  1. Galaxies Unbound: A Stellar Odyssey Galaxies Unbound: A Stellar Odyssey, is the successor of Galaxies Unbound: Nova Kirbani. This time expanding the kerbal universe with 50+ new worlds for you to discover. In addition GU also optionally adds the solar stellar neighbourhood accurately up to 10-15 lighyears (1/100th real distance ingame). Beyond this distance only notible and famous stars exist up to 50 lighyears. For those that want to visit the planets without the hassle of an interstellar trip, there is also Galaxies Unbound: HomeSwitch. This feature of Galaxies Unbound allows yo
  2. edited cutout licensed under Non-Commercial use, no attribution required. in co-operation with @TheSpacePotato ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi there! Galaxies Unbound: Nova Kirbani is all about our closest stellar neighbour, Alpha Centauri. Although we don't know much about the system, a system was made based on various scientific and less scientific ideas. (no worries, Proxima b is also there) For questions or trou
  3. Astronomical Research Confederation, or ARC, is going to be a mod that adds a galaxy to your game. This galaxy adds 8 different star systems orbiting around a supermassive black hole. Each star system will contain 3-10 planets with most planets having distinct moons. I'm still only working on the skeleton of ARC so, I made this development forum to show you all what I am working on. This is Casiophae It's the supermassive black hole that keeps the galaxy together. Its gravity is 2678564 times stronger than Kerbin's gravity. It also has a radius of 928,393 kilometers.
  4. I have way too many star system ideas. Unless I have somewhere to park them, I'm not gonna get anything done. So I did this. This is all my star system ideas. At one point I might put these into a mod. The systems: T-types M-types K-types This will probably be neverending.
  5. About: I wanted to create a skybox for another eye-candy oriented game: I had fun creating one with Space Engine, so I decided to make a few more. This is the result. You need Texture Replacer! DOWNLOADS: NGC 3115 Central Black Hole Album with more images You very rarely see black holes in skyboxes. I decided to give this massive one a shot. This is a real place in the universe: In this skybox, you orbit a star near the Central Black Hole of the galaxy NGC 3115. You can visit it in Space Engine by press
  6. Far, Far away from the blue orb we all know. From it warmth and protection from the dangers of the cosmos. Lies a titan among galaxies. With over 53.92 trillion stars, this Galaxy has dominated its local group. Hundreds of billions of worlds host protection for life, though the environments may sometimes be extreme to the case of some civilizations. As well as life comes intelligence, over 34 million species in the Galaxy possess interstellar travel. 1.3 billion sapient species have technology at intermoonary/interplanetary space travel, and 617.89 billion have technology lower than ours. This
  7. Hi guys I'm considering to make a star mod, just like Kerbal Galaxy, and I'd love to have some ideas, as I do not have a lot of ideas for now. You can post system ideas down below, and if you want, you can add textures. My ideas for now: Segit: The black hole in the center of the galaxy. Dalykthen: A blue white dwarf. Eodis: A small red dwarf like VB 10. Kahlos: A T-type brown dwarf. But I don't have planets yet. I'd like some more ideas please. Thank you in advance, and happy posting!
  8. Zyansias, a Galactic Cluster mod As it sounds, this mod replaces the stock solar system with a new system, named Fadophis. However, Fadophis isn't the entirety of the scope for this mod; it also includes a region of nearby stars in the galaxy (Nirad). https://imgur.com/a/O1F2M - Current star systems: Zyansias (and its nearby stars: Darat, Zintem, Antin, and Flettor, with its one planet, Pirthes). Zyansias is a massive black hole at the center of this star cluster. It provides us with numerous stars caught and made near this singularity. For now it is the cente
  9. THIS MOD IS NOT READY FOR A REVIEW. PAGE WILL GET AN UPDATE SOON™ After almost 50 years of the Kerbal Space Program, Kerbal scientists started to question what other mysteries might be hiding beyond the orbit of Jool. They pointed a telescope at all those distant flickering things in the sky and that day Kerbalkind discovered that they were just a small part of a greater cluster of stars and planets in the neighbourhood of Kerbol! Kerbal Star Systems presents "The Kermes Galaxy", a collection of 150+ celestial objects, 60+ star systems, a revamped Kerbol System, and
  10. Hi, every solar system mod-maker out there, (especially ProtoJeb21) please can I request a new mod to be made (And to persuade KottabosGames to check it out when its done!)? No offense, it's just because I don't know how to make new solar systems. There are 5 new solar systems, but you can add them one by one. Thanks! Also, I'll submit the equatorial radius, to make things easier. Also, this mod is called Interstellar Defense planets rejiggered with moons, because the stars and planets are from a game called Interstellar Defence. I modified each one a bit , placed them with different stars and
  11. A not so photo realistic, good looking, Sun's perspective correct , ultra high resolution Milky Way background CubeMap for TextureReplacerReplacement. Methodology used in SpaceEngine: 1 - "Land" on the Sun. 2 - Orient the camera so that the equatorial grid is aligned (Top is North), looking through the 0h, 0° coordinates. 3 - "Disable" the Sun and planets. 4 - Adjust magnitude limit and stars brightness to adequate level. 5 - Generate the cubemap. Each of the 6 images are 6000x6000, 24 BPP, lossless compressed .TGA file. I tried going higher than
  12. Hi all, I opened this thread to look for a couple modders to work with me in making ksp star wars galaxy. So basically still have Earth, RSS, RSSVE etc... We would still have to leave Earth and go there, but at your destination there would be livable planets with earth like atmosphere. So in whole, it would be just adding a solar system like Constellations, which by the way is my favorite. I will contribute by building assets for the addon. currently I have two flyable crafts, TIE/IN and T-65 XWing. The TIE has both options of Interceptor or Fighter solar wings, Hatch opens , You ca
  13. Hello everyone. I have an idea for a unofficial KSP mission that shall include mods. This mission as you can guess from the title needs a mod (or mods depends feed back from all of you) that extends the Kerbal-Verse (Universe for the kerbals) and possibly adds extra terrestrial technology or enemies. Thats right, the Kerbals after conquering the Mun turned their eyes towards the other possible galaxies and such stuff and decided to start a new mission. Extended Galaxy Resaech Team 1 or EGR1 This mission is in prototype stages and wont be shared soon unless some of you volonteer
  14. Galaxy is a mod soon to be released that introduces more stars and planets into the game. The center idea behind Galaxy is to change the sun to be a black hole, scrap the original Kerbol system, and then make a new system orbiting a new star from which players start from. In addition to the new system an additional number of systems will be added. Current stars Alpha Da: A binary star system with a gas giant, Polyphelus, from the Avatar Movie. Polyphelus has four moons, one of which being Pandora. Darkstar: A black hole. Skylis: A small yellow star with one gas giant, Klon.

  16. StarSystemsMod [WIP] A new mod that adds more star systems: Blue Dwarf Cyssor - Sehera - Kerol -Munak Yellow-white giant Abbadon - Sirius -Alpha -Kappa - Terra - Ares -Hades
  17. I abandoned the original thread because nobody answered me. STAR SYSTEMS MOD [WIP] This mod is still in development but, i think soon i will test it and release it. Explore new star systems: Special thanks to: - KillAshley ( Code and Textures) - Daeridanii ( For tell me how to make decent textures with GIMP) - Me ( I programed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) - Sigma88 ( LavaLaythe)

  19. For the past month or so, I've undertaken a huge project for myself. I'm designing my own galaxy with individual stars and planets for an upcoming book I'm thinking about writing. I've created a bunch of different star systems with unique planets, moons, and even asteroids. Since I've been creating them for a while, I've been running out of new and unique ideas for planets. That's where you come in! I need your help coming up with ideas. I would really appreciate it if you would think of some unique planets with me. I need you to include if the planet is rocky or a gas planet, if it has m
  20. Not to be confused with the (most likely) dead Kerbal Galaxy 2, this is just the development thread for a different galactic mod This is the development thread for a Galaxy mod I'm making that DOES involve stars orbiting around a central black hole, but instead of the 6-8 or so stars in Kerbal Galaxy 2, this is supposed to be an actual GALAXY, with a full 526 stars and 955 planets, a minority of the planets being rogue planets/planetary mass brown dwarfs (which do exist in reality), and all of those will be gas giants with moons. There will be: 228 Red dwarfs 36 Orange dwar
  21. hi, as Hubble noticed in the 20th century, galaxies are getting further from each other, as a result of the expanding universe. space itself isexpanding. my question is, as space itself is expanding and galaxies are located in space, are galaxies expanding too? is for instance the milky way getting wider?
  22. http://www.cnet.com/au/news/hubble-spots-mother-lode-of-250-ancient-tiny-galaxies/ The article links the consistent clearing of UV opaque space, called reionization, with the appearance of a large number of very faint galaxies about 700 to 900 million years after the big bang. These 250 galaxies represent the sphere of comoving space that took 13 billion years to reach us, thus we cannot know their ultimate fate; however we can surmise an approximate density. Couldh've the dust from the original stars, including supermassive stars we may never see and their associated shock wave
