  1. The Orange Wasteland...

NOTE: PHOTOS ARE LINKED FOR EASIER VIEWING AS EMBEDDING CAUSES ISSUES CHAPTER 1: K.S.S Valiant The EVA From Hell The Mystery Of Monban Station, Or How Jeb Wasted Millions In Five Minutes Icy Ike, But Catla Wants Ike-Cream The Duna Descent Work, Work, Work Home Away From Home Exploration, Part 1 Exploration, Part 2 Shuttling All The Way Icy Ike, But Catla Gets Ike-Cream A Grey Turn Of Events CHAPTER 2: Hello To Nowhere, Part 1 Hello To Nowhere, Part 2 It all happened one day... Jeb, Nacy, Catla, and Jonlong set out for the 'big orange thingy' in the sky. Boarding the 'Vixen', they soared through the atmosphere and into space, leaving Kerbin behind. It was going to be a long time... https://photos.app.goo.gl/KEjxauXMc7oocOSi1 'Yippee! I'm going to space!' Jonlong blurted out. It had been his first time in space. In no time, they had reached a stable, 97 - 103km orbit, and could rest for a few hours. https://photos.app.goo.gl/CLJcLdsa3r6mIVig1 'Hold on, we need to dock with KerbPort to resupply and refuel', Nacy, who was the mission commander, instructed them. 'But until them, we can float around in here, if you want'. 'Yay!' Jonlong enthusiastically replied. Soon, they broke out the cans of Jool-Aid, Crater-Cookies, and of course, snacks, and were floating around the crew cabin. After what seemed like five minutes (it was really five hours), Nacy informed them to get ready for docking. 'Docking in 1 minute, open port'. '30 seconds, Jeb, engage RCS'. Jeb engaged the RCS, and small white puffs came from the thrusters. 'And....we're docked!'. https://photos.app.goo.gl/tpTYwoLMwNJZqvYP2 Now, they would refuel and re-supply, switch to another craft (The 'Valiant'), and be on their way to Duna.
  2. Here we are with Gamelinx's planet pack installed. This story will carry over from the Advancing Through Hardships, but this is significantly more orientated towards the actual missions. The beginning will seem brief because I can't wait to start exploring! I have only glanced at the solar system and I am so excited! The game will be played Kerbin sized but maybe in another series I will do 2.5x. Let's us dive into the story. If you want I will add the mod list, but it will take somebody asking for it specifically. Mod list: Here are the list of chapters, each one with the chapter right below the title. I hope this is a convenience instead of a hindrance. Chapter 1: A New Beginning Chapter 2: A New Initiative Chapter 3: A Mun of a Mun Chapter 4: A Golish Scene Chapter 5: A Gollogical Expedition Chapter 6: "We're in Hell Jeb, Everyone is." Chapter 7: A Little Too Much Like Mint Ice Cream Chapter 8: Junior Von Kerman Chapter 9: Olei

  4. Hi everyone! I would like to show you my lastest mission to Moho. It may help new players who have some issues reaching this body, or some of you looking for design ideas. Before beginning, note that this was done in Career mode. Transfer Window Planner and Kerbal Engeneer were the only mods used. This mission is completely stock parts. Let's get it started ! First of all, here's the goal of this mission : Fulfill 'Explore Moho' Contract. I'm using an 'apollo style' design in 3 different stages : - Main engines & liquid fuel - Hab module - Moho lander. The whole ship is approximatly optimized for this mission, in terms of weight and delta-V required, but some adjustments can still be done. My personnal challenges on this mission were : Create a 'half-reusable' asparagus nuclear cluster, made with mk3 LiquidFuel parts => using it for this mission, then refueling and reusing it for a closer one. Use high efficiency of the nukes to bring the less fuel possible on our cluster. There won't be any 'interplanetary kick' stage made of size 3 parts. Remember : less is more ! Bringing all the science done home with the crew. Enough talking, let's show you what it looks like ! The trick to catch up Moho is to slow down at your solar periapsis to reduce your injection burn in a significant way. This mission is a single example, feel free to comment or post yours ! Hope this will help !
  5. I know it MAY sound weird, but they are a perfect match. They are the only two badass kerbals, they are both pilots, and are both courageous. it just makes sense to me...
  6. Advancing Through Hardships I know that right now, there are multiple folks working on alternate NASA timelines so mine isn't very special. I love writing though and this will be my first post in the mission reports section. Also, if you do follow this post, expect frequent blackouts because of school and Ksp burn-out, which I have been recently trying to fix. This post will be completely stock and will try to make as interesting as possible with non-rocketry chapters thrown into the mix. Also, please comment on this and tell me what you would like to see and also if I wrote something wrong. If I recieve no comments, then I will assume that this post is not meeting its expectations. There will be pictures of the rockets, though I don't know how many pictures, so assume that this not picture orientated. Thank you for your time for reading this post, Advancing Through Hardships. EDIT: I have installed a load of mods, but only because I am playing with a new save that comes in with the later chapters. The early chapters are completely mod free
  7. Jeb's worst nightmare

Hello everyone, I tried to make a rocket to reach orbit or sub-orbit (at least) in RSS but couldn't. So I just downloaded a Falcon 9 Dragon from somebody (I don't remember) and loaded it up. Liftoff starts well. After 2 and a half minutes (I think so) stage 1 were seperated But then, something went wrong. One of the tanks exploded a little which caused the whole ship to loose control. This forced me to abort the mission. I fired up the draco engines to reduce the speed of the capsule. Again, something went horribly wrong. The draco engines ran out of fuel. And they are no parachutes on the dragon. So there is only one option : doing an EVA ^ Image above shows dragon capsule exploded (right) So I (no, Jeb) prepared for the worst. ^ Jeb was falling down very fast Jeb plummeted to the ground at approx 50 m/s Luckily I reverted the flight to the beginning, and Jeb was safe.
  8. Silly Stuff

HI, welcome to the post where you post silly, everyday stuff Enjoy freedom You still want someone to elaborate on this Exactly what the tile says
  9. Jô- Today, we are going to talk with Jebediah Kerman, the first kerbal to walk in Laythe and see Jool with his own eyes. So Jebediah how was your trip ? Tell a little for us. Jeb- There it had an amazing view, I really enjoyed the mission, theres just one problem... Jô- What problem ? Jeb- That spent a lot of time, its very difficult to wait, mainly because I was alone Jô- How much time do you expent ? Jeb- 2 years and 73 days, was a lot of time Jô- I agree, in my case, I cant wait too much time, probably I would become crazy. Jeb-Yes, you have to be patient, and have self control Jô- How much money have you earned ? Jeb- I have not earned any money, I did the mission just by the pleasure and fun. Jô- Wow ! Thats amazing, you are very brave and committed, congratulations. Jeb- Thank you Jô- Now, tell for us about the view, how was it ? Jeb- That was amazing, like anything you have never seen. Jô- You never saw anything so green ? Haha Jeb- Yes, Jool is the greenest thing you will ever see. Jô- What abou Laythe, there was like kerbin ? Jeb- Its very similar, except the water, it smells like pee (Laughs) Jô- Someday do you want to return to Laythe Jeb- Yes, and in the next time with more persons, and maybe build a base there, I can talk with Von Kerman to design one. Jô- Ok folks, that was Jebediah Kerman, thank you, and see you next time !
  10. MechJeb

Does anyone know if there is a MJ release available, or in the works for 1.2?
  11. Let's forget about bugs and have fun for a while. 1) You forgot to check 'crossfeed' somewhere. 2) Your rocket comes with instructions on which way to lean on the controls to balance each stage. 3) Your rocket comes with instructions on which way the pilot must lean to balance each stage. 4) The last stage fires first. 5) SRB's are used as decouplers
  12. Jeb's Sacrifice?

This is a question that's been burning in the back of my head for a week now. So what do you think? Give me any better suggestions if you have any.
  13. KerSpace - Science Mode

KerSpace KerSpace was founded in 1964 to conquer space as a company. After trying to build their own parts, the troubled Kerbals decided to outsource their parts. In 1971 they were able to launch their first rockets with crew on. First was the A-1. Before making their first manned launches KerSpace was not well known. Only a few suppliers gave them parts. The A-1 rocket in the VAB before launch. (Lansley Kerman) The launch of the rocket was observed on March 21, 1971 from a newly built facility. Jebediah Kerman was in the rocket's lone capsule. "It was astonishing. I could see the facilities from my window and from the two camera feeds." A new view of the Mun from the A-1. (Jebediah Kerman) This flight made huge publicity for the company and now many sponsors were offering parts. They took many and were able to create a multi stage rocket. That's coming soon. For now this is all we have. As the Kerbals say, Söídà!
  14. Hello Kerbonauts! Today I am starting an expedition to Eve! I first sent up the Original Four up, each on a separate rocket (because reasons). I really want to post pics, but I can't get image uploading to work :(. Could someone tell me how they do it? Anyhow, they're transfer burns are complete, and they're heading for Eve!
  15. Jeb's Song

This song wasn't written by Jeb, it was written by his agent. They had been contracted by the Kerbin government department of propaganda and optimism to create a patriotic video. I don't have the video, just these stills and lyrics, but I hope you enjoy it anyway. Jebediah: ♫♪♫♪ I've been, to planets, with no signs of life, ♫♪♫♪♫ ♫♪♫♪ From Duna, to Eve, Dres, Jool and Moho, ♫♪♫♪ ♫♪♫♪♪ But wherever I roam, in the deep depths of space, ♫♪♫♪♪ ♫♪♪♫♪ I still call old Kerbin home. ♫♪♫♪♫♪ ♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪ Jebediah: ♫♪♫♪ I'm always flying, I love being free, ♫♪♫♪♪ ♫♪♫♪ And so I keep leaving the dirt and the sea. ♫♫♪♫♪ ♪♪♪♫♫ But though, my heart lies, with the sun, mun and stars , ♪♫♫♪♪ ♪♫♪♪♪ I still call old Kerbin home. ♫♫♪♪♪ ♫♫♪♪♪♪♫♫♪♪♪♪♪♫♫♫♪♪♪♫♫♪♪ Choir: ♫♪♪♫♪ All the brave explorers, flying 'round the sun, ♫♪¢♪♫♪♪ ♪♪♪ Away from their family and friends. ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪♫But as outer space gets deeper, and colder, ♪♪♪♫♪♪ ♪♪♫♫♪♪ It's good to know, where your journey ends. ♪♪♫ ♪♪♪♪♫♪♪♪♫♪♫♫♪♪♪♫♪♪♪♪♪♫♫♪♫♪♪♫♪♫♫♫♪♪♫♪♪♪♪♪♫♫♫♫ ♪♪♪♪♫♪♪♪♪♪♪♫♫♫♫♪♪♪♫♫♫♫♫♪♪♪♪♫♪♫♫♪♪♫♫♫♫♪♫♫♫♪♪ Choir: ♪♪♫♫And someday, we'll all be, together once more, ♪♪♫♫ ♫♫♪♪♫ When all the spaceships come back to the floor. ♫♪♪♫ ♪♫♪♫♪ I'll realize, something, that I've always known, ♪♫♫♫♪ ♪♪♫♫♪♪ I still call old Kerbin home. ♫♪♫♪♫♪ All: ♪♫♪♪♫ But no matter, how far, in deep space I roam, ♪♫♪♪ Choir: ♪♫♪♫♪ I still call old Kerbin, ♪♫♪♫ Jebediah: ♪♪♫♪♪ I still call old Kerbin, ♪♪♫♫♫ ♪ All: ♪♫♪♫♪♫«I stiiiill, caaall old Ker-bin, home! ♪♫♪♫♫♫♪♫ There. Now if that doesn't get your kerbals feeling inspired, there's something wrong with them. This idea randomly came to me yesterday. As you might not know, I'm parodying this: Apologies to QANTAS, Peter Allen, and the Australian Girls Choir and National Boys Choir.
