  1. So I've built a station, and I want it to be in a 120km orbit. Yet i'm not sure what a solar orbit is. I have a infrared scanner on it and when i put it on a normal orbit, it says it needs to be on a solar orbit. Whats a solar orbit?
  2. TLDR: Rocket TWR dropped from 3.36 on pad to .94 after logging off for the night I made a rocket last night and launched with a TWR of 3.36. I had no problems with it and got it into orbit. I made a save on the pad just in case something went wrong, but when I got into orbit I quit the game and went to bed. The next morning I logged on to see that I launched at a not very optimal transfer window, and reverted to the pad and waited a couple (hundred) days and launched again to find that the same craft suddenly has a TWR of .94 I changed nothing with the craft and inspected it to find it exactly the same, and luckily I was recording the initial launch so I looked over the footage and found everything to be alright. I have no idea what is going on here, but the icing on the cake is that KER says that it would have a TWR of 1.12 in the VAB, but it just decreases. Did I encounter a bug or something?
  3. With Kerbal Space Program 1 the Planets and Moons generally feel relatively small to our real world counter parts. Will Kerbal Space Program 2 feature larger scaled planets and moons of the current Kerbal system or will planets and moons stay relatively the same size in Kerbal Space Program 1?
  4. Was thinking about this just now. Is there a way to have selective fuel crossfeed? Say you have RCS on a lower stage and don't want to put dedicated tankage for MonoPropellent on that same stage. Is there a mod or part that will allow selective fuel crossfeed? So in this case allows for MP xfeed and no other fuel?

First post here so sorry if I am posting this in the wrong place When ever I try and build single engine propeller aircraft it rolls to what ever direction the engine is spinning and I also notice that they tend to slowly pitch down on there own. My question is that is there a way to mitigate these issues?
  7. HI, this is starting to really get on my nerves as I am trying to learn interplanetary transfers now. Is there a setting I am missing or mod maybe that can hide all the useless text when I am trying to plan a maneuver?!? I feel like I got to be missing something really obvious. Thanks in advance.
  8. Hey Space Friends, I am having a lot of trouble getting prop blades to create life.. I made a video (wasn't sure how to post on here) on reddit. Not sure what exactly I am doing wrong... saw a comment on reddit to make sure inactive yaw pitch roll on blades themselves. Am I missing something else?!? I've spent two hours trying to figure this out, and I can't find any youtube tutorials yet?!?

  11. A dev article from1.4 (Whats in a Vessel Name? ( By TriggerAu)) explains how to set showVesselNaming in the part.cfg so that it shows during flight. Great. I love this. One caveat, it doesn't seem to allow one to change the Priority Level during flight. I want to be able to easily change the VESSEL_NAMING_PRIORTY_LEVEL of a craft during flight. Is there a way? How? Can something be added to the part.cfg to enable it to be done? Or is this a something requiring a mod to do? Would be nice if stock allowed it in flight, seems like a bug. Add this to the part.cfg to allow showVesselNaming = True From settings.cfg SHOW_VESSEL_NAMING_IN_FLIGHT = False VESSEL_NAMING_PRIORTY_LEVEL_MAX = 20 VESSEL_NAMING_PRIORTY_LEVEL_DEFAULT = 10 Under the root part (and seemingly only for those parts that are manually set in the VAB) is VESSELNAMING { name = vesselName type = type (new type also from BreakingGround = DeployedScienceController and DeployedSciencePart) priority = priority (default = 10; max = 20) } also - it seems that if a vessel doesn't have at least one part with this set in the VAB, that these are not written to the vessel in the save; so if a vessel with this set docks with a vessel that doesn't - there might be some alterations... checking

  13. This is my first post so sorry if this is in the wrong place. Okay, so when i try to put a fuel tank under a cockpit or anything else it wont attach unless i flip it over, but when i do that i cant place my thrusters under there any more. Anyone know why this is and if they do can they help please?
  14. Hi all, Just having a slight problem where asteroids cease to exist by Kerbin. I have OPM installed, and so far the only asteroids I found were in the rings of Sarnus. I have already viewed the integrity of game files because I saw someone fix it that way in a previous post, but no luck. Help? (Game version is 1.4.5)
  15. I asked this on reddit and had some good feedback but I have one more day so I wanted to get any additional info. its been a year since I played at a buddies, my computer was a brick. My wife blessed me with a new computer I get tomorrow and I will be downloading ksp. The thing is I had a stroke last Father’s Day and I still haven’t regained movement in my right arm or hand. How hard would it be to play? Any suggestions? I’m getting a mouse with 6 buttons and I can use in my left hand. Any thoughts would be appreciated, thank you.
  16. Hi, Is it possible to filter certain parts of the forum out of the "Activity" list? For example, I have zero interest in the "Forum Games" section and don't want the constant silly number games etc posts from spamming my Activity feed. Is it possible to filter that out? I haven't found a way to do so. Thanks
  17. I used to have this mod that would add fairings as individual side panels that you could attach to a base, but I forgot the name of it. I would like to find it again, as it makes payloads look much more clean than just the weird shapes of stock or even KW faring. It was useful for getting clean fairings that would look the same for all payloads, and they usually had nice curves to them. Could anybody point me in the right direction? Thanks
  18. (brief) Discount on steam for direct buyers? Quite some time ago i bought KSP but it was direct, but now due to having to download the whole thing every time an update comes out (update might just not work for me) and having to constantly watch my mods so they stay up to date, i just want to buy it on steam. I know they no longer hand out steam versions due to it costing money on their side but could there be a discount for people who have bought it that would equal the cost on Squad's side for giving it away? Either by buying a code from the steam web page or some form of discount. I'd be willing to pay a bit more for a steam version. If im missing some fundamental detail for why this isn't a thing please tell.

  20. I want to make a button in the PAW for solar panels to toggle sunTracking. I'm new to modding and I'm not really sure what to do. How do you make a button in the action menu? Can it be done with Module Manager?
  21. The new Terrier design introduced in version 1.6 is awesome and reminds me a lot of Porkjet's Terrier revamp. However, Porkjet's design had fuel in a ring around the engine bell, so I was wondering whether it would be possible to add fuel to the Terrier, but only in the shrouded variant. Maybe it could be done with a Module Manager patch or a fuel switch mod (like Firespitter or B9 Part Switch).
  22. Anybody know how to delete parts on xbox? When i remove parts form a craft on my xbox i have to just set them aside instead of deleting them, it gets messy and unorganized.
  23. Can anyone give me some tips on how to build a successful ssto? I have tryed in the past but i run into certain fuel problems, (rip jeb) sometimes its oxidizer, other times its fuel in general. All tips are appreciated!
  24. Didn't know whether to post this here or in Fan works, but basically i'd like to ask if people would want to do a Kerbal Space Program Community Game? Basically how it would work is that I, as the OP, would make story based posts based on what happens in the game, and the community members would take on the role of kerbals of influence, coming to a consensus of what we do next with what parts we have available. The community members could "Claim" directors, workers, family members, visitors, pilots, engineers, scientists and in some cases tourists, and make RP based posts as those characters in reaction to what happens in the game or what happens RP wise between each other as events. I would be trying my best to deliver on what they'd want to do and RP about (for instance, if someone wanted to RP that they made a mobile roving satellite that went around the KSC to monitor what's happening, I would make a rover, use kOS to automate it, and have it do so). It would be heavily modded for as much realism and content as possible, and it could lead to the community coming together to create a unique story narrative and just have fun with it all at the same time. I would also be supply Screenshots and the like as best I can as well.
  25. So i have been thinking about sending a rover to duna but what is the ideal design? should i use a skycrane or should i land it entirely by parachutes? Also should i use Solar panels or RTGs
