  1. It is well known that there's a Duna pyramid that makes an SSTV signal(sound that can be made into image). Three years ago, it was found by @Holo that if you go 10,000 peta meters from kerbol, another signal appears. @holo was unable to do it again. It is possible it only works once per install- so have recording software ready. It also must be an actual vessel, not a part ejected by a bug.
  2. Add easter egg/monument on dark side of Moho, because it will be (unique) object in unique place, which you will see after passing a bunch of unusual and difficult challenges Firstly, let's remember, why Moho is difficult place for travel. Interception of Moho is difficult part, because it has elliptical and inclined orbit, which is quite challenging for Hohmann transfer trajectory. Also it is the most closest planet to Kerbol, which brings another difficultes for maneuver planning. All this factors make Moho transfer dV amount is the biggest, bigger than for the farthset planet - Eeloo And when you come to the Moho, you can notice one feature, which is important for my headline - Moho is tidally locked with Kerbol. This means that half of planet always is covered by darkness. And the most, if not even all players will fly only to sun side of Moho, and won't see surface of night side, even on map. Very good place to hide something. All prefer travel by day, but to reach this easter egg you must try to land in darkness on undiscovered relief and travel through it by night. So easter egg will become motivation to finally visit dark side of Moho Let me repeat all steps: you have to transfer to planet with the most complicated orbit and you have to land on surface, which you won't be able to see by day never. Candidate on final boss planet, doesn't it? Maybe this easter egg will be important or not, but it will be certainly great achivement after all challenges you overcame UPD!: I realised that Moho isn't tidally locked as it was said in the description. There are 2 variants: Moho's parameters will be corrected to make it tidally locked, or, pessimistically, Moho's description will be changed. But I think, it'll be good to have monument on Moho
  3. I've seen this done before, but not as a challenge. The challenge is to launch a rocket, with a probe payload, around Ike and then launch the probe into an orbit next to the magic boulder. Then fly the rocket back to Kerbin. Rules: Both rocket and probe must be made of stock parts, The probe MUST be stationed in orbit almost close enough to touch the magic boulder. While the rocket does not need to land at the KSC it does however, need to be landed in one piece. Both the rocket and the probe can be manned or a drone. The probe must have a communications link with Kerbin after the rocket is gone. Size and parts do not matter as long as every thing is stock. The trip can take as long as you want, since speed is not the point of this challenge. Enjoy!
  4. So, I recently downloaded the RN Soyuz mod, and on the Soyuz LOK Descent Module there appears to be a person underwater tapping on the window from the inside. It is a flat image texture, and i converted the DDS file into a jpeg and a cropped PNG, please tell me WHERE THIS IS FROM????? note: image was upside down in texture file note 2: the mod is from ckan, uploaded by radernik note 3: could be from some movie or game involving a flooding submarine
  5. So I was looking for new launching sites in my career mode, therefore I launched a recon satellite to polar orbit around Kerbin, and while watched as the planet rotates under me, on the Kerbnet I picked up an anomaly signal, not so far from the Northern Pole, on the Ice Shelf. So I built a long-range plane and flew there to find out, what is it could be. What a big surprise!
  6. Не нашел упоминаний на русском.В пустыне обнаружен "ранний прототип ракеты"
  7. I just played KSP and when I logged in, it displayed the sandcastle on the main screen. It is considered an Easter egg because I think it has a 1/40 change of appearing. Let me know if you ever saw it in your game and do you have a screenshot of it? Here is my screen shot.

  9. I DID IT! NO JOKE So, As Im Writting This Post, After 1 Year Of Playing KSP I Unlocked The Mun Sand Castle Easter Egg, This is not joke After I Left A Luna Multiplayer Server This Happened, As I Researched This is Rare? Amazing 18/08/2020 - Thank You For All The Likes! 29/08/2020 - I Got It Again, in Just 1 Week, Its like They Raised The Chance Of Getting This I Did not copy and paste the picture again, you can see by opening the image link and see its different names. and no i did not rename the file.
  10. I was reading through the easter egg list for something, and i read this : "In a forum post from late 2013,Squad member Jeff C.(NovaSilisko) described an idea he had for connecting many easter eggs into a story concerning a civilization which predated the Kerbals. Experiments with interstellar travel resulted in the homeworld of this "precursor civilization" being flung out into an extremely distant orbit. Before they froze to death, they launched monoliths and other messages onto many planets and moons in hopes of seeding intelligent life. Instead, they created Kerbals, not-so-intelligent life. The planet would not show up in any map and would be too distant to be observed with a telescope, making locating it by chance nearly impossible. However, players would be able to find transmitters beaming out SSTV signals on various bodies, each one of which would provide part of the orbital parameters necessary to locate it. The planet would be a bit smaller than Kerbin, covered in ruined cities and frozen oceans, and perpetually in twilight due to being so far from Kerbol. The only element of this narrative which made it into the game is the SSTV transmitter on Duna, which transmits an image originally intended to depict 4 members of the precursor civilization standing on their homeworld, with the logo of their government. Had the narrative story been completed, it would also have contained part of the orbital parameters. Because the story was never implemented into the game, this explanation for the SSTV signal's imagery is arguably non-canon." Is there any mod that adds this frozen planet ?
  11. Can you get science or anything else from the black monolith near the Kerbin Spaceport?
  12. I wonder if Squad will add an easter egg for Opportunity in the next update. After all, how can we not forget that little robot who explored the Martian surface for 15 years - and when it was supposed to die after 90 days. "My battery is low and it's getting dark" (Opportunity's final words) If anyone else would like to pay respects, visit my "Opportunity Eulogy" post
  13. I have tried to get on top of a monolith through multiple skydiving attempts so I can collect a surface sample, but no luck so far. Has anybody already done this? It could be fun. You could easily get onto a Mun arch but I don't know where they are on the Mun and am too lazy to find out, so I'm still working on the Monolith near KSC.
  14. I saw this on the large map indicated in green. I thought at first it was another tracking station, until I got down low. I saved my game (since my landings are not always the best) and as I approached, I blew up in midair. The game claims I crashed into the ground. I tried 3 times on the same route...no luck. The 4th time I tried landing a bit outside the low level depression the egg was in. I landed fine, but as I tried to taxi to the easter egg I just blew up. Its like I hit a forcefield. There is a video and screenshot below. I hid it so as not to spoil this for others.
  15. I decided to expand what I suggested in this thread into a full-blown suggestion. Thank @linuxgurugamer for giving me the motivation to do it! First of all, here are a few new easter eggs, one per celestial bodies (except Kerbol). Yes, even Jool gets one, and now everything has more than just a green monolith. -Eve: a Venera lander... in the Explodium Sea. -Gilly: a crashed brown magic boulder -Minmus: very faint details on the flats, that are revealed using SCANsat or KerbNet. They spell "Cruithne". -Ike: The true, and best magic boulder is back, with a vengeance! It can also be moved, but it is even bigger than a class-E asteroid. However, it seems to have a HUGE reserve in ore. Oh, and a monolith, too. -Dres: It has true rings now! You can't see them until you reach it however. -Jool: a platform, suspended in the air at 10km on the equator, on which you can actually land on! And you though coming back from Eve was bad... -Laythe: the Huygens Lander, in the Sagan sea -Pol: the Cassini probe in orbit (first seen as an unknown object) -Eeloo: the New horizons probe in orbit. So, the idea is: a quest line about the various easter eggs in KSP. It starts when you get in orbit of the Mün for the first time. You will get the message: "The on-board instruments are picking strange readings around three points near the Equator of the Mün. The readings are otherwise consistent with surrounding terrain, suggesting the anomalous data is not an artifact. We do not know the origins of these anomalies."' The first quest (and all others) is available when both Mission Control and the Administration Building are at level 3. This will give more incentives to upgrade them, rather than just a numerical upgrade. To complete it, you must land an analyzer (a 5-ton part) less than 5 km away from one of the arches on the Mun. You will get the message: "Encrypted on the Arch are the coordinates of several other anomalies, all over the Kerbolar system. It seems doing certain tasks could unlock blueprints for some highly advanced rocket parts. Then, there are three types of quests: 1) Planet quests By completing these quests, you can unlock previously hidden science nodes, for brand new parts. There is only one of these available per planetary system, for a total of 7, and they are fairly hard. You unlock them by visiting a specific anomaly on the surface. 2) Miscellaneous anomalies quests One of these is available for every celestial body except Kerbol, for 16 total.. It involves very random challenges such as "Entering the Mohole", "Impacting the Kraken", "Kerboldiving", and so on. By completing these, you are awarded a good amount of science and cash, more than most contracts. You unlock them by landing a crew on a body (Kerbin's mission is available as soon as you unlock quests). 3) The final quest (just like the original plan) This quest is available once you completed all 23 others. It involves the green monoliths. What to do with them? A grand tour, no less! You have to get to all of them in the Kerbolar system. If you complete this contract, you get showered by vast amounts of money and science, and... that's right. A distant planet is revealed! Once you get there, you get a message from Wehrner (or while not even a cinematic) about what was this planet. Oh, here are the nodes you get for finishing the! Here is the full list of new nodes, each one being unlocked at random each times. They cost 2500 to unlock. -Hypersonic aerospace tech: 2.5m ramjet, 2.5m RAPIER, and two sizes of scramjets (no thrust at 0 m/s, but HUGE thrust increase with speed, works best at mach 6 and up to 12) -Advanced efficient drives: 2.5m NERV, 4 sizes of 2.5m LF only tanks, a 1.25m ion drive, and a 2,5m Xenon tank. -Ultra heavy rocketry: 4 sizes of 5m tanks, "Leviathan" cluster (bottom stage, 5 mainsails together), "Hippo" engine (high-ISP, mid-thrust), 5m decoupler, 3.75m separator -Experimental precision engineering: A 2.5m-power radial engine (400 kN seems fair), a 1 kN engine with an ISP of 350, larger 0.625m tanks. -Advanced solid rocket fuels: two 2.5m SRBs, and two 1.875m ones. -High-power transmission: A new "Laser antenna". 2T power and relay, but only connects to one other laser antenna. To use it, you must have another non-laser antenna on the ship to transmit the signal to other ships/Kerbin stations. Also needs 10 charge/s -High-power electric systems: Larger RTG, and a quad-size gigantor So without further wait, here are the 7 planet quests! (in parentheses: what to discover to unlock the quest) Moho: Go down 4 km into the Mohole with a crew, then get back to Kerbin (the Mohole) Eve: Deliver a full 2,5m ore tank from Eve to Gilly, then get it back to Eve. (Crashed boulder on Gilly) Kerbin: Land on both the Mun and Minmus with a crew, using a vessel no heavier than 30 tons. (Any of the 3 arches of the Mun) Duna: Find the magic boulder around Ike, and land it on Duna. (The magic boulder) Dres: Put three Dresteroids in an orbit in Dres' ring system. (Doing a close pass of the rings) Jool: Do a Jool-V. (Vallhenge) Eeloo: Fly-by Eeloo less than 6 months after launching the craft (New Horizons Probe) I will soon do the individual challenges for every celestial bodies.
  16. Warning: Spoilers. For those of you who didn't know, 1.2 added a whole bunch of new monoliths. I recently found one by sheer coincidence on Gilly. I landed, and noticed a black speck. Turns out, I only landed 1.7 KM away from it! I know for a fact that there is one on Dres now, and two (one old and one new) on Minmus, as well as a few others. So I have a few questions: Has anyone found any others? And more specifically, are there any new ones on Ike or Duna?
  17. Searched and couldn't find anything resembling this so here we go. I feel that KSP needs some sort of a quest, to guide you in your exploration of the stars. Using the in-game easter eggs, lead the player on a scavenger hunt to discover more clues about the nature of the Kerbal universe, their origins, and possible lore explanations for the game. Starting out would be simple, visit the Proceed from location to location, using kerbnet to locate these locations (already built in game), heres the path that I'm currently following in my 1.3 career Who put those monuments there, where did kerbals come from? hopefully some answers will be revealed. Thanks for stopping by!
  18. There should be an easter egg, or something at the center of Jool. The planet is so interesting and so... Kerbally. There should be something inside of Jool.
  19. Today I've been playing around with KSP and ScanSat, and I noticed something interesting in the map preview. I exported the elevation map, and it's definitely there! It's a smiling face I wonder if it's original KSP easter egg or ScanSat easter egg. Here's contrast enhanced photo: http://i.imgur.com/HyEeDOC.png And here's the original:
  20. I just started using the KerbalNet to look for Easter Eggs. I went here to see if it was listed in wiki and it was not. (http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/List_of_easter_eggs) Mun - Schiaparelli's Impact Latitude: -9.83569712969825 Longitude: 25.9216365170866 Altitude: 1470.4854433143 Images located here: ( http://imgur.com/a/Jbtfl )
  21. So I made a rover and I would like to take it to the UFO on the Mun to see it for myself but I can't find any coordinates online, can someone help me?
  22. Another video on my youtube channel from an awesome mission. It was so funny to record and edit. What do you think?

  24. I discovered 3 mysterious islands on Laythe when trying out Hyperedit. I teleported to Laythe to find these in the distance. As I inspected further, it became more and more astonishingly similar to an Easter Egg. The Islands are different from the rest of Laythe's landmass. They are perfect spheres all in a straight line. They are not part of Laythe's terrain! You cannot land on these islands, making it impossible to plant a flag on them. The Islands are at roughly the same coordinates as the KSC Launchpad back at Kerbin. They are not visible in the map. Of course, to document my discovery of the islands, I have multiple screenshots. Jeb looks just as surprised as I was to discover purple islands on Laythe. I thought those only existed on Eve! As you can see, my game rendered Laythe's normal land properly, indicating that these islands have a different texture. If you look closely, you can see that these islands are actually not part of Laythe, leaving very little possibility outside a glitch with a mod I have or an Easter egg! I want you guys to try and find these islands and see if you have them in your game and help me name these weird islands.
  25. Just a short time ago I've discovered with the tracking station an asteroid of class A and I've sent an mission to grab the asteroid and something very strange happened... When I grab the asteroid I've wanted to take an screenshot for my desktop when I've saw a cube inside it If someone want the mystery images, please can someone teach me how to put a image on this forum? Please put below on comments
