  1. Edit: I have come to the conclusion that I have faulty hardware. So, I've had this issue for a while now, and I used to be able to use temporary workarounds to fix it, but I can't get it to work anymore. So basically, every time I boot up KSP through Steam, and then the PD Launcher, it will attempt to load, then crash my entire laptop. Now, my laptop may not have the newest technology, but it should absolutely be able to run KSP, and had done so just fine in the past. For 40 hours! And out of nowhere the game suddenly crashes as soon as it tries to load, which makes me very sad. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, going through the files, searching up possible solutions, but nothing seems to help me. A possible outcome that my friend and I came to was that my laptop is shutting down to prevent it from reaching deadly temperatures, but I will look more into that later. I also observed Task Manager, and noticed that the application did not ever max out my CPU or RAM, so I am absolutely stumped. And it can run KSP2 fine as well which should obviously crash my laptop if KSP1 does. Here are my laptop's components in case it is a hardware issue: Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz 2.81 GHz Installed RAM 32.0 GB (31.9 GB usable) Product ID 00325-96229-38653-AAOEM System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
  2. So, here's my setup: Razer Blade 15 (2018) Windows 10 legal installation, fully updated intel i7-8750H, 16GB DDR4 RAM, mobile Nvidia 1070 Max-Q KSP 1.9.1 (also a legal copy for what it's worth) I have about 30 or so mods installed. I typically have this laptop set up as a desktop, with a Razer Core that has a 1080ti inside it, two external monitors (34" 2560x1080 ultrawide 144hz as main, 32" 1920x1080 144hz as secondary) an external gaming mouse and mechanical keyboard attached. While in that setup I have zero issues with my game. However, I am staying at my partner's house right now and brought just the laptop body itself with me as I have become addicted to KSP. This is the first time I have tried to load the game not on my dekstop setup. It crashes on load every time. What on earth could be causing that? Is it just searching for components that aren't there and crashing? That doesn't seem likely, but I cannot think of any other reason. Thoughts? To be clear this is the exact same computer I always play it on, just after having removed all the external peripherals am I having this issue. Also, when I say crashes, I mean that the game closes itself out to desktop, not gets hung up on the loading screen.
  3. Macbook Pro 2011: i7-2675QM CPU 8GB RAM AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB Lenovo Ideapad 700: i5-6300HQ CPU 12GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX950M SSD I am currently using the Macbook Pro, and I am considering purchasing the Lenovo. My question is, would the Lenovo be any better for KSP than my current laptop? I'm hoping that It'll be able to use significantly higher part counts without lagging. (My Macbook starts getting really laggy around 350 parts) Also just to clarify, I know that desktop PCs are way better for gaming than laptops. The reason I'm getting a laptop is because I need the mobility, and because its primary function won't be to play KSP. Thank you!
  4. 1158/5000 Hello everyone ! At the moment I have a problem of FPS that I can not solve! I play with the version 1.3.1 in 64bits without mods, on laptop. I have a big drop of FPS with big ships (200 to 400 parts) which is normal, but there is more important than usual! I realized something: when I use the touchpad of my PC to zoom in / out (instead of the wheel of my mouse), instantly there is no problem! FPS go back up to 60, but only for a short time (15 seconds) before falling again ! I need to use the touchpad again for FPS to increase again Here is exactly what happens: (sorry for the quality) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqpMGqCUb3s the FPS are reduced because of the video capture system, in fact it turns around 16fps when it lag and it rises to more than 40 once I zoomed with the touchpad I tried to uninstall and re-download KSP, but that does not change anything Did you know what's going on? thank you (sorry for my bad english, I'm french)

    I is back

First of all, hi. With school in less that ten days, I decided to get used to a PC again (as I had been playing games such as GTA V, Star Wars Battlefront II, Star Trek Online, AND Kerbal Space Program - mentioned later) on my Xbox One. You can imagine running a game such as KSP on a laptop, and go, "okay, what about it?" Well you see, I have so many mods in my game, that when I played it after school, I would go and have my shower and by the time I had put on my pyjamas, it had just finished loading. Roughly around 15 mins. My average frame rate is 35, the graphics have to be turned on to 'Low', but I don't care. Cause I have some new wireless headphones, that project audio clearly. Have you ever heard the beauty of the main theme in surround sound headphones while your parents and sister argue over rights to Netflix usage? I can't even hear them, as these block incoming noise very effectively. Also over the holidays, I celebrated my birthday. And I got the best gift of all: The LEGO Saturn V kit. I had to stand on my chair to put the LES in place, my cat knocked it over (resulting in a very miserable Thursday night having to rebuild it, with Ally sitting on the box just watching me, laughing as I have to build it again after her crazy chasing around the house), and I just spent nearly a day building a custom launch tower for it, as I'm putting it on display at the local library with my dad. And for those who were saying "How do you have KSP for Xbox, if it's not in the store?" Well you see, I kinda have it just sitting in 'My Games & App's', ready to be played. I know it's glitchy, there's no debug menu or mod support (yet), but it was fun seeing my mum and dad try to complete the Kerbal X tutorial mission. Mum got off the launch pad, only to crash, but dad actually got into orbit! So, with school fast approaching, I shall be preparing to sit outside my locker for 90 minutes a day, looking at the various stories on the 'Mission Reports' section, and downloading more mods to further push my available RAM size to dwindling proportions (until it gets deleted by the IT department for the quarterly computer check. Many people have said to delete System32 to hide their games, one actually did it). And with that, hello again!
