to be good; as good as I could make it, and did the best I could with my lil' Macbook; with TextEdit and GIMP. I’ll see to even better as updates come. I hope you all enjoy what I have to share! This pack adds a whole new high-quality star system, Polaris, for you to explore, situated directly above the home system at 4.3 kerbal light years! The system is based on Polaris, but also has inspiration from WASP-12, Mu Arae, and our own Sol. It primarily adds giant planets and their satellites, with more to come in the future. The objects feature various scatters on their surfaces, so they’re not so barren! No pre-1.8 terrain shader either. For those with lower end computers, don’t worry! You won’t need visual mods to see wonderful worlds. I’ve designed it partly with no visuals in mind, but it’ll look even better with them! If Kopernicus Expansion is installed, wormholes will appear that can take you to and fro! SCIENCE NOTE: This is not a fully realistic recreation of the real Polaris System. The real system is quite young, has no detected planets so far, and the outermost star is an F-type, not an Alpha Centauri A analogue. Sorry Star Trek fans! This isn’t a Trek-themed pack. Celestial body list Delta-V map courtesy of @WarriorSabe! Gallery Thanks to @Clonosand @ballisticfox0for taking these wonderful pictures! Required mods --Being a mod that adds celestial bodies, it requires Kopernicus and its own prerequisites. Recommended/Optional mods --Arthur's TiltUnlocker will make Gyro sit on its side! Beware: You may run into some bugs with this. One such is its misbehavior with scatterer. --If you want to take a way of getting there that's less of a hassle, try wormholes with Kopernicus Expansion Continued-er! So far I have the stock system (and by extension JNSQ), Beyond Home, Whirligig World, GPP, Alternis Kerbol Rekerjiggered, and GEP primary. --If you want to get there the old fashioned way, I recommend Blueshift, KSPIE, or Far Future Technologies with Calvin's buffed ISP patch. Oh, and Better Timewarp for your convenience. --If you want a nice home that meshes well with this system, try Beyond Home. If you want to give the lone Polaris system some friends, you cannot go wrong with Extrasolar and Galaxies Unbound. Regarding errors If you encounter a problem, provide a snapshot of your GameData and your logs. I can't help you if I don't know what is wrong! See this thread on how: Mod Support —EVE —Scatterer —Sigma loading screens —DOE —Research Bodies —Sigma Dimensions —Most planet mods. Being a mod that adds a whole separate star system, it does not intrude upon any system replacers, system accessories, or other system adders. Download Github Spacedock Being a first mod and first release of said mod, there might be issues. So just report them and bear with me. FAQ -Is there a way to make the system closer? Yes! There is an optional patch I've included to make the distance 10 times closer than normal -I switched back to the KSC and everything looks all glitchy! What can I do!? The KSC will appear all wonky and glitchy if you switch back to it from a long distance. A simple scene change, like going into the VAB and then back, will fix it! -Is this a system replacer? What's the homeworld? This is not a system replacer, but instead a system adder. There are rough plans for a homeswitch in the distant future. 21. As part of an assignment for graduate school I created a planet for KSP and its Kopernicus mod, which I have dubbed Hira. Beyond the orbit of Eeloo, between where Sarnus and Urlum orbit in the Outer Planets Mod, Hira is suspected to once have been a rogue planet that was captured in the last few thousand years by the combined gravitational influences of Kerbol and Jool. It includes five custom biomes and a number of unique Science reports. With low gravity, a moderately high rotation speed, and no atmosphere, its surface is relatively easy to visit once the planet's SOI is reached. I make no claims about this being an exceptionally interesting or elaborate planet pack, but since I made it I figured I'd share it, so if you are looking for a new planet to visit, here it is. Let me know what you think or if you have any questions or issues Prerequisites: Kopernicus Installation is the standard procedure for any planet pack and most mods. Extract the ZIP archive and either copy the GameData folder into your installation directory or copy the problemecium folder into your GameData directory. Download
  22. Greetings fellow Kerbonauts! Kerbal Space Program has always been one of my favorite video games. And after finally learning how to mod, I present to you: Oprissmians Kerbol Expansion (very creative name I know) This planet pack will add a bunch of new worlds for you all to explore. With a total of 6 gas giants, 3 terrestrial planets and as-of-yet undecided number of moons currently planned, there will be a lot to explore. This early alpha version adds three out of the five gas giants (with as-of-yet placeholder atmospheres, so don't fly into them) as well as a moon for one of the gas giants. These gas giants are named Reatu, Thalmo and Tharko, with the moon being a moon of Tharko called Ulcme. Reatu basically is a "Super Jool", being nearly twice in radius as the green giant. Its colored in magenta-ish hues and boasts a decent ring system. Thalmo is slightly larger than half of Jool's radius and has a pretty red color. It has a gas giant "moon" called Tharko, which (excluding the storms) is almost perfectly white. Ulcme is a rocky small moon located in orbit around Tharko, where you can see both Thalmo and Tharko in the sky if you're at the right position! Supported Mods currently include Sigma Binary (which makes Thalmo and Tharko into a binary gas giant), with support for more mods being planned. Mods required Kopernicus (version depending on KSP version) Module Manager Community Terrain Texture Pack Supported & Recommended Mods Sigma Binary (to make Thalmo and Tharko into a binary system) JX2Antenna (for communication reasons unless you want it harder to return science) Better Time Warp (to reduce waiting time during transfers) KSP Community Fixes (higly recommended as it removes lag spikes during timewarp at very distant planets) If you find any bugs and/or have any suggestions/ideas how to fix them, please let me know. You can also suggest ideas for the moons of the gas giants (except Tharko as Ulcme is its only moon and the two terrestrial worlds as their moons are already planned), other celestial bodies for the Kerbol System or any mods that you want to see supported if you want. Without further ado, here are the download link and screenshot album link: Screenshot Album Download Link for v0.0.1 Version 0.0.2 is planned to release at latest in the second half of February, depending on how much time I can spend on development. Until then, have fun!

  24. Stars are everywhere in KSP planet packs, and I wanted to get a database for a bunch of star templates I have for modding reference. I will edit the page as I make the templates. Each will have a spoiler. I will be doing a basic M, K, G, F, A, B, and O type star. I decided to make the database public so anyone could use it, and created this forum page. Posting templates for non main sequence stars will have to be for the replies: this is my first planet pack project.
  25. The Plod System [1.7.3] I would highly recommend this review of the mod by KottabosGames. If you're reading this KottabosGames thanks again! What does this mod add? The Plod System adds a binary Sedna analogue dwarf planet to the far solar system. Plod: An icy, green dwarf planet with massive craters and looming mountains. Its orbit is giant and elliptical. Many blame Jool... or could it have been another hidden planet? Oob: Plod's binary companion, orbiting so close to Plod that orbiting in low-Plod-orbit is a necessity. Giant ice spikes jut into the world's horizon, segmenting the world's smoother, purpler terrain. Ninkle: A dark bluish-purple world that orbits Plod with minimal gravity. Its lowlands contrast nicely with exposed green under-ice, hinting at its past and formation. Tebos: A smooth, small world with a bright lump on one side. It is navy blue in appearance, with exposed yellow-brown under-ice and a tall, white mound on the side of the world, which the moon's tiny gravity could not conform. Lia: The oddball. This moon is though to have had severe out gassing and plumage in its early years. The surface is pink, and covered almost everywhere with sharp, spikey terrain. Fear not however, the moon's minuscule gravity makes the spikes much less dangerous than they could have been. Pictures (more to come shortly) Download Dependencies: Kopernicus Time warp mod (technically not required but Plod is like very VERY far away so it may be worth getting one to save time.) https://spacedock.info/mod/2033/The Plod System All rights reserved
