  1. Now that Kerbal Space Program has Steam Cloud, there are some improvements that could be made to the way it uses it: A save is not just a single file - it's a directory containing several files. That directory is the thing whose state should be synced. Syncing the state of invidual files only can lead to the creation of saves that are hybrids of two different versions of the same save. Saves should not be shared between KSP installs that have different sets of mods installed.
  2. I've installed the game and the Making History expansion through Steam running on Ubuntu 18.04 (Bionic). With the expansion installed, the game no longer runs. Sometimes it crashes before it can load the main menu. Sometimes it crashes or freezes at the main menu. The farthest I've ever made it was to click through to the Making History select-a-mission screen, at which point the game froze. If I uninstall the expansion, the base game still works fine. Is anyone else seeing this behavior? Anyone come up with a workaround?
  3. I've been uploading some of my aircraft and rocket designs to Steam, and this one in particular has 120+ downloads/subscribers. How can I tweak the design in the editor and upload it without it creating a whole new workshop file? I have tweaked at least one design in the past (adjusting aileron settings, same as I want to do to this other file) and it uploaded as the same file with a change log in the workshop, keeping the subscriptions and presumably auto-updating the workshop file for all subscribers. No idea how I did this as every time I try to do it now it just creates a new workshop file. Anyone have an insight as to how this works?
  4. There are https://www.trueachievements.com/game/Kerbal-Space-Program/achievements, how to make it work on Win10 KSP Steam version? Should a Win10-XBox-app layout be summoned by Win+G on KSP?
  5. The headline basically says it all, on Steam it says the game is running but it isn't Any Idea what i should do? https://imgur.com/a/yWhOUF2 I've had this before and i could only fix it by hard resetting my computer as it wouldnt even shut down
  6. Hey, Back in the days I was too young to have ever heard about steam, so I bought the direct download version. Now that steam workshop is a thing, I really want to have the steam version without paying money to get it, just for a steam workshop function. Is there any way to make my hopes and dreames reality? Thanks anyway
  7. Patch 1.4.4 is on its way and with it various improvements and fixes such as language corrections, FX improvements, and more! As part of our commitment to continue supporting and improving upon KSP, 1.4.4 will add some cool and previously unavailable Steam functionalities that will enhance the KSP experience to users of this platform. For starters, we’ll be launching the Official KSP Steam Workshop hub, along with its full in-game integration. Since the conception of the Making History Expansion, we knew that mission-sharing was crucial for its success. Now, with the integration of this platform into the game, we are making it easier for creators and players to share Missions and Crafts without having to mess around with copying folders from other websites and putting them in the KSP folder tree. This feature will allow you to upload your creations to the hub directly from the game, as well as to subscribe to and vote for your favorite missions. Additionally, it gives us the ability to feature missions from the community and drive visibility to these creations. With patch 1.4.4, it will be more straightforward than ever to enjoy all the content made by the players for the players! This patch also implements Cloud Saves on Steam for both game saves and missions. Once 1.4.4 is released, players will be able to access their save files and mission files from any computer by logging into their respective accounts. Last but not least for 1.4.4, we’ve improved and expanded the controller support for the game via the Steam Controller framework. With the intention of closing the gap between the mapping found in the consoles’ Cursor Mode and the one currently supported in the PC game, we’ve carefully provided configurations and full support for DualShock 3, DualShock 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One controllers, and added a new configuration for the Steam Controller and one for HOTAS-like joysticks. We also added a supplementary contextual controller set for EVA situations, in addition to the currently existing ones for the Menus, VAB/SPH commands, Flight Controls, Map, and Docking Mode. Click here to see the new controller layout. We hope you enjoy these new features. Keep an eye out the patch’s release later this week, and stay tuned for more news and everything Kerbal via our official forums and our various social media channels. Happy launchings!
  8. Why dev's can't bring steam features into game? I would like steam synchronization and workshop with mods, crafts and scenarios!
  9. Hi, i've bought Kerbal Space Program on 2013-06-28. Back then there was no Steam version available. Can i get a key for activating the KSp Version i bought back then on steam?
  10. Just one question: Where is the Steam Workshop ???
  11. Not sure if this has been discussed before or is something in development, but it would be great to have the game multiplayer, especially on Steam as their servers can handle all this, I would very much like to see this happen.
  12. Hi I bought this game on the 25th April 2013 and wondered if it is possible to now have a Steam key for it rather than it just being a Store copy....? I think that it wasn't available on Steam at the time (?), I'm trying to unify my games to one platform if possible. Thanks for any advice. EDIT: Found that this seems to be the cut off date...... March 20th 2013 at 1:00 pm GMT -6:00 ....never mind, seems like I have missed out.
  13. Hi, I wasn't sure where to put this. I searched steam skins and saw an outdated Skin someone made in 2014, but their link no longer works, and I wonder if there are any other space or kerbal themed steam skins anyone knows about.
  14. @Badie , the KSP team and all fans - Steam has recently announced it's own prestigious game awards. This is a new opportunity to promote KSP and to bring the word out to poor fellows who don't know the awesomeness that is Kerbal Space Program. Basically you can nominate any game on Steam for a category you see fit. I hereby encourage all Steam users in our community to contribute and help KSP and its developers earn another shiny award; they really deserve it! Details: http://store.steampowered.com/SteamAwardNominations/ I nominated KSP for: The “Just 5 More Minutes” Award You have an early day tomorrow. You need to get some sleep, so you’re just going finish one more thing before you decide to tuck in for the night. Just one more. Wait, one more. What’s that you say? It’s 2:30 AM? This award is for the game that keeps you playing late. UPDATE: Kerbal Space Program made it into the custom, write-in category of The “Boom Boom” Award - Let’s face it: explosions are pretty great. In a blockbuster movie they’re thrilling. In a celebration with fireworks they’re beautiful. And when they’re behind a cop putting on sunglasses they’re nothing short of glorious. These games understand the fine art of detonation. -BroForce -DOOM -Just Cause 3 -Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes -Kerbal Space Program Voting for this category starts on December 30th: "All four write-in categories will be voted on simultaneously on December 30th. On New Year’s Eve, the winners will be announced and we can bask in the collective glory of the 2016 Steam Award Winners!" So be ready to click heavily on KSP on the 30th this month. KSP really deserves a Steam Award! Details here: http://store.steampowered.com/news/26415/
  15. I want to buy the game as a gift for my friend, who does not use steam. The KSP Store page is directing me to GoG or Humble? I can't just buy it directly from the KSP store? If I buy it from one of those 2 sites, will they still get a login to the KSP Store? Will it come with any 'bloatware'? Or will they be getting the same standalone game that I use? Thank you so much for your help! - Chris
  16. Not sure if you guys have seen this already, but I just saw the KSP store-page on Steam, and they've been getting review-bombed the last few days. Had to look it up to see it was Chinese players angry over the change to that whole "your not a real hero/male" line. PC crap like that would just get a shrug and a head shake here, but it looks like more and more the review-bomb is getting used as the go-to weapon for angry players in China. Glad to see that Steam has a response to it now. They show the overwhelming number of excellent reviews over the past few years, and point out that the overwhelming number of negative reviews have come in the past few days; with an option to exclude those reviews from your page. Hope people thinking about joining the KSP universe can see this tactic for what it is: collective foot-stomping to try to get your way. Unfortunately, they keep using this technique because it's been producing results. Steam reviews are powerful and important. I hate to see them getting used dishonestly like this.
  17. I have a modded instance of Kerbal installed via the steam client (1.3.0) that I recently updated to 1.3.1 on accident, and it broke most of my mods because of compatibility issues. I reverted to 1.3.0 through steam and used CKAN to reinstall the older versions of the mods, since it had updated only some of them, as they hadn't all come to support 1.3.1 yet. upon launching, after everything loads and it goes to the splash screen right before the main menu I encountered a crash, which gave me an error message and printed out a folder of the errors and a stack trace. Attached is a compressed version of all the different crashes, both after updating the mods to 1.3.0 and before. replies and suggestions are welcome! https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/359240957545414666/366711903843778560/Desktop.rar

  19. im looking to play ksp oiver my steamlink to downstairs and to do so i will need steam controller compatability, when i got the game some 3 or 4 years ago i didnt have steam and so never used it but i now use it lots, i read on the steam formums that ksp has native steam controler support for the steam version, is this in the non steam version? if not is there any way i can get the plugin that allows it? thanks
  20. This is technically a Steam question, but I thought I'd ask it here first since it pertains to KSP specifically. Can I modify a shortcut on my PC to launch the 64 Bit version of KSP through Steam's launcher? I currently have a shortcut on my desktop which runs the following: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 220200 This launches the 32 bit client which I had in previous version just replaced with the _x64 equivalent, essentially fooling the launcher. I would like to avoid that if possible.
  21. Hi, I am trying to get addons and mods working (although im not sure what the difference is), but i cant seem to get the game to recognize them. steam saves the game into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program\ and although i have put a few addons in the GameData dir, the only one it loads at startup is this one C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program\GameData\Squad Here is a directory listing of the GameData on my machine but none of the addons will load at startup. Does anyone know what Im doing wrong here? 22. Hello, sorry for my bad english... So I bought the game on the KSP site 2 or 3 years ago, but now, I have Steam. Is it possible to transfer my game on Steam ?
  23. Is there a way to run KSP through steam and force it to run 64-bit? When I run KSP via a normal shortcut, steam doesn't 'recognize' its running. I can run it through Steam's regular interface, it asks me which I want to run, and off I go. If I make a shortcut via steam, it ends up running the 32 bit version. It uses 'steam://rungameid/220200' to do this. Is there a way to force it to run 64 bit, or to have it ask the question when I hit a shortcut? I'd MUCH prefer just to run 64 bit, but with my steam overlay, steam tracking of the game hours, etc... but I'll take what I can get. Thanks!
  24. A mod I want to download RSS Expansion by pozine https://mods.curse.com/ksp-mods/kerbal/232931-rss-planets-moons-expanded-0-11-0 requires 1.0.5. Steam offers a revert but it wont work for me. It will download and say the version of KSP is 1.0.5 on steam but if I look on CKAN or Launch the game, it says the version is 1.3. does anyone know how to help? Cheers!
  25. Hello, I'm new here but I've played KSP for a while. I'm also a huge fan of Star Wars and I am a discussions moderator in the Battlefront Wiki. I just now started getting interested in mods and I have had lots of fun with them my favorite mods are FASA, Half RSS, and US Rockets pack- when I use this one now, the game crashes. NathanKells RSS doesn't have as many moons and dwarf planets that I wanted, so I downloaded Half RSS also by NathanKell. It has dwarf planets and more moons and I was happy with it for a while. Now I'm kraving more- see what I did there ;). I want to download Real Solar System Expanded by pozine https://mods.curse.com/ksp-mods/kerbal/232931-rss-planets-moons-expanded-0-11-0. It adds even more moons, asteroids, dwarf planets, and planetoids. The problem is that the max version the mod supports is 1.1.2. I download KSP from Steam and they give you the option to play the game in previous versions 1.0.5,1.1.3, and 1.2.2. I had to revert to previous versions before for certain mods and I had no problems. In order to download RSSE I had to revert to 1.0.5, which I haven't done before. It doesn't work. when I try to download In CKAN it says the version is 1.3, the same is true if I launch the game. So my question, is there a fix so I can revert KSP to 1.0.5 on steam? Is there any other way to revert the game to an earlier version? Has anyone downloaded RSSE before and can give their experience? Cheers!
