  1. Do I need to toggle RCS on at launch to enable my Vernors? And if so, what's to stop the monoprop RCS farther up the stack from firing if I don't want them to?
  2. So I've a question for some of the more nuanced players who swear by Vernor Engines over the RCS thruster blocks. I personally typically use them as secondary controls during very heavy launches to keep things aimed where I want them, and after that I ignore them. For those of you who typically only use Vernors, how do you place your engines for front/back translation during docking maneuvers? Assuming your docking port isn't on your nose, as mine is typically strapped to the side somewhere, it's not simply a matter of using your engines as you need to brake in fine increments as you line up, so without some very unique attachments (like strapping some I-Beams on at awkward angles), I'm wondering how it's done? Words are good, pictures would be awesome! Thanks in advance.
  3. I have a simple design to deliver a large part of a Mun station, It has the CM, crew cabin, science lab, and a fuel tank (that I hope will have a bit of fuel left for a fuel cell). The idea is to land the station upright and use Vernor engines to tilt it over and slowly lower it to horizontal position. It actually worked on the launch pad, but not exactly how I had hoped. The Vernor engines were fighting each other and I ended up more on my side. I had to use the reaction wheel to roll into the right position. That worked on the launch pad, but I am not sure it will work on the more uneven Mun surface. I think part of my problem was that I used the symmetry tool to place couplets of engines. What I think I want is 2 Vernors point down to tilt it over, and 4 pointing up to slow my controlled fall. So I guess the question is, how do you place the Vernor engines so that I can place the station bottom down? The other problem I am facing is the photovoltaic panels. I have it figured out if I am on a North/South axis, but landing it is going to be hard enough without worrying about the axis. I am think of just putting the OX-STAT-XL Photovoltaic Panels on top and hope it is good enough.
  4. Hello, guys! I don't usually post on forums, I prefer to plow through google's answers first. When the answer is not there, I consider my problem unsolve'able However, this time the thing feels so dumb, and I believe there must be a way to resolve this. So. Every time, when I attach both standard monopropellant thrusters and vernor engines, thruster simply stop reacting to any commands. Can't simply turn them on as the game says they're not disabled or anything. What is happening, is this intended? Can I fix it while on orbit? Cheers, BigGuy
  5. My suggestion for Vernor engines is to have a check box on fuel tanks that stops fuel use in Vernor engines. This way you can lock tanks that you don't want to have fuel taken out of during Vernor use without locking each tank and then having to unlock them when ready to use.
